[OVERVIEW]

Crobat is a reliable pivot with access to many utility moves that it can take advantage of thanks to its incredible base 130 Speed, which allows it to outspeed the likes of Talonflame and +1 base 70 Speed Pokemon. Its average Attack stat is bolstered by its access to powerful STAB moves such as Brave Bird and Acrobatics. With access to utility options in U-turn, Defog, Taunt, and Toxic, Crobat is able to take on the roles of pivot, entry hazard controller, and stallbreaker. Crobat also has an excellent defensive typing of Poison / Flying, granting it an immunity to Ground-type attacks, a resistance to Fairy and Poison, and three 4x resistances in Fighting, Bug, and Grass. Poison / Flying is a nice offensive typing as well, as Flying-type attacks hit the Fighting-, Bug-, and Grass-types of the tier super effectively, and Crobat's powerful STAB moves can deal reasonable damage against the majority of the tier. Because of its typing and Infiltrator ability, it is an excellent offensive check to Buzzwole and Conkeldurr, two of the most prominent Fighting-types in the tier. However, Crobat struggles versus teams with Mega Aerodactyl, Mamoswine, Steel-types, or Slowbro thanks to its set of weaknesses, mediocre coverage options, and merely decent attacking power. Crobat's Stealth Rock weakness also somewhat hinders its effectiveness as a pivot without proper support.

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

Brave Bird is Crobat's primary STAB move, capable of dealing decent amounts of damage and allowing Crobat to check various Fighting-, Bug-, and Grass-types, such as Buzzwole and Celebi. Taunt shuts down defensive Pokemon such as Hippowdon with ease and prevents several offensive threats from setting up. Defog is an option over Taunt, as it allows Crobat to remove entry hazards if necessary. Roost gives Crobat a form of reliable recovery so it can last throughout the match. Finally, U-turn lets Crobat pivot out into other team members while dealing minor damage and punishing switches.

Set Details
========

252 Attack EVs allow Crobat to make the most of its base 90 Attack, and 252 Speed EVs with a Jolly nature allow Crobat to outspeed the likes of Talonflame and Raikou. The ability Infiltrator allows Crobat to bypass Substitute, Reflect, and Aurora Veil and is integral in allowing it to check Buzzwole. Flyinium Z gives Crobat a 190-Base Power Supersonic Skystrike, which allows it to OHKO the likes of Latias after Stealth Rock damage. If your team already has a Z-Move user, you can opt to use a Sky Plate in order to boost Crobat's Brave Bird without lowering Crobat's defensive utility.

Usage Tips
========

Crobat should Taunt and U-turn on defensive Pokemon such as Hippowdon in order to gain momentum for your team and force your opponent to switch. U-turn should also be used in order to pivot out of bad matchups versus Pokemon such as Raikou. Crobat can also switch into certain offensive Pokemon such as a Mega Beedrill predicted to use a Bug-, Fighting-, Grass-, or Ground-type move and pivot out or attack with Brave Bird in return. In addition, you can utilize Crobat's high Speed stat in order to revenge kill weakened threats with Brave Bird. Use Crobat to remove hazards with Defog if it has it, but be aware that Crobat is weak to Stealth Rock itself.

Team Options
========

Strong Fighting-, Fire-, and Ground-types such as Infernape and Mamoswine make good partners for Crobat, as they can super effectively hit the Steel-types that Crobat struggles with. Offensive Grass-types such as Celebi also pair well with Crobat, as they can pressure or remove defensive Water- and Ground-type Pokemon such as Hippowdon, Slowbro, Suicune, and Alomomola; this is made easier by Crobat's pivoting and access to Taunt. Checks to Mega Aerodactyl such as Scizor and Swampert also make for good partners to Crobat. Entry hazard removal from Pokemon such as Starmie and Tentacruel is usually appreciated if Crobat lacks Defog. Pokemon that are weak to any of the types Fighting, Bug, Grass, or Ground, such as Mega Blastoise and Empoleon, usually appreciate Crobat's set of resistances. Similarly, Pokemon that are walled by Buzzwole such as Scizor and Mega Beedrill appreciate Crobat's ability to force it out or OHKO it. Crobat also appreciates Pokemon like Scizor, which can pivot into an Ice Shard from Mamoswine and force it out, as Crobat takes major damage from Ice-type attacks.

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

Brave Bird is Crobat's strongest STAB move, capable of pressuring the opponent well by dealing decent damage to most of the tier. Acrobatics is an alternative STAB move that is less powerful and forces Crobat to forego an item but does not cause recoil damage. U-turn allows Crobat to pivot into other team members while dealing minor damage and punishing switches. Toxic can be used as an alternative to U-turn; it allows Crobat to wear down opponents over time and cripple common defensive switch-ins to it. Roost gives Crobat a form of reliable recovery. Taunt allows Crobat to shut down walls that rely on recovery and prevent Pokemon from setting up. Defog provides entry hazard removal for the team as an option over Taunt.

