Carracosta @ Waterium Z
Ability: Solid Rock
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive/Rash Nature
- Shell Smash
- Hydro Pump
- Stone Edge
- Ice Beam

I don't know what to say, made a set to lure that threat.

Calcs:
252 SpA Carracosta Hydro Vortex (185 BP) vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Weezing: 297-351 (88.9 - 105%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock
252+ SpA Carracosta Hydro Vortex (185 BP) vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Weezing: 327-385 (97.9 - 115.2%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock

Yung Dramps

awesome gaming

Passimian @ Groundium Z/Life Orb
Ability: Vital Spirit
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant/Jolly Nature
- Smack Down
- Earthquake
- U-turn
- Close Combat

252 Atk Passimian Smack Down vs. 252 HP / 164+ Def Weezing: 35-42 (10.4 - 12.5%) -- possible 8HKO
252 Atk Passimian Tectonic Rage (180 BP) vs. 252 HP / 164+ Def Weezing: 252-298 (75.4 - 89.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252 Atk Life Orb Passimian Earthquake vs. 252 HP / 164+ Def Weezing: 182-216 (54.4 - 64.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

On the switch, smack 'em down, then Tectonic Rage/LO Earthquake. Nobody knows or cares what Smack Down does unless you're one of those weirdos who used/uses Smack Down Lando-T in OU, so they may not switch immediately.

Absol @ Lum Berry
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Knock Off
- Sucker Punch
- Iron Tail

Under normal circumstances, Absol hates Weezing. It eats up anything that Absol throws at it and then burns it in return. However, this set contains a peculiar item that most people seem to neglect, and that's the Lum Berry. While not being as strong as Life Orb, it allows it to set up twice on Weezing without any real risk.

Combined with the other move choices, it can beat nasty cores involving Weezing such as Weezing + Togetic and Weezing + Sableye (Can't be burned regardless of Lum Berry.) Outside of being a Weezing lure, it also has a good matchup versus other status users, denying Regirock's Thunder Wave or Lilligant's Sleep Powder.

I chose an Adamant nature so that it can act as a wallbreaker first and a late-game cleaner second, with a STAB Sucker Punch under its belt.

+2 252+ Atk Absol Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 252 HP / 164+ Def Weezing: 237-279 (70.9 - 83.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Black Sludge recovery

+4 252+ Atk Absol Knock Off (97.5 BP) vs. 252 HP / 164+ Def Weezing: 354-417 (105.9 - 124.8%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Electivire @ Psychium Z
Ability: Motor Drive
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Wild Charge
- Psychic
- Ice Punch
- Volt Switch

Inspired from ORAS PU when Electabuzz ran Psychic to take on Muk, Psychium-Z Electivire can be used to lure Weezing into thinking its a Physical Scarf set with Volt Switch. To pull this lure off convincingly, its important to pretend you are choice-locked. When Weezing comes in on a "choice-locked" Wild Charge or Ice Punch, bop it for the kill.

4 SpA Electivire Shattered Psyche (175 BP) vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Weezing: 322-380 (96.4 - 113.7%) -- 81.3% chance to OHKO
4 SpA Electivire Shattered Psyche (175 BP) vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Weezing: 322-380 (96.4 - 113.7%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock

Weezing @ Psychium Z
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 156 HP / 252 SpA / 100 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Taunt
- Sludge Bomb
- Toxic Spikes
- Psybeam

To lure a Weezing, use a Weezing. Simple.

252+ SpA Weezing Psychic (Base 120 Power to represent Z-Psybeam) vs. 248 HP / 0 SpD Weezing: 288-340 (86.4 - 102.1%) -- 93.8% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock

Togetic @ Eviolite
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 248 HP / 8 SpA / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Defog
- Heal Bell / Dazzling Gleam
- Psychic
- Roost

Togetic usually cannot touch Weezing, allowing it to come in for free and force it out with Sludge Bomb, get off a Will-O-Wisp, or set up Toxic Spikes since it can easily Taunt Togetic. However, with Psychic, Togetic can pretty comfortably 2HKO Weezing on the switch after Rocks and therefore work as an effective lure. The cool thing about Serene Grace is that it can increase the chance to get the Special Defense drop, which would help Togetic even more.

8 SpA Togetic Psychic vs. 248 HP / 4 SpD Weezing: 146-172 (43.8 - 51.6%) -- 66.4% chance to 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Black Sludge recovery
0 SpA Weezing Sludge Bomb vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Eviolite Togetic: 80-96 (25.4 - 30.5%) -- guaranteed 4HKO

B-B-BACK AGAIN! WITH A VENGENCE!

Anyway, Taskr won the week with 5 votes for his Dream Eater Shiinotic.
Also, Twix didn't win with Psychic Togetic at 3 votes, meaning Yogi hasn't given up on us yet which is nice.

Week 4

Skuntank @ Black Sludge
Ability: Aftermath
EVs: 252 Atk / 108 SpD / 148 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Crunch/Poison Jab
- Sucker Punch
- Pursuit
- Defog

We had Weezing last week, so naturally I figured Skuntank would be perfect to have next. Skuntank has proven to be one of the tiers most splashable mons, with more and more sets emerging as the tier has progressed. I'm featuring the physical defog set since it's the most proven set, checking high priority threats such as Lilligant, Jynx and Mesprit whilst still being a reliable defogger.
Happy Luring!

