[OVERVIEW]

* Cofagrigus is one of the most dangerous Trick Room sweepers in the tier thanks to its access to Nasty Plot, good mixed bulk, and decent Special Attack stat.
* Its Ghost-type allows it to spinblock Pokemon such as Tentacruel and defensive Starmie and use them as setup baits.
* Its ability is especially good against Pokemon that make good use of their abilities, such as Mega Aerodactyl, Conkeldurr, and Scizor.
* While its Ghost-type gives it an edge against more balanced archetypes, is a huge flaw against more offensive builds, which are much less passive than the balanced ones as they use more Ghost- and Dark-types, such as Gengar, Bisharp, Krookodile, and Hydreigon.

Moves
========

* Trick Room gives Cofagrigus a huge advantage against any kind of build, as it allows Cofagrigus to be faster than most of the Pokemon in the tier for 5 turns.
* Nasty Plot increases Cofagrigus' Special Attack stat by two stages each time Cofagrigus uses it, giving it the edge against faster teams under Trick Room.
* Shadow Ball can 2HKO most of the tier after a Nasty Plot boost, and Z-Shadow Ball can OHKO huge special walls after a Nasty Plot boost, such as Amoonguss, Clefable, and Empoleon.
* Hidden Power Fighting is used to hit Normal- and Dark-types, exclusively, as they're immune or resistant to Shadow Ball.

Set Details
========

* Ghostium Z gives Cofagrigus the opportunity to wreak havoc with a powerful Never-ending Nightmare, but it can be used once per battle. Ghostium Z also reduces the Knock Off damage and can be useful against Trick or Switcheroo users such as Latias and Persian-A.
* Leftovers can be used instead Ghostium Z if the team has another Z-Move user, but Cofagrigus loses a lot of sheer power for not using Ghostium Z.
* Mummy is Cofagrigus' only ability, but it's not useless like other Pokemon that have one ability; it gives Cofagrigus the edge against Pokemon that need their ability to be efficient, such as Mega Aerodactyl, Scizor, and Knock Off Gliscor.
* The given EV spread with a Quiet nature allows Cofagrigus to hit as hard as possible, tank some hits, and be slower than any Pokemon in the tier under Trick Room.
* It's also recommended that Cofagrigus should use 0 IVs in Speed in order to be as slow as possible, and as a result abuse of Trick Room better than it would if it had the 31 IVs.

Usage Tips
========

* Cofagrigus can find setup opportunities against Pokemon such as Hippowdon, Tentacruel, Stealth Rock Clefable, and Celebi thanks to their passive nature.
* Cofagrigus has to look out for possible lures, such as Crunch coming from Mega Aerodactyl or Life Orb Clefable.
* Abuse of Trick Room as much as possible by using slow teammates that can revenge kill any Pokemon that defeated Cofagrigus, such as Primarina or Bewear.

Team Options
========

* Spikes and Stealth Rock support is almost obligatory on any team Cofagrigus is a member, mostly because Cofagrigus can spinblock really well and use the Defoggers, such as Scizor and Togekiss, as setup baits, while also abusing of Spikes to wallbreak.
* Fighting- and Fairy-types such as Cobalion, Bewear, Togekiss, and Clefable can help Cofagrigus against Dark-types such as Bisharp and Krookodile, while Cofagrigus provides them Trick Room turns or a resistance to Poison and an immunity to Fighting.
* Slow Pokemon, such as Primarina, Scizor, Bewear, Conkeldurr, Amoonguss, and Volcanion can take advantage of the Trick Room turns if Cofagrigus got KOed or was forced to switch out.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

* Cofagrigus can opt to use a defensively oriented set, with Will-O-Wisp, Shadow Ball/Hex, Pain Split, and Haze/Knock Off/Toxic Spikes can be used, but it's outclassed by Jellicent, which can take hits from special attackers such as Keldeo better than Cofagrigus, while also having reliable recovery.
* A set with Z-Memento can be used under Trick Room effectively, and allows Cofagrigus to restore the health of any of its teammates while lowering foes' Attack and Special Attack stat by two stages.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Dark-types**: Dark-types such as Krookodile, Hydreigon, Mega Sharpedo, and Bisharp threaten Cofagrigus with their STAB-boosted attacks, which can give Cofagrigus some headaches. Fortunately, Cofagrigus can OHKO all of them after a Nasty Plot boost and under Trick Room.

**Gengar**: Gengar is the only Ghost-type that pressures Cofagrigus, as others such as Doublade and Jellicent are ineffective at damaging Cofagrigus effectively. However, Cofagrigus outspeeds Gengar under Trick Room.

**Blissey**: Even if Cofagrigus has Nasty Plot and Hidden Power Fighting and is immune to Seismic Toss, Blissey can use Toxic and slowly wear down Cofagrigus while recovering its health with Soft-Boiled.

id de-slash leftovers, move it to a mention at the most. z-moves are like 95% of the reason to use cofagrigus imo

* It isn't hard to find setup opportunities with Cofagrigus, as Pokemon such as Stealth Rock Clefable, Tentacruel, Latias, and Mega Aerodactyl are becoming more common.

this sentence is a little awk, id reword that to saying that it can set up on common mons like clef tenta lati aero due to their passive nature, something along those lines.

* Pursuit trappers, especially Choice Scarf Krookodile and Mega Absol, can trap Gengar, probably the biggest threat to Cofagrigus.

i dont rly think this is the case (if u have tr up gengar is a non issue), dont think this needs a mention because most suit targets arent troublesome if u can get up a tr

mention z-memento in oo, its a p neat option especially under tr

Implemented, ready for QC 2/3.

I'm not QC, but a set I commonly use is this
EVs 252 Hp, 252 Defence, 4 Special Attack
Calm Mind
Will-O-Wisp
Pain Split
Hex
It works. Try it and put it in if you think it works (it does, and very well)

I don't think defensive Cofagrigus is viable enough to deserve its own set on the analysis. Just a mention in OO is fine.

In the first line of usage tips, remove Celebi, since it can do a ton of damage to Cofagrigus with Leaf Storm or a Z move. Say that Cofagrigus should preserve its health as much as possible, since ideally it would like 2 boosts to attempt a sweep or get as much damage as possible. Also in Usage Tips, note that a resisted Never Ending Nightmare hits just as hard as super effective HP Fighting, which is useful to know against opponents that try to stall out Trick Room by pivoting around.

I don't like Gengar as its own section in C&C. Change it to "Bulky Special Attackers", with things like Mega Blastoise, Primarina, Togekiss which can generally deny 2 boosts (either switch in on NP and KO, or switch in on Trick Room and live NEN).

Nice job, QC 2/3

To be honest, cofagrigus is not the best set upper in uu, and I thing is very replaceable by mew, who is much more usable with a powerful stab psychic. Mew also has the same accesses to toxic an will-o-wisp that cofagrigus does, and is still kinda tanky. He also has the choice of rocks unlike grigus, to make much more use of it's decent speed to set up many different hazards.
