[OVERVIEW]

Alolan Persian has quite a few niches that allow it to warrant use on a team. First off, it has access to the coveted Parting Shot, which provides momentum, lowers the foe's attacking stats, and, if used with Darkinium Z, can heal an incoming teammate to full HP and get rid of any status they may have. Another niche is access to the ability Fur Coat, doubling Alolan Persian's Defense and making it a decent check to physical attackers. This, in combination with a Dark typing, allows Alolan Persian to pivot into the likes of Skuntank, Alolan Raticate, and Absol. Alolan Persian's Speed makes it faster than important threats like Alolan Raichu and Archeops. It also has a vast array of support moves to help many different team archetypes, including Knock Off. Despite these qualities, Alolan Persian can find itself hard to stand out, as it doesn't have a large movepool for attacking, so offensive sets are generally outclassed by Nasty Plot Liepard. It struggles to damage foes that don't take much from Foul Play, and it also doesn't appreciate the Fighting-types in PU like Hitmonchan and Gurdurr. That being said, Z-Parting Shot is usually worthwhile enough to consider using Alolan Persian.

move 4: Toxic

ability: Fur Coat
nature: Jolly
evs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

Parting Shot allows Alolan Persian to be an effective pivot, lowering the stats of the opposing Pokemon, and can be used with Darkinium Z to bring a teammate back to full HP. Taunt is used to stop setup sweepers like Swords Dance Zangoose and Calm Mind Mesprit, bulky Pokemon trying to recover like Gastrodon and Palossand, and entry hazard setters like Golurk and Archeops. Foul Play is used to damage physical attackers and is useful because it doesn't rely on Alolan Persian's far-below-average Attack stat. Toxic can further help wear down walls like Gastrodon, Lanturn, and Regirock.

Set Details
========

252 Speed EVs and a Jolly nature maximize Alolan Persian's Speed, while the rest of the EVs are dumped into HP to make it as good of a pivot as possible. Fur Coat is Alolan Persian's most useful ability, doubling its Defense and letting it switch into Pokemon like Archeops, Absol, and Golurk. Darkinium Z can be used with Parting Shot to bring in a teammate to full HP or Foul Play to pick off something weakened with Black Hole Eclipse. A Jolly nature is used so the power of your Z-Move isn't weakened if you are in a position to use it. Leftovers can be used to provide passive recovery and make Alolan Persian harder to wear down, though Z-Parting Shot is Alolan Persian's main niche, so Leftovers should only be used if you already have another Z-Move user.

Usage Tips
========

Alolan Persian is best used as a pivot to take a physical hit from Pokemon like Regirock, Golurk, and even Archeops to a degree and switch out with Parting Shot. Alolan Persian can make an excellent lead with its fast Taunt, stopping opposing leads from getting up entry hazards, and Parting Shot allows it to scout for the opponent's initial switch-in and gain momentum. Toxic should be used as a way of wearing down Pokemon that can switch into Alolan Persian and don't take much damage from Foul Play like Palossand and Gastrodon. If running Darkinium Z, it is helpful to save your Z-Parting Shot until a later part of the game so a worn down teammate can benefit from the full heal. Foul Play can be turned into Black Hole Eclipse in a pinch if Alolan Persian needs to hit a special attacker that wouldn't take much from Foul Play. Knock Off can also be used on Alolan Persian's switch-ins to help wear down checks and even prevent some from recovering with Leftovers.