Dugtrio-Alola @ Life Orb
Ability: Tangling Hair
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Iron Head
- Stone Edge
- Thrash

Now Obviously you need a ground type to handle Skuntank. But what better Ground-type to use then Alolan Dugtrio. Because not only that it can do some damage but it has immunity poison which makes poison jab useless for Skuntank. Now Alolan-Dugtrio is a Physical Attacker so I gave him 4 Physical attacking moves Apart from any dark type attacks that Alolan Dugtrio can learn.

Calcs:
252 Atk Life Orb Dugtrio-Alola Thrash vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Skuntank: 196-231 (56.4 - 66.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Black Sludge recovery
252 Atk Life Orb Dugtrio-Alola Stone Edge vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Skuntank: 162-192 (46.6 - 55.3%) -- 17.6% chance to 2HKO after Black Sludge recovery
252 Atk Life Orb Dugtrio-Alola Iron Head vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Skuntank: 196-231 (56.4 - 66.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Black Sludge recovery
252 Atk Life Orb Dugtrio-Alola Earthquake vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Skuntank: 486-577 (140 - 166.2%) -- guaranteed OHKO

This set is not a lure whatsoever, I recommend you check the first post in the thread for a brief description of what a lure is and what should be submitted

Also why tf is the point to lure CB skunk and not, like, defogger? That doesn't rly make any sense, CB isn't the set that you actually want to lure. Dibs The Dreamer

Updated the initial post to feature physical defog instead of choice band.
Most sets are pretty standard at this point because of how centralising Skuntank is, so +10 points for creativity this round.

SD Z-Dig Shiftry. Bop.

Shiftry @ Groundium Z
Ability: Chlorophyll
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Leaf Blade
- Sucker Punch
- Dig
- Swords Dance

It was in a heated battle that a Shiftry entered the field...

"What could this puny little Shiftry do to me?", thought Skuntank, expecting an easy switch in. "Heck, I resist both its STABs!"
It was then that Shiftry began to dance with its leaf-sword-thingys.
"Trying to boost that Attack, are you?", yelled Skuntank, "But there's still nothing you can do to me!"
"Yo Skuntank!" yelled Shiftry, "Check out this:"
+2 252+ Atk Shiftry Tectonic Rage (160 BP) vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Skuntank: 884-1040 (254.7 - 299.7%) -- guaranteed OHKO.
"Oh fu-" Skuntank wasn't able to finish that sentence. But as its HP went down, Skuntank was able to get out some final words. "What was even the point of that SD, you still KO without the boosts:"
252+ Atk Shiftry Tectonic Rage (160 BP) vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Skuntank: 442-522 (127.3 - 150.4%) -- guaranteed OHKO
"Cuz," replied Shiftry, as it put on its sunglasses, "Style points. B)"

The End..?

Cradily @ Leftovers
Ability: Storm Drain
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Recover
- Rock Slide
- Earthquake

Skuntank usually comes in and defogs away rocks while Cradily can't do much back. EQ Cradily resolves this by 2HKOing Skuntank after rocks.

4 Atk Cradily Earthquake vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Skuntank: 168-198 (48.4 - 57%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Black Sludge recovery

Qwilfish @ Waterium Z
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Aqua Tail
- Spikes
- Toxic Spikes
- Explosion

Yeah so this is a Qwilfish set that I've loved using the past month solely for the purpose of luring in Skuntank. Essentially, Skuntank usually has a free switch into Qwilfish in order to either Defog its hazards away or Taunt the common bulky set. Skuntank also loves slurping up the Toxic Spikes since it is a grounded Poison-type. However, with a Waterium Z, Qwilfish has the ability to OHKO Skuntank (50/50 chance from full) or easily KO after minimal chip damage (8.4% chip to be exact) and then proceed to Spike up for the rest of the game.

252 Atk Qwilfish Hydro Vortex (175 BP) vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Skuntank: 318-375 (91.6 - 108%) -- 50% chance to OHKO

Gourgeist @ Ghostium Z
Ability: Frisk
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Seed Bomb
- Trick-or-Treat
- Phantom Force
- Shadow Sneak

Here is a special Lure just for Halloween! Z-Trick-or-Treat gives Gourgeist a boost to all of its Stats and gives Skuntank the Ghost typing. This allows Gourgeist to knock out Skuntank with a combination for Phantom Force + Shadow Sneak.

  • 252+ Atk Skuntank Crunch vs. +1 0 HP / 0 Def Gourgeist: 132-156 (48.7 - 57.5%) -- 90.6% chance to 2HKO
  • +1 252+ Atk Gourgeist Phantom Force vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Skuntank: 262-309 (75.5 - 89%) -- 12.5% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock
  • +1 252+ Atk Gourgeist Shadow Sneak vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Skuntank: 117-138 (33.7 - 39.7%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Black Sludge damage
