wouldst thou like to live fergaliciously?
Honestly, I was considering not doing this because I'm not super proud of my tournament and my teams all felt solid but not crazy innovative or anything. I decided to do it anyway just to get some more teams out there near the close of SM. While there wasn't one team that I felt made a big impact, like my first seed zapdos team from SPL, I think they're all solid and worth preserving. Since I don’t feel super strongly about most of these teams my descriptions will likely be skimpier than usual, but feel free to either comment here or message me if you want to talk about any of the teams!

I got the team I used in the Semifinals straight from miltankmilk so I’m not gonna write about that one. 5-4 regular season isn’t bad, but it’s definitely not as good as I would have hoped. Snake took a bit of a backseat to real life and I don’t regret that, but I’m hoping I can come back strong for SPL and put up another good showing.
Huge shoutouts to miltankmilk Kaori Mizuhime for being great building and testing partners, you guys were super supportive and bailed me out when I needed help. Thanks to Funkasaurus and Ciele for picking me up and to all the Gliders for being great teammates, had a really fun time playing for and with you guys.
Feel free to message me if you have any questions, thanks for reading!

This was around the time when Venusaur had its 15 minutes of fame. I’ve always been a closet fan of Mega Venusaur and hadn’t built it at all in SM so I went for it. Leech Seed and Synthesis are both super good on Mega Venusaur, and together they let Venusaur stick around for so long. No Protect means you have to be more careful with when Venusaur is on the field, but it’s definitely worth dropping for Leech + Synthesis. Sash Feint Marshadow is the only other non standard set on the team, honestly not really sure why I went with this set but Feint is definitely underrated on Marsh.

I actually loved this team a lot more than I expected to. I’m generally not a fan of Volcarona, but Volc + Scrafty + Bulu has some pretty good breaking power and I wanted to build Diancie. This was the first time I used Ferrothorn + Bulu and I grew pretty fond of it, not only for the boost to Power Whip but also because it essentially gives Ferrothorn Leftovers + Berry, which makes is super hard to kill. Against mizuhime’s better judgement I stuck to my guns with Rotom-W on this team and I was not disappointed. Rotom is still a pretty good pivot and check to some common mons like Landorus and Mence, and speed control is never bad either.

I truly had no idea what to expect from 51 early on in this tournament, and using Rain PsySpam had already worked for miltankmilk so I just went for it. I thought Taunt Mega Gengar was a solid option to shut down any cheese he may bring, and Haze Toed was more insurance. Unfortunately he brought Chople Pursuit Tyranitar and the rest is history lol.

miltankmilk and Kaori had been hyping up Mega Scizor pretty hard, so I decided to build it as well. I was absolutely not disappointed, and this team became one of my favorites from Snake. This team just felt really solid overall and is one of my favorites to use right now, mainly due to how flexible it is. You have options to control both weather and terrain, a couple different speed control options, a couple super hard hitters, and a safety net in Heal Pulse Fini. Really happy with how this team turned out.

THE STEAMY ONE. If the last team was my favorite from Snake, this is definitely my second favorite. We knew that Memoric liked using Tyranitar, so I wanted a couple things that could outright donk it. Marshadow was an easy pick and I went with Superpower as a coverage move on Lando, but Substitute Waterium Volcanion was so good. It can sub up on a lot of common mons and start firing off powerful Steam Eruptions or Heat Waves, then nuke almost anything other than fat mons or resistances with Hydro Vortex. Another instance of Ferro + Bulu for the boost to Power Whip and pseudo-leftovers, which Sub Volcanion really likes as well.

Honestly if the mega on this team was anything but Zard it probably would have been better. I like Zard in theory, but it’s just so hard to use right now. Even when I thought my Zard was safe against stax it just got bopped by Stone Edge Lando as I clicked Wide Guard (I think?). The rest of the team is flames, Sub Electrium Koko was Mizuhime’s idea and Band Zygarde was miltankmilk’s. Both of those sets are really cool and are something I want to keep exploring down the road.

My first true love of Gen 6, Mega Metagross is in a pretty good place right now and I hadn’t really talked about it in a while so I figured Connor wouldn’t expect it. I loved the way this team could take advantage of both terrains, as Metagross appreciated the boost to Thunder Punch and Koko could fire off Moonblasts in Misty Terrain. I went with Fightinium Marshadow as opposed to the typical SSSSS set to bop stuff like Kyurem and Snorlax, and it ended up winning me the game when he expected Marshadium.

This is just another somewhat standard Gengar Ttar Lele build, with Psychium Lele instead of the more common Scarf since I had reliable speed control and Shattered Psyche in terrain is an absolute nuke. Unfortunately got run over by Fightinium Deo in this game, but I still think the team is solid if not just a tad slow.
