DPPtHGSS "Ragequit"

This is a nice team for me, not so much for the opponent. Here is a battle log if you wanna see it. I don't know just how good the opponent was, but he/she lost after a 5-1 lead. I removed the opponent's username and replaced it with [Opponent]. I listed our Pokemon in the beginning just to make reading easier.

If you want to read the log, I suggest starting from Turn 46.

If tl;dr, My Togekiss missed an Air Slash, resulting in death against the opponent's paralyzed CM Jirachi. My Jirachi stepped in and got a lucky free sub when the opponent was completely paralyzed, then I Fire Punched it.
Next up was Heatran with 5%, simple Iron Head.
This was the hardest, ChestoRest Kingdra. I started by paralyzing it with Body Slam and flinching, but it got a DD and Rest in. After that I paralyzed it again and flinched it to death with the help of sandstorm. I still had a sub up.
Flygon uses EQ with low health and I KO it. Jirachi is at full health, no sub.
Shaymin was previously weakened as well, and Fire Punch doesn't do enough to kill it and it uses Leech Seed. However, the sandstorm kills it first.
Then the opponent doesn't say gg to me ):

Introduction

This is my 7th RMT. I couldn't resist posting this early cause I just made it a few days ago and I've only posted 1 RMT in the past 2 years, since I've been gone from Pokemon.
I remember when Jirachi suddenly got a usage spike because of Iron Head. It started dominating leads with the Choice Scarf set, and a Paraflinch set was pretty usable until people realized that Jirachi was probably the best abuser of hax.
Speaking of paraflinch, Togekiss.
And speaking of hax, DynamicPunch + Confusion.

Team Building

I have made stall teams before, and offensive teams are more of my thing. This was something new.
Stall teams are consistent, and this is very different. It can hax, but the hax is pretty much all 60% (except for confusion) so that's like the opposite of consistency. However, when it does work, it works wonders, which definitely makes up for it. It is even more annoying than stall teams. This is a balanced team.

The first thing I wanted was Jirachi + Machamp, the 2 best abusers of hax.

Jirachi uses a Paraflinch set while Machamp uses a RestTalk set, partly because of the sandstorm from Tyranitar, who will help Machamp against Ghost Types and help the two against Starmie, who has Natural Cure.

I also wanted to use Celebi to further spread paralysis. If a paralysed Pokemon is up against Machamp or Jirachi, it’s Paraflinch or Parafusion, with a 30% or 37.5% chance to move, respectively. Rotom-a could be problematic as it resists Iron Head and is immune to DynamicPunch, so Tyranitar could help with that.
However, the main reasons for using Celebi were to attack Hippowdon and bulky water-types, and lure Pursuit users to set up or ghost types to take out with Tyranitar. Celebi is also a check to Starmie.

Next I thought I would come up with a lead, and possibly another Pokemon to assist that lead. My first thought was Swampert for Stealth Rock, and to keep Gliscor wary and to check water types like Gyarados, Kingdra, and Suicune, as well as Infernape. Swampert could also check Rotom-a and phase with Roar.

I considered a ghost type such as Rotom-a, but sandstorm would wear it down and I didn’t have much utility for it when I was building the team, and I didn’t have a lot of entry hazards to spinblock for. I settled on Togekiss to attack Machamp and for extra paralysis and flinch hax. As an plus, more special defense and Jirachi could use Body Slam instead of Thunder Wave to paralyse ground-type checks, since Togekiss and Celebi, who scare off ground-types, could use Thunder Wave.

They're all pretty bulky. The paralyzers are shorter.