Set Details
========
A spread of 248 HP / 36 Atk / 224 Spe with a Jolly nature is used in order to outspeed Talonflame and prevent it from setting up a Swords Dance via Taunt while having a good amount of bulk and keeping as much offensive presence as possible. An alternative spread of 248 HP / 76 Atk / 184 Spe with a Jolly nature can be used in order to still outspeed Mega Pidgeot if the team is not concerned with shutting Talonflame down or outspeeding the occasional Swellow. Infiltrator allows Crobat to bypass Substitute, Reflect, and Aurora Veil, which helps it damage Buzzwole and Alolan Ninetales. Black Sludge allows Crobat to have a form of passive recovery over time and deters opponents from using Trick on it. If opting for Acrobatics, however, Crobat should not hold an item, and it can run Defense investment or split Defense and Special Defense investment rather than Attack in this case if the team needs Crobat to have more bulk to make up for its lack of Black Sludge.

Usage Tips
========

Crobat should be used as a defensive pivot and source of utility for balance and bulky offense teams. Taunt or Toxic should be used to stop or cripple defensive Pokemon before Crobat pivots out of them. Crobat can switch in on resisted hits from Pokemon such as Buzzwole (beware of Ice Punch, however) in order to threaten them out with Flying-type attacks. Defog should be used to remove hazards for your team if Crobat has it, but be aware that Crobat is weak to Stealth Rock itself. Finally, use U-turn if you predict that the opponent will switch into a Pokemon that Crobat struggles against to gain momentum.

Team Options
========

Fighting-, Fire-, and Ground-types such as Cobalion, Infernape, and Krookodile are good partners to help defeat Steel-types. Crobat also greatly appreciates checks to Mega Aerodactyl such as Scizor and Swampert. Entry hazard removal from Rapid Spin or Defog users such as Mega Blastoise and Mandibuzz is also usually appreciated if Crobat is not using Defog. Pokemon like Krookodile, which have weaknesses to Fighting-, Bug-, and Grass-type attacks, usually appreciate Crobat's set of resistances. Pokemon that can switch into predicted Ice-type attacks from Mamoswine, such as Cobalion, make good partners for Crobat, as Crobat takes massive damage from Ice Shard and Icicle Crash.

[SET]

move 3: U-turn
move 4: Sleep Talk

ability: Infiltrator

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

Brave Bird is Crobat's primary STAB move. It is quite spammable due to the general lack of Pokemon that resist Flying-type attacks in the tier. Cross Poison is Crobat's secondary STAB move, which is primarily useful for hitting Fairy-types such as Primarina and Sylveon slightly harder than Brave Bird without the drawback of recoil. U-turn is excellent for allowing Crobat to pivot and gain momentum for the team, and it also hits Psychic-types fairly hard. Sleep Talk allows Crobat to switch in on Pokemon such as Amoonguss safely and to act as sleep fodder.

Set Details
========

252 Attack EVs with a Choice Band allow Crobat to do as much damage as possible with its Brave Bird, and 252 Speed EVs with a Jolly nature allow Crobat to outspeed the likes of Talonflame, Raikou, and other fast Pokemon. The ability Infiltrator allows Crobat to bypass opposing Substitute, Reflect, and Aurora Veil, allowing it to more easily KO Alolan Ninetales and Buzzwole.

Usage Tips
========

Crobat should be used to force out or OHKO Pokemon that are frail or weak to Flying such as Starmie, Buzzwole, and Conkeldurr. Crobat can also be used to 2HKO bulkier Pokemon such as Volcanion, Mega Blastoise, and specially defensive Gliscor on the switch or heavily dent them in a one-on-one situation. This set works best on hyper offense teams, which can afford to have one of their breakers or revenge killers have a primary STAB move with recoil. Versus bulky offense and hyper offense, Crobat should be primarily using Brave Bird to do as much damage as possible. If one of Crobat's several counters is on the opposing team, however, it is usually best to choose U-turn to maintain momentum. Although Crobat takes a high amount of damage while doing so, Crobat can stay in versus faster threats such as Mega Beedrill and Mega Sceptile in a pinch to OHKO them with Brave Bird. Keep in mind, however, that Dragon Pulse from Mega Sceptile 2HKOes and that Knock Off from Mega Beedrill can lessen Crobat's power by removing its Choice Band.

Team Options
========

Fighting-, Fire-, and Ground-types like Volcanion and Terrakion partner well with Crobat, as they can KO or heavily damage the Steel-types that Crobat cannot. Offensive Water- and Grass-types like Mega Sceptile also pair well with Crobat, as they can pressure or remove Crobat's primary counters in Hippowdon, Mega Steelix, Slowbro, and Alomomola. Entry hazard removal is very much appreciated by Crobat, as it often switches in and out and is weak to Stealth Rock, so consider running a Rapid Spin or Defog user such as Starmie, Mega Blastoise, or Defog Latias. Pokemon weak to Fighting-, Bug-, or Grass-types, such as Hydreigon and Starmie, usually appreciate Crobat's set of resistances and offensive presence versus Pokemon with those types. As an extension of this, Pokemon checked or countered by Buzzwole like Mega Beedrill heavily appreciate Crobat's ability to OHKO Buzzwole through its Substitute.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Other fourth moves can be considered for the Choice Band set, such as Steel Wing for Mega Aerodactyl and Tailwind for a last-ditch support effort, but these are usually inferior to Sleep Talk's utility.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Mega Aerodactyl**: Mega Aerodactyl is capable of switching into almost every Crobat set and threatens to outspeed OHKO it back or Pursuit trap it.

