DP Tropius

Tropius can use leech seed and roost rather well and playing defensive and not offensive is not always a bad idea. This Tropius is the perfect blend of offense and defense.

99/83/97 are very good defensive stats for a UU pokemon so please don't just say he is easily outclassed. I actually used this for a while successfully.

[SET]
Name: Tropic Roost
Move 1: Leech Seed
Move 2: Roost
Move 3: Air Slash / Substitute
Move 4: Energy Ball / SolarBeam
Item: Leftovers
Ability: Chlorophyll
Nature: Bold / Calm
EVs: 252 Def / 96 SpA / 160 SpD

Tropius has very good defensive stats, especially when combined with Leech Seed and Roost. That alone makes Tropius a very sturdy wall. Although an offensive Solar Power Tropius is very powerful and usually the preferred choice, the defensive side of this Pokemon should not be overlooked.

This set is best executed by switching Tropius into an attack that it resists or is immune to, Leech Seeding the incoming Pokemon, and Roosting or attacking accordingly. It is recommended that Sunny Day support is used alongside this set. In the sun, Tropius receives a speed boost and Solar Beam no longer requires a turn in order to charge. Energy Ball is a viable alternative if Sunny Day support is not available.

The choice between Air Slash and Substitute is a tough. Substitute gives Tropius an immunity to status. Roost and Leech Seed heal the damage taken in order to set up a Substitute, so Tropius can utilize this move more effectively. On the other hand, Air Slash kills any Grass-types who are immune to Leech Seed. Air Slash also gives Tropius a secondary STAB attack while greatly improving its type coverage.

Because Tropius already has gargantuan HP, EVs should be focused primarily on the defenses. With a lower HP stat, Leech Seed will heal more HP percentage wise, giving Tropius more chances to set up a Substitute or switch into Stealth Rock.

Tropius has very good defensive stats, as well as Leech Seed and Roost. That alone makes Tropius a very powerful wall. Simply switch into an attack Tropius resists or is immune to such as Ground, Fighting, Water, or Grass. Leech Seed the incoming Pokemon, begin to Roost off whenever neccessary, and attack when you can. It is recommended to use this set in the sun where Tropius receives a speed boost, and a power up that benefits SolarBeam. If you are afraid Sunny Day might not come up, Grass Knot is a fine replacement.

Appropriate punctuation was needed, some sentences sounded awkward as well, which I fixed above.

Give Substitute a mention in Set Comments, as it functions well with Leech seed and allows it to scout out attacks too. Its 4x Ice weak isn't appealing, so Substitute can benefit it (Substituting on the switch etc.).

Consider Toxic as another option, over Substitute or Grass Knot. Take that Gurmpig/Hypno!

Plus, opponents can just switch out of Leech Seed anyways, Toxic is more permanent.

Otherwise, you could just have a Teammate with Toxic Spikes.

Tropius has very good defensive stats, coupled with Leech Seed and Roost. That alone makes Tropius a great wall. Simply switch into an attack Tropius resists or is immune to such Fighting, Water, Grass, or Ground respectively. Leech Seed the incoming Pokemon, and begin to Roost off whenever necessary, attacking when you can. It is recommended to use this set in the sun where Tropius receives a speed boost, and a power up that benefits SolarBeam. If you are afraid Sunny Day might not come up, Grass Knot is a fine replacement.

Coupled sounds better than, "as well as." You said resitst first, and then immunitites so I listed them that way. The rest are just little nit picks, and you spelt necessary wrong at first.

Energy Ball is better than GK in UU, since Quagsire / Gastrodon (e.g. the things trying to kill you with Ice Beam) are lighter. Otherwise, hey look Tropius might not be utter shit!

It is recommended to use this set in the sun where Tropius receives a speed boost,(don't need the comma, it's just for lists of three or more)and a power up that benefits SolarBeam. If you are afraid Sunny Day might not come up, Grass Knot is a fine replacement. (same here, but here it is a period)

I made all neccesary changes suggested and added much more detail. I plan on doing this for all my peer edits. How does this look now?

Big post ahead.

Tropius has very good defensive stats, coupled with Leech Seed and Roost.
This doesn't really make sense. There are more than two things here, so coupled isn't the appropriate word choice. Consider changing this to:
Tropius has very good defensive stats, especially when combined with Leech Seed and Roost.

That alone makes Tropius a very powerful wall.
Once again, "powerful" isn't really the right choice. "Sturdy" would probably make more sense here.

Although Solar Power is a great ability to make use of and an offensive Tropius is usually very powerful, you can not underestimate the defensive version.
And this is really convoluted. Change to:
Although an offensive Solar Power Tropius is very powerful and usually the preferred choice, the defensive side of this Pokemon should not be overlooked.
or something of that sort.

The idea is to switch into an attack Tropius resists or is immune to such as Fighting, Water, Grass, or Ground respectively. Leech Seed the incoming Pokemon, and begin to Roost off whenever neccessary, and whenever neccesary, attacking when you can.
This isn't really coherent at all. Change to:
"This set is best executed by switching Tropius into an attack that it resists or is immune to, Leech Seeding the incoming Pokemon, and Roosting or attacking accordingly."

It is recommended to use this set in the sun where Tropius receives a speed boost and a power up that benefits SolarBeam. If you are afraid Sunny Day might not come up, Energy Ball is a fine replacement.

The choice between Air Slash and Substitute is a tough one and should be looked upon carefully.
Strange word choice. I would probably just end this sentence after tough.
"The choice between Air Slash and Substitute is tough."

Substitute gives Tropius an immunity to status. Roost and Leech Seed heal the damage taken in order to set up a Substitute, so Tropius can utilize this move more effectively. On the other hand, Air Slash kills any Grass-types who are immune to Leech Seed (deleted). Air Slash also gives Tropius a secondary STAB attack while greatly improving its type coverage.
Strange word choice once again... Fixed the grammar and reworded some things.

Although Tropius has gargantuan HP, you shall want to focus on the Defenses. Leech Seed will heal more HP percentage wise, meaning you have more chances to set up a Substitute or switch in and out of Stealth Rock.
Because Tropius already has gargantuan HP, EVs should be focused primarily on the defenses. With a lower HP stat, Leech Seed will heal more HP percentage wise, giving Tropius more chances to set up a Substitute or switch into Stealth Rock.

Sorry if I changed too much.