In Depth

Swampert

@ Leftovers
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 248 HP / 216 Def / 44 SDef
Relaxed Nature (+Def, -Spd)
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Ice Beam
- Roar

It can be tough for Swampert to get an advantageous lead matchup, but he's just hard to kill, with only 1 weakness to a somewhat uncommon attacking type.
This is the basic Smogon set. I have no preference as to what to use on the set, since I had never really used Swampert. I wanted Roar to phaze those that Tyranitar could not outspeed, such as DD Gyarados and DD Kingdra.
As a lead, Swampert can do well against Heatran, Infernape, Metagross, Gliscor, Tyranitar, and I can't think of what else. Against Roserade, I can switch to Machamp and start Sleep Talking, or switch to Celebi in case I want to avoid problems with Leaf Storm.
It's not a big deal sacrificing Swampert late game to find out a set, such as of Infernape, Zapdos, or Jolteon, since Swampert is slow and probably weakened. Once Stealth Rock is up and threats have been checked and scouted, I can decide whether or not Swampert has permission to die.

Swampert is the type of Pokemon where I don't feel either player has an advantage. Against offensive teams, Swampert has an advantage simply by staying alive, but his HP slowly goes down and I can't even do that much damage. If Swampert cannot hit the opponent for a lot of damage, the best case scenario is the opponent has Life Orb and needs a lot of hits to kill Swampert. Infernape without Grass Knot are very good for Swampert. If I predict a switch, I can just Roar their Swampert-counter away while racking up Stealth Rock damage.
With all the paralysis in this team, Swampert actually has chances to attack. Natural Cure on Shaymin and Celebi is depressing for Swampert who can hit them with Ice Beam, but that's why I have Togekiss, who can take their special attacks and hit them with super effective STAB Air Slash.

Jirachi

@ Leftovers
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 164 HP / 168 Atk / 176 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Substitute
- Body Slam
- Iron Head
- Fire Punch

This Jirachi is like the definition of infinite fun. I haven't had much time to test this team, but I can proudly say that I have killed at least 3 Heatrans with this (not from full health).
Body Slam catches ground types switching in expecting Thunder Wave, or just acting as a check. This set is uncommon enough that it can actually be a surprise. Fire Punch is for the best coverage, since I don't plan to hit Heatran for any reason other than to flinch it.
Substitute is to block status and just act as a barrier against those I'm flinching, so they know that they're not even close to killing me. 4 turns of Leftovers recovery is not hard to gain with 60% flinch rate and paralysis, and it's possible that the opponent cannot break Jirachi's substitutes.

Bulky water-types and ground types threaten this, which is what Celebi aims to eliminate. If they are not eliminated, other Pokemon can get paralyzed by Thunder Wave.
Rotom-a also resists Iron Head while being immune to Body Slam, so Tyranitar helps with that. As a bonus, Jirachi's opponents are worn down by sandstorm.
I could switch Body Slam to Thunder Wave, as Heatran seems to be the most common switch-in to Jirachi and is crippled by it and Jirachi can switch out. If I have a choice, I'll never try to flinch a Heatran to death unless it's almost dead or I have a sub up.

Machamp

@ Leftovers
Ability: No Guard
EVs: 244 HP / 252 Atk / 12 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Rest
- Sleep Talk
- DynamicPunch
- Ice Punch

This set, so far, hasn't been as effective as I wanted it to be. However, even without Stone Edge, it's not worthless against Gyarados, who gets confusion or parafusion. Rest is the only way to heal Machamp, and I don't want him going down. he can also be a sleep absorber, as both of his attacks hit Breloom hard.
It's great to eliminate Gliscor with Ice Punch, otherwise he becomes too big of a problem for my team. It also KOs dragon-types (except Kingdra) and does decent damage to Zapdos.
Any Machamp not in the lead slot is always unexpected, and if, for example, the opponent's only solution to Machamp is their Colbur Berry Azelf lead who already exploded, Machamp becomes extremely effective.
Some teams forget to account for mid-game Machamp when checking for threats, and opponents often lack flying-type moves to KO Machamp with.

A pure fighting-type is great, since the weaknesses (flying and psychic) are probably the least common attacking types in OU along with poison. At least 99% of teams don't have a psychic-type attack, and Togekiss is quite rare while Skarmory and Gyarados might have a flying-type attack. Yanmega is extremely uncommon and I haven't seen a Staraptor ever, not like it can even switch in to Machamp's attacks.