**Mamoswine**: Mamoswine's powerful Ice Shard and decent bulk render it capable of threatening or forcing out any Crobat set.

**Flying-resistant Steel-types**: Pokemon such as Empoleon, Magneton, Mega Steelix, and Klefki are capable of shrugging off Crobat's attacks and crippling or damaging it in return.

**Electric-types**: Although Raikou and Xurkitree are slower than Crobat, they are easily capable of forcing the utility sets out with the threat of a Thunderbolt. The Choice Band set, however, 2HKOes Raikou and Xurkitree after Stealth Rock damage with Brave Bird.

**Physically Defensive Pokemon With Recovery**: Hippowdon, Alomomola, Slowbro, physically defensive Suicune, and physically defensive Mandibuzz are able to easily avoid the 2HKO from any of Crobat's attacks and heal off the damage, especially if Crobat goes without Taunt.

**Stealth Rock**: Crobat takes 1/4 of its maximum HP of damage each time it switches into Stealth Rock.

**Choice Scarf Users**: Choice Scarf users above base 70 Speed such as Infernape, Darmanitan, and Hydreigon outspeed Crobat and threaten to KO or severely damage it with their attacks.

Teams options needs to be fleshed out more, stuff like ''Pokemon with weaknesses to Fighting-, Bug-, Grass-, or Ground-type attacks usually appreciate Crobat's set of resistances'' or ''Offensive Grass-types also pair well with Crobat'' are meaningless if you dont give actual examples. You also dont need to repeat the exact same bullet points in team options for every single set, try to focus more on teammates that compliment that particular set and what its trying to accomplish instead of always reminding the reader to pack an aero counter. Put choice scarf users on c&c. QC:1/3

in the overview add to the point about buzzwole that its also a good check to conk. might as well add that because theyre both prominent fighting types in the meta atm

you dont mention any of crobats flaws in the overview - the first thing that comes to mind is that it kinda struggles against teams with things like mega aero, slowbro, really the things you mentioned in c&c (you dont need to shove everything from that in there though, just the significant ones)

on the first set crobat without uturn seems kinda bad, honestly id deshlash defog from the 4th slot since bat can function without it

qc 2/3 once this is done

========

Moves
========

Brave Bird is Crobat's strongest STAB move, capable of pressuring the opponent well by dealing decent damage to most of the tier. Acrobatics is an alternative STAB move that is less powerful and causes forces Crobat to forego an item (RC) but does not cause recoil damage. U-turn is an excellent move that allows Crobat to pivot into other team members while dealing minor damage and punishing switches.

Set Details
========
A spread of 248 HP / 36 Atk / 224 Spe with a Jolly nature is used in order to outspeed Talonflame to and prevent it from setting up a Swords Dance by using via Taunt while having a good amount of bulk and keeping as much offensive presence as possible. An alternative spread of 248 HP / 76 Atk / 184 Spe with a Jolly nature can be used in order to still outspeed Mega Pidgeot if the team is not concerned with shutting Talonflame down or outspeeding the occasional Swellow. Crobat's ability of Infiltrator allows it Crobat to bypass Substitute, Reflect, and Aurora Veil, which helps it damage Buzzwole and Alolan Ninetales.

Usage Tips
========

========

Pokemon that can switch into predicted Ice-type attacks from Mamoswine, such as Cobalion, make good partners for Crobat, as Crobat takes massive damage from Ice Shard and Icicle Crash.

name: Bandbat Choice Band
move 1: Brave Bird

evs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe

Moves
========

Set Details
========

Usage Tips
========

Crobat should be used to force out or OHKO Pokemon that are frail or weak to Flying such as Buzzwole, Starmie, Buzzwole, and Conkeldurr. Crobat can also be used to 2HKO bulkier Pokemon such as Volcanion, Mega Blastoise, and specially defensive Gliscor on the switch (RC) or heavily dent them in a one-on-one situation. Keep in mind, however, that Dragon Pulse from Mega Sceptile 2HKOes and that Knock Off from Mega Beedrill can lessen Crobat's offensive power by removing its Choice Band.

Team Options
========

As an extension of this, Pokemon checked or countered by Buzzwole like Mega Beedrill heavily appreciate Crobat's ability to OHKO Buzzwole through its substitute Substitute.

Other Options
=============

Other (remove asterisk) fourth moves can be considered for the Choice Band set, such as Steel Wing for Mega Aerodactyl and Tailwind for a last-ditch support effort, but these are usually inferior to Sleep Talk's utility.

Checks and Counters
===================