Team Options
========

Alolan Persian typically finds its home on more offensive teams as a way of gaining momentum and providing a setup opportunity for a teammate, though it can also be used on bulkier teams as a decent check to physical attackers. Setup sweepers like Nasty Plot Jynx, Lilligant, and Absol greatly appreciate Alolan Persian's access to Parting Shot, as it gives them a way of coming in on a weakened attack and being able to set up. Strong breakers like Drampa and Magmortar value Z-Parting Shot to have a second chance at breaking through a team. In particular, Archeops really appreciates being able to come back in at full HP so it remains out of Defeatist. Psychic-types like Mesprit and Musharna can check Fighting-types for Alolan Persian while benefiting from Alolan Persian's ability to check Dark- and Ghost-types. Mesprit is particularly notable as a partner because it can help Alolan Persian by forming a momentum core with Parting Shot and U-turn and set up Stealth Rock to get more damage on foes when forcing switches. Alolan Persian also likes a Fairy-type check like Alolan Dugtrio or Skuntank to help with Clefairy and Granbull. Users of Spikes and other entry hazards like Ferroseed and Qwilfish can partner with Alolan Persian to help rack up damage on foes from the switches that Parting Shot usually forces.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Knock Off is an option to cripple some Pokemon that rely on their items like Clefairy but has far less consistent damage output against physical attackers. Fake Out can be run over Toxic on a team that already has Toxic Spikes support to help rack up damage while the foe is unable to attack. A Nasty Plot set can be used with Alolan Persian's good Speed and decent coverage with Dark Pulse, Hidden Power Ground, and Thunderbolt to help deal with Pokemon such as Skuntank and Archeops and can also run Darkinium Z for a one-time nuke. Hypnosis can be run to leave a foe unable to attack, though its low accuracy can leave Alolan Persian vulnerable. Alolan Persian can function as a weather setter with Sunny Day or Rain Dance and then pivot out with Parting Shot, though Liepard generally performs this better with its access to Prankster.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Fighting-types**: Primeape in particular is a problem for Alolan Persian, as the common Choice Scarf set outspeeds Alolan Persian and does a huge chunk of damage with Close Combat. Parting Shot also boosts Primeape's Attack by three stages if used against it and makes it harder for the incoming Pokemon to handle it. Hitmonchan and Gurdurr can both pick off the offensive set with Mach Punch if Alolan Persian takes too much damage, and Foul Play doesn't do enough damage to threaten them.

**Fairy-types**: Clefairy is a hard counter to any Alolan Persian set, as it doesn't have a good way of damaging it. Togetic and Granbull can also do fairly well versus Alolan Persian but don't like taking too much damage from Toxic.

**Special Attackers**: Special attackers like Magmortar and Drampa can break through Alolan Persian quite easily while not taking much damage from Foul Play and can force it to pivot out, though Toxic and Parting Shot can be annoying to them.

[OVERVIEW]

  • High Speed allows it to outspeed base 110s like Raichu-A, Archeops, Duggy-A. (don't like just jumping into stats here, do a little sentence on it overall first)
  • Mono Dark typing grants resistance to dark and ghost types, and immunity to psychic. (Dark- and Ghost-types, capitalise the actual types)
  • Access to the coveted Parting Shot makes Persian a good pivot. (why?) (also please call it Alolan Persian from here on out)
  • Fur Coat allows it to take physical hits fairly well. (neutral and resisted hits)
  • A weakness to fighting in a tier with so many fighting types can be detrimental. (sounds dodgy, reword this)
  • Faces competition from other Dark types like Skuntank, Liepard, and Sableye for their utility. (not really, skunk is a defogger, pard isn't able to offer the utility this does and has zero bulk and sab isn't a pivot) (the only real one that i'd compare it to is liepard ig)
  • And offensive dark types like Absol and Raticate-Alola for their added power. (100% not, totally different)
  • Mention its utility movepool
Overall try to add just a bit more to this, because it's kinda lacking and the last 3 bullets make it seem like it's not worth running

move 2: Parting Shot

Moves

  • Taunt is used to stop set up sweepers, bulky Pokemon trying to recover, and hazard setters. (like?)
  • Parting Shot allows Persian-A to be an effective pivot lowering the stats of the opposing Pokemon and can be used with Darkinium Z to bring a teammate back to full HP. (Alolan Persian)
  • Foul Play is used to damage physical attackers. (useful because it doesn't rely on its own low attack stat)
  • Toxic can further help wear down walls. (okay, and? what walls?)

Set Details
========

  • EVs maximize speed while dumping rest into HP to be as good of a pivot as possible. (nit-pick but evs don't maximize speed. state specifically 252 EVs) (Mention its nature too)
  • Fur Coat is Persian's most useful ability doubling its Defense and letting it switch into things like Archeops, Absol, and Golurk. (Alolan Persian's)
  • Leftovers can be used to provide longevity and help Persian recover from the physical hits it takes. (gives it passive recovery, meaning it's harder to wear down)
  • Darkinium Z can be used with Parting Shot to bring in a teammate at full or (used with foul play) pick off something weakened with Black Hole Eclipse.