Celebi

@ Life Orb
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 232 HP / 240 SAtk / 36 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Thunder Wave
- Leaf Storm
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Recover

This is the Tinkerbell set for Celebi on the Smogon analysis. It's strong yet bulky, and aids the strategy of this team with Thunder Wave. Recover over Rest to stall opponents and because Celebi causes switches, allowing some free healing.
Ground- and water-types are threatened by Celebi's STAB move, while it can still kill other grass types and Scizor with Hidden Power Fire. Flygon is annoying to deal with, but it is OHKOed if it switches into +0 Leaf Storm.

Choice Scarf Heatran switching into Thunder Wave just tells me that it wants to get flinched to death by 4x resisted Iron Head.
In fact, Heatran switching in aren't just cozy with a 4x resist, as +0 Leaf Storm can hit up to 25%, possibly 37% of its HP with Stealth Rock.

Usually the opponent predicts a Leaf Storm, so Flygon doesn't want to switch in. Anything that can take a Leaf Storm can be hit by Thunder Wave. Roserade can be trouble with Natural Cure, But Hidden-Power Fire usually does well enough, while Celebi is bulky enough to take it from Roserade as well.

Celebi is also the best answer to Breloom, being immune to Leech Seed and resistant to its STABs, neutral to Stone Edge. Celebi also has Natural Cure. The problem is not being able to wake up without switching, so Machamp is usually another good answer to Breloom. Machamp can take the Spore while I switch to Celebi to deal with Breloom, or I can Sleep Talk with Machamp. DynamicPunch and 2x effective Ice Punch have the same power, so the only thing wrong with that is choosing Rest by chance.

Tyranitar

@ Choice Scarf
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Stone Edge
- Crunch
- Pursuit
- Earthquake

It's either this, Scizor, or Weavile. Scizor would add a 3rd fire weakness, which is unpleasant with all the Heatrans running around now. Weavile would also do this, while being extremely frail, vulnerable to sandstorm, and weak to Stealth Rock.

Tyranitar has the most utility for this team outside of Pursuit, when compared to the other Pursuit users. Snorlax was a possibility, but, you know, it's Snorlax. Who does it better than Tyranitar, right?

However, I hate Stone Edge. I'm pretty sure I missed against a Gyarados and almost lost the game because my Tyranitar died that turn. I would use Rock Slide, but the power's not even worth it.
I chose Earthquake over Superpower, cause I don't think Blissey is much of a problem, other than by being fat and annoying and immortal like every Blissey in the world. Earthquake has more general utility, like hitting Heatran for more damage and hitting electric-types barring Rotom-a. It still hits opposing Tyranitar for good damage.

Tyranitar's purpose, like that of all ScarfTar, is to trap and kill psychic- and ghost-types. The great thing about Pursuit is that it doesn't even need to be super effective. Extremely weakened Blissey can be taken out too, or if it is switching. The specific Pokemon I need Tyranitar to eliminate are Starmie and Rotom-a. Gengar is always annoying, so eliminating Gengar is a nice bonus.

I don't know if sandstorm is a plus or not, since it cancels out the Leftovers on Togekiss, Machamp, and Celebi. Togekiss has Roost which kind of makes up for it when compared to Jirachi's lack of a recovery move, and Celebi can use Recover and Machamp can use Rest. The good thing about sandstorm is that it helps to damage annoying Pokemon like Gyarados and Zapdos, who also take a lot of damage from Stealth Rock. The flinching process is also aided by sandstorm, since I don't expect to do a lot of damage with Air Slash and Iron Head, especially if I have to spam it when it's resisted.

Opposing teams with Gliscor don't even need to summon their own sandstorm to make Gliscor annoying with Sand Veil. The thing that ticks me off most about Pokemon battling is inaccurate moves, and Gliscor lowers everything to Stone Edge accuracy. I'm fine with 90% and 95% accuracy like Overheat, Leaf Storm, Air Slash, and Leech Seed, but 85%- I cannot accept. I never use moves like Fire Blast, Sleep Powder, Stone Edge (except for STAB and Machamp), or Meteor Mash. That also means I never use Metagross or Roserade and I refrain from using Tyranitar. The only case for which I would use Fire Blast is Flygon, because I think he doesn't learn Flamethrower.

