reserving fire punch ttar

Tyranitar @ Choice Band
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Stone Edge
- Crunch
- Pursuit
- Fire Punch

Choice Band Tyranitar isn't nearly as common as it was last generation, but it can still be an effective Pokemon. Fire Punch OHKOes Mega Scizor after Stealth Rock damage and has a 50% chance to OHKO it without. This set also has the utility of luring in and OHKOing standard Ferrothorn. I've found that pairing it with something like DD Zygarde can actually be pretty effective, as this set is able to Pursuit trap / lure common Zygarde answers like Mew, Scarf Lati, and Mega Scizor.

this sounds really stupid but actually has a field day versus the ladder.

MAGIC MAN (Clefable) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature / Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Moonblast
- Fire Blast
- Ice Beam / Counter / Endeavor / Thunder Wave / Knock Off
- Stealth Rock / (Things that are found above can also fit here)

The premise is deceptively simple, Mega Scizor would easily be invited to come in and attempt to Defog your hazards one way or another, which of course this Clefable cleanly roasts. Modest can be used for overall power but Timid lets you get the jump on something like Defensive Landorus-T and smack it heavily with an Ice Beam. This set is quite effective at baiting a lot of Pokemon like Mega Mawile and deleting them straight up. In general, it's a set that abuses the prominence of metagame threats, and dismantles them efficiently as it can often feign the harmless support set T1. If the premise is revealed somewhere in the battle, it can still act as an emergency stop to a potential threat thanks to Focus Sash. While one might consider it a waste of a support Clefable, it independently does work on its own and fills a different niche entirely (in this case luring several amounts of Pokemon / being a panic check to certain threats with Sash + Counter / Endeavor / Coverage move / Thunder Wave). It also doesn't prevent you from running Stealth Rock :V

252 SpA Clefable Fire Blast vs. 248 HP / 0 SpD Scizor-Mega: 388-460 (113.1 - 134.1%) -- guaranteed OHKO
(you outpace 16 Spe MZor with either Timid/Modest)
252 SpA Clefable Fire Blast vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Magearna: 172-204 (57.1 - 67.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252+ SpA Clefable Fire Blast vs. 40 HP / 0 SpD Mawile-Mega: 222-262 (88.4 - 104.3%) -- 25% chance to OHKO (you kind of beat it either way with Timid as they'll most likely be attempting to SD, or if they're slightly weakened already.)
252 SpA Clefable Ice Beam vs. 252 HP / 24 SpD Landorus-Therian: 372-440 (97.3 - 115.1%) -- 81.3% chance to OHKO

Magearna @ Fairium Z
Ability: Soul-Heart
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Shift Gear
- Hidden Power Fire
- Fleur Cannon
- Thunderbolt

A bit of an unorthodox set, this Magearna trades the ability to hit Heatran for an easier matchup vs Mega Scizor, which usually comes in on SG 3 Attacks sets and just walls completely unless you win mindgames with AoP. Fleur Cannon is used alongside Fairium Z for a strong nuke, capable of destroying other SG 3 Attacks checks such as Mew and Clefable while maintaining coverage against Zygarde and Landorus-T, Thunderbolt is used on the last slot to hit Toxapex and Celesteela as well as Mantine for super effective damage and is almost a must on most Magearnas

Only relevant calc: 252 SpA Magearna Hidden Power Fire vs. 248 HP / 0 SpD Scizor-Mega: 264-312 (76.9 - 90.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Kyurem-Black @ Life Orb / Icium Z
Ability: Teravolt
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive / Rash / Naughty Nature
- Ice Beam / Freeze Shock
- Fusion Bolt
- Earth Power
- Hidden Power [Fire]
Most Kyurem-B tend to just run that cookie-cutter Ice Beam+Freeze Shock+Fusion+EPower set, and that means that it can have a difficult time when it comes to being faced with Scizor; however, with HP Fire, Kyurem-B is very capable of removing Scizor as it switches into it, which in turn allows it to have free reign when it comes to spamming its other STAB attacks vs its opponent. Whats more, HP Fire's uses extend beyond just targetting Scizor; it allows the LO set to break through Ferrothorn consistently while also allowing Kyurem-B to save its Subzero Slammer for a different Pokemon on the opposing team. It also nails... uh, actually that's p. much the extent of its usefulness lol; all other Ice resists either get boned harder by Fusion Bolt or Earth Power.

I feel like this isn't too much of a lure because Hidden Power Fire is the most commonly used option in tours from what I've seen, but this is still a really solid set.

Magearna @ Electrium Z
Ability: Soul-Heart
EVs: 120 HP / 136 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Calm Mind
- Shift Gear
- Thunderbolt
- Ice Beam

As far as I've seen, most people run Leftovers on DD Magearna sets since Calm Mind kinda fills the need for something to get the Soul-Heart train going, however a Z-Move is still perfectly fine. Normally, SG Magearna can't break Mega Scizor with Gigavolt Havoc alone as it only does upwards 55%. However, with Calm Mind it can easily decimate it as well as other roadblocks such as Heatran, Clefable, Mew, etc early on with O/2HKOes so a single boost is all that's needed. The set in general greatly appreciates Spikes or chip for closer KO's.

+1 136 SpA Magearna Gigavolt Havoc (175 BP) vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Mega Scizor: 262-309 (76.1 - 89.8%) -- 18.8% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock
+1 136 SpA Magearna Gigavolt Havoc (175 BP) vs. 240 HP / 0 SpD Mew: 263-310 (65.5 - 77.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock
+1 136 SpA Magearna Gigavolt Havoc (175 BP) vs. 212 HP / 0 SpD Heatran: 250-295 (66.4 - 78.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery
+1 136 SpA Magearna Gigavolt Havoc (175 BP) vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Clefable: 286-337 (72.5 - 85.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