Usage Tips
========

  • Persian is best used as a pivot to take a physical hit and switch out with Parting Shot.
  • If running Darkinium Z, it is helpful to save your Z Parting Shot until a later part of the game so that a worn down teammate can benefit from the full restore effect.
  • Persian typically finds its home on more offensive teams as a way of gaining momentum and providing a set up opportunity for a teammate.
This is really, really bare for usage tips. You don't talk about what it can switch into, its other utility moves like taunt or toxic, etc. it's just saying the same stuff as earlier. expand please

Team Options
========

  • Set up sweepers greatly appreciate Persian's access to Parting Shot as it gives them a way of coming in on a weakened attack and being able to set up. Examples include Nasty Plot Jynx, Lilligant, and Absol.
  • Breakers like Drampa and Specs Magmortar also appreciate the Z-Parting Shot to have a second chance at breaking through even more of a team.
  • In particular, Archeops really appreciates being able to come back in at full HP so it remains out of Defeatist.
Same thing here. really barebones. you've basically only mentioned what it does for other teammates and not what they do back. you've also only talked about parting shot here. expand please

[SET]
name: Nasty Plot
move 1: Nasty Plot

move 3: Hidden Power [Ground]
move 4: Dream Eater / Thunderbolt
item: Psychium Z / Life Orb
ability: Fur Coat
nature: Timid
evs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

  • Nasty Plot is used to boost Persian's Special Attack, allowing it to do significantly more damage to things like AV Hitmonchan and Skuntank.
  • Dark Pulse is Persian's strongest STAB and also offers a 30% chance to flinch, which comes in handy with it's high speed.
  • Hidden Power Ground is almost exclusively for Skuntank, but it also hits the rarer Steel types in Aggron and Probopass.
  • Dream Eater can be used with Psychium Z to always OHKO Gurdurr and Assault Vest Hitmonchan after a Nasty Plot boost.
  • Thunderbolt can be used as an alternative to hit opposing Dark types not named Skuntank harder than HP Ground.

Set Details
========

  • The given EVs maximize Persian's Speed and Special Attack, allowing it to effectively sweep late game when faster threats are taken out and bulky Pokemon are worn down.
  • Psychium Z turns Dream Eater into a 180 base power Psychic move that helps Persian deal with Fighting types.
  • Life Orb can be used if running Thunderbolt to increase damage output of all moves.

Usage Tips
========

  • Nasty Plot Persian should be used as a late game sweeper for more offensively based teams.
  • Persian's niche over other Nasty Plot users is its speed, which is able to beat opposing Alolan Raichu and Jynx.
  • It should be wary of using its Z move so that it doesn't get wasted on a dark type that switches in.

Team Options
========

  • Slow U-turn/Volt Switch users like Defensive Mesprit and Lanturn can bring in Persian safely and allow it to set up if it forces a switch.
  • A check to Fighting types helps keep pressure off of Persian. Mesprit, Granbull, and Musharna all help remedy this.
  • Hazards are important to help any set up sweeper as the passive damage can gain extra OHKOs. In Persian's case, it helps to OHKO Gurdurr and Life Orb Hitmonchan with a neutral Shattered Psyche.
  • Mesprit is a phenomenal partner for its ability to check Fighting types, set up Stealth Rocks, and provide U-turn and Healing Wish support.
  • Powerful Steel types like Aggron and Dugtrio-Alola help with Persian's issues dealing with Fairy types.
We're removing this because the QC team doesn't think it warrants a full set at the moment

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

  • The pivot set can run Fake Out as a way of getting chip damage and scouting, though its utility is generally lower than the other moves. (how does it scout?) (stacks up toxic damage)
  • A Choice item set with Switcheroo is worth a mention, though this is generally better performed by Liepard. (what moves would it have)
  • NP set
  • Hypnosis
  • Rain / Sun set, mainly outclassed by liepard tho
  • Rest talk
PLEASE SUGGEST STUFF FOR HERE I CAN'T FIND ANY RELEVANT MOVES

Checks and Counters
===================

**Fighting types**: Primeape in particular is a problem for Persian as the common Choice Scarf set outspeeds Persian and does a huge chunk with Close Combat to either set. Hitmonchan and Gurdurr can both pick off the offensive set with Mach Punch if Perisna takes too much damage. (primeape also gets a defiant boost if it tries to pivot out on it)

**Fairy types**: Clefairy is a hard counter to any Alolan Persian set as even boosted attacks from the offensive set don't do too much and it doesn't take damage from the pivot set's Toxic. Togetic also can do fairly well versus Persian but doesn't like taking boosted Thunderbolts. (remove last bit as its in OO now, or at least remove tbolt reference)

**Special Attackers**: Special Attackers break it quite easily and it's forced to pivot out
Really hesitant to approve this, it's lacking a lot of detail that I hope to see included for QC 2. 1/3 approved, just.