In fact, every single Pokemon in my last RMT had all 100% accurate moves, except Machamp's Stone Edge, which can't miss anyway. This team has 3 inaccurate moves, 2 of which are 90%+.

Togekiss

@ Leftovers
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 HP / 188 Def / 68 SDef
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Thunder Wave
- Air Slash
- Aura Sphere
- Roost

Togekiss is the 3rd and final hax-mon. Air Slash is only slightly worse in power than Iron Head with 95% accuracy and 5 less base power, but Togekiss has a higher base special attack stat. Air Slash also generally just has better neutral coverage than Iron Head.
Aura Sphere makes a great accompanying move for near perfect coverage (hopefully Rotom-a is removed by Tyranitar). Roost because he can, and Jirachi can't. One of them should be able to heal, or my own sandstorm = I lose.

When I put Togekiss on the team, I decided to take away Thunder Wave on Jirachi to give it Body Slam. So far it hasn't made a difference, other than the fact that Body Slam actually does damage, but I don't want Jirachi to get owned by ground types like Swampert and Gliscor.

Togekiss is a nice surprise, as most teams don't pack checks like they do for Heatran and Starmie. Although Togekiss is a little more predictable than Jirachi, he still works very well. The main difference is his lack of Substitute, but greater defenses and Roost. Togekiss also packs an immunity to ground-type moves, which, alongside Celebi, helps greatly to spread around paralysis to non-ground types. Electivire, Jolteon, Raikou, and Zapdos are all checked by Swampert, Tyranitar, or Celebi.

Even with Roost, often Togekiss is not as useful as Jirachi. Jirachi is faster, and has Substitute. Without a increase in HP after sandstorm and Leftovers, Togekiss requires a healing move and cannot operate with Substitute. The other option is Wish, but it's not good to switch out a flincher.
Togekiss has 2 immunities and 2 resistances, while Jirachi has 1 immunity and 8 resistances, one of them being 4x. This gives Jirachi a much easier time switching in to wreak havoc while being immune to sandstorm and resistant to Stealth Rock. Togekiss loses 25% HP just by switching in to Stealth Rock. Jirachi's speed also allows it to flinch without the need for paralysis.
However, Togekiss is bulkier on both defensive sides, has access to Roost, has a STAB that is resisted by less Pokemon, better type coverage, and less exploitable weaknesses.

Often Togekiss is sacrificed while flinching. I find it more important to keep Jirachi alive, as he does better late in the game with Substitute. I play more carefully with Jirachi.

Threats

No threat list, but threats I have identified from testing this team are:
Gliscor
Starmie

I didn't get much time to test the team, and I hadn't faced a lot of stall teams so I'm not sure about those.
Machamp can be trouble to get rid of.

Please give comments or suggestions!

I don't think Gliscor and Starmie are that problematic to be honest. Machamp can take a few Earthquakes while Celebi is a pretty safe switch in. Swampert hates Toxic but it's a great counter nonetheless. Starmie is hard to switch into but you can pivot between Celebi and Tyranitar and trap it fairly easily.

The big problem I see is Taunt DD Gyarados. Most run Bounce and Waterfall meaning they can just plow through your team almost entirely if Jirachi is slightly weakened. It also has quite a few opportunities to set up, such as on Swampert, Machamp, and Tyranitar locked onto anything but Stone Edge. It's nearly impossible to counter Gyarados without sacrificing the integrity of your team, but the only thing I could recommend would be to run Hidden Power Electric over Roar on Swampert because as it stands you really can't hurt it at all. Another possibility would be to promote either Celebi or Tyranitar to the lead position and giving them Stealth Rock, and then replacing Swampert with a more reliable counter like a bulky Starmie or Vaporeon.

I guess other than that I'd just watch out for DD Dragonite by keeping Swampert alive as long as you can. If stall troubles you then you could run Sub + 3 attack Machamp, though RestTalk does fine against stall if you can wear down Rotom-A and trap it with Tyranitar. Cool team, very similar to IPL's ST7 winning team.
