NU Guzzlord

[OVERVIEW]

Guzzlord has a huge HP stat as well as a solid defensive typing that gives it many useful resistances to common types such as Fire, Grass, and Psychic, allowing it to check many of the tier's top threats such as Rotom-C, Delphox, and Slowbro. Its good offensive typing combined with its access to coverage options and high-Base Power STAB moves allows it to hit pretty much every Pokemon in the tier hard. Because of this, Guzzlord fits well on offensive or balanced teams as a wallbreaker that can hit hard and take hits nicely at the same time. However, its high HP stat is offset by mediocre defenses, making it less bulky than it would seem. Its typing, while giving it crucial resistances, also gives it weaknesses to common types like Fighting, Bug, Fairy, and Ice, and the popularity of Pokemon such as Vanilluxe, Emboar, Whimsicott, and Vikavolt makes these weaknesses prevalent in most matches Guzzlord will be used in. It's also rather slow, being outsped by almost the entire metagame.

Moves
========

Draco Meteor is Guzzlord's strongest STAB move and deals heavy damage to anything not resistant or immune to it, but it drops Guzzlord's Special Attack by two stages, leaving it vulnerable to being set up on and has slightly imperfect accuracy. Dark Pulse is a consistent, drawback-free STAB move with high PP and 100% accuracy that nothing is immune to and few Pokemon resist, making it an extremely spammable move. Fire Blast hits Steel-types, OHKOing Steelix and Togedemaru, as well as Whimsicott, which would otherwise tank a Draco Meteor, and it also hits Pokemon such as Virizion harder than Draco Meteor. Sludge Bomb covers the rare Fairy-type, such as Mega Audino, Granbull, and Aromatisse, and OHKOes Whimsicott without risking a miss.

Set Details
========

Maximum Special Attack investment with a Modest nature makes Guzzlord as strong as possible. 196 Special Defense EVs allow Guzzlord to more easily switch into Rotom-C and Slowbro, while 60 Speed EVs let it outspeed uninvested Vikavolt, Granbull, and Druddigon, and uninvested base 50s like Piloswine. Choice Specs turns Guzzlord into a stronger wallbreaker. Beast Boost is the only ability Guzzlord has, and it boosts Guzzlord's Special Attack by one stage when it KOes another Pokemon.

Usage Tips
========

Guzzlord takes advantage of more passive playstyles, so you should switch it into passive Pokemon such as Slowbro and Seismitoad to start breaking holes in the opposing team. Guzzlord's STAB moves are very spammable because Fairy-types in NU are not very common. It is not uncommon to find inconsistent Draco Meteor switch-ins, so it's probably the move you should spam the most, but if you don't want Guzzlord to be turned into setup fodder, Dark Pulse is also very spammable. Don't lock Guzzlord into Sludge Bomb or Fire Blast if the opposing team has something that can take advantage of that, such as Mismagius, Houndoom, or Delphox. Guzzlord can't handle Pokemon such as Rotom-C consistently if entry hazards are up, so make sure you clear them before attempting to switch in, or else Guzzlord will get worn down.

Team Options
========

Guzzlord is a good pick on teams that need a Grass-, Water-, and Fire-type check and a wallbreaker in one Pokemon, so pairing it with Pokemon such as Slowbro and Sneasel is a good idea. Fighting-type checks such as Slowbro and Mismagius are appreciated to deal with Pokemon such as Hitmonlee and Emboar. Entry hazard setters like Garbodor, Seismitoad, and Froslass can set up Spikes and Stealth Rock to wear down Guzzlord's defensive answers, like Mega Audino, and can punish Pokemon such as Steelix that want to switch into Draco Meteor. Guzzlord appreciates Volt Switch and U-turn users such as Rotom-C, Vikavolt, Mesprit, and Xatu to bring it in safely.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Sludge Wave hits slightly harder than Sludge Bomb, but Sludge Bomb's poison chance is too good to pass up. Assault Vest can be used to make Guzzlord a bulky special tank, but it's weaker than Choice Specs and can get worn down. Dragonium Z can give Guzzlord a strong Devastating Drake, but it leaves the rest of Guzzlord's moves substantially weaker.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Fairy-types**: No Fairy-type can safely switch into Sludge Bomb, but Pokemon such as Mega Audino, Whimsicott, Granbull, and Aromatisse can switch into Dark Pulse and Draco Meteor easily and retaliate with a STAB move.

**Fighting-types**: Fighting-types such as Hitmonlee, Emboar, and Hariyama can't switch into Draco Meteor, but once they're safely against Guzzlord, they can OHKO it with a strong STAB move.

**Faster Attackers**: Faster attackers such as Sneasel, Vanilluxe, Accelgor, and Sceptile can outspeed Guzzlord and significantly damage it with a super effective STAB or coverage move.

**Type: Null**: Type: Null is one of the hardest Guzzlord checks in the tier due to its insane bulk, easily stomaching anything Guzzlord throws at it and being able to set up on it with Swords Dance in return, and Type: Null also has Rest to check Guzzlord throughout a match.

Remove Beast Boost from the Overview, it's not important enough to be there because of how rarely it comes into play

Deslash Flamethrower

Mention that 60 Speed EVs also beats uninvested base 50s like Piloswine

AV in OO

QC 1/3

Moves:

You should mention that sbomb also beats whimsicott w/o having the fear of missing unlike fire blast, as it can beat it if whims tries to switch into guzz.

Team Options:

Mesprit isn't the best example for a fighting type check. find something else. you misspelled "mespirit" in the volt-turn part btw.

OO:

I don't think the part about physical guzz is a good idea. it's really really bad and should never be used so it's not worth to write smth about it, also not a fan of flamethrower at all

C&C:

Vivillon has no "super effective stab" that hits guzzlord. reword it or replace vivi w/ smth else.

This is good, qc 2/3

Add Dragonium-Z to OO and a section for Type-Null in C&C since it's the hardest check to Guzzlord in the tier.