[OVERVIEW]

Alolan Persian stands as a new addition to competitive Pokemon from Generation 7, and was given quite a few niches that allow it to warrant use on a team. First off, and possibly one of the two biggest niches Alolan Persian has, is its access to the coveted Parting Shot. While providing momentum and lowering the opponent's attacking stats, if used with Darkinium Z it can heal an incoming teammate to full HP and get rid of any status they may have. The second niche is access to the ability Fur Coat, doubling Alolan Persian's defense and making it a decent check to physical attackers. This, in combination with Dark typing, allows Alolan Persian to pivot into the likes of Skuntank, Alolan Raticate, and Absol. Alolan Persian also maintains the Speed of its Kantonian counterpart, making it faster than Pokemon like Alolan Raichu, Archeops, and Alolan Dugtrio. It also has a vast array of support moves to help many different team archetypes. Despite these qualities, Alolan Persian can find itself hard to stand out as it doesn't have a large movepool for attacking so offensive sets are generally outclassed by Nasty Plot Liepard, and sets like weather support are also outclassed by support Liepard for its access to Prankster no need to focus so much on being outclassed by Liepard, it's really not that relevant to the analysis. However do mention that it struggles to damage pokemon who don't take much from Foul Play. It also doesn't appreciate the Fighting types that have fallen to PU in this generation. That being said, Z-Parting Shot is usually worthwhile enough to consider using Alolan Persian.

Overview is good overall. There are some issues with phrasing/sentence structure but GP team will take care of that

Fur Coat is Alolan Persian's most useful ability, doubling its Defense and letting it switch into things like Archeops, Absol, and Golurk. Darkinium Z can be used with Parting Shot to bring in a teammate at full or used with Foul Play to pick off something weakened with Black Hole Eclipse. Leftovers can be used to provide passive recovery and make Alolan Persian harder to wear down though Z-Parting Shot is Alolan Persian's main niche so Leftovers should only be used if you already have another Z move user. mention why Jolly is used over Timid (for Black Hole Eclipse in the rare case you use it)

Usage Tips
========

Alolan Persian is best used as a pivot to take a physical hit from Pokemon like Regirock, Golurk, and even Archeops to a degree and switch out with Parting Shot. Alolan Persian can make an excellent lead with its fast Taunt stopping opposing leads from getting up hazards and Parting Shot allowing to scout for the opponent's initial switch in and gain momentum. If running Darkinium Z, it is helpful to save your Z Parting Shot until a later part of the game so that a worn down teammate can benefit from the full restore effect. Foul Play can be turned into Black Hole Eclipse in a pinch if Alolan Persian needs to hit a special attacker that wouldn't take much from Foul Play. mention using Toxic to wear down switch-ins who won't take much from Foul Play

Team Options
========

Set up sweepers greatly appreciate Alolan Persian's access to Parting Shot as it gives them a way of coming in on a weakened attack and being able to set up. Examples include Nasty Plot Jynx, Lilligant, and Absol. Strong breakers like Drampa and Magmortar also appreciate the Z-Parting Shot to have a second chance at breaking through even more of a team. In particular, Archeops really appreciates being able to come back in at full HP so it remains out of Defeatist. Psychic types like Mesprit and Musharna can check Fighting types for Alolan Persian while benefiting from Alolan Persian's ability to check Dark and Ghost types. Mesprit is particularly notable as a partner because it can help Alolan Persian by forming a momentum core with Parting Shot and U-turn and set up Stealth Rock to get more damage when forcing switches. Alolan Persian also likes a Fairy type check like Alolan Dugtrio or Skuntank to help with Clefairy and Granbull. Alolan Persian typically finds its home on more offensive teams as a way of gaining momentum and providing a set up opportunity for a teammate though it can also be used on bulkier teams as a decent check to physical attackers. Spikes and other hazard users like Ferroseed and Qwilfish can partner with Alolan Persian to help rack up damage with the switches that Parting Shot usually forces. good

Other Options
=============

Fake Out can be run over Toxic on a team that already has Toxic Spikes support to help rack up damage while the opponent is unable to attack. A Nasty Plot set can be used with Alolan Persian's good speed and decent coverage with Dark Pulse, Hidden Power Ground, and Thunderbolt to help deal with things such as Skuntank and Archeops and can also run Darkinium Z as a one time nuke. A set with Hypnosis can be run to leave an opponent unable to attack though its low accuracy can leave Alolan Persian vulnerable. Alolan Persian can function as a weather setter with Sunny Day or Rain Dance and then pivot out with Parting Shot though Liepard generally performs this better with its access to Prankster.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Fighting types**: Primeape in particular is a problem for Alolan Persian as the common Choice Scarf set outspeeds Alolan Persian and does a huge chunk with Close Combat. Parting Shot also boosts Primeape's Attack by 3 stages if used against it and makes it harder for the incoming Pokemon to handle it. Hitmonchan and Gurdurr can both pick off the offensive set with Mach Punch if Alolan Persian takes too much damage and Foul Play doesn't so enough damage to threaten them.

**Fairy types**: Clefairy is a hard counter to any Alolan Persian set as even boosted attacks from the offensive set there's no need to mention the offensive set here as this is only OO don't do too much and it doesn't take damage from the pivot set's Toxic. Togetic and Granbull can also do fairly well versus Alolan Persian but don't like taking too much damage from Toxic.

**Special Attackers**: Special attackers like Magmortar and Drampa can break through Alolan Persian quite easily and force it to pivot out. while not taking much from Foul Play, also mention how Parting Shot and Toxic can annoy them

Implemented changes but before I ask for GP I wondered what to do about Knock Off. I put it in OO but I know some people have been saying to slash it with Foul Play. Looking for qc team recommendations

Hey! Don't slash it with anything, instead mention it last in Moves. I'd also like you to mention it in the Overview and Usage Tips sections too.

Thanks!

Wouldn't Timid be preferable with 0 atk since Foul Play doesn't require atk investment and it further lowers opposing Foul Play damage, unless you run other physical moves like Fake Out or something?

Z foul play can be used as a decently powerful attack, and an opposing foul play is essentially 4x resisted thus the damage difference is so insignificant that it doesn't really matter.

Yeah as Rwby said, the whole idea is that even though the main niche is Z-Parting Shot, you can still use Black Hole Eclipse if needed to pick off/damage something that Foul Play wouldn't kill or do much too, namely special attackers.

[OVERVIEW]

Alolan Persian stands as a new addition to competitive Pokemon from Generation 7,(RC) and was givenhas quite a few niches that allow it to warrant use on a team. (generational shifts are banned) First off, and possibly one of the two biggest niches Alolan Persian has,(RC) is its it has (if these niches are being mentioned as positives in the overview than obviously they are important, or the "biggest" ones. It doesn't need to be restated) access to the coveted Parting Shot,(AC) which provides.(period) While providing momentum,(AC) and lowering lowers the opponent's foe's attacking stats, and,(AC) if used with Darkinium Z,(AC) it (the tense in this sentence was off, specifically the "while") can heal an incoming teammate to full HP and get rid of any status they may have. The second Another niche is access to the ability Fur Coat, doubling Alolan Persian's Defense and making it a decent check to physical attackers. This, in combination with a Dark typing, allows Alolan Persian to pivot into the likes of Skuntank, Alolan Raticate, and Absol. Alolan Persian's also maintains the Speed of its Kantonian counterpart,(RC) making (it's its own Pokemon) makes it faster than Pokemon like Alolan Raichu, Archeops, and Alolan Dugtrio. It also has a vast array of support moves to help many different team archetype,(AC) including the new addition of Knock Off. Despite these qualities, Alolan Persian can find itself hard to stand out,(AC) as it doesn't have a large movepool for attacking,(AC) so offensive sets are generally outclassed by Nasty Plot Liepard. It struggles to damage opponents that don't take much from Foul Play, and it also doesn't appreciate the Fighting-(AH)types that have fallen to in PU in this generation (name a couple here). That being said, Z-Parting Shot is usually worthwhile enough to consider using Alolan Persian.

Parting Shot allows Alolan Persian to be an effective pivot,(AC) lowering the stats of the opposing Pokemon,(AC) and can be used with Darkinium Z to bring a teammate back to full HP. Taunt is used to stop set up setup sweepers like Swords Dance Zangoose and Calm Mind Mesprit, bulky Pokemon trying to recover like Gastrodon and Palossand, and entry hazard setters like Golurk and Archeops. Foul Play is used to damage physical attackers and is useful because it doesn't rely on Alolan Persian's far-(AH)below-(AH)average Attack stat. Toxic can further help wear down walls like Gastrodon, Lanturn, and Regirock. Knock Off is an optionto option to cripple some Pokemon that rely on their items like Clefairy but has less consistent damage output against physical attackers.
