| Approved by Aragorn the King | Banner by Cretacerus | Taken over from DarkNostalgia | Co-hosted by Hector Hard Mode | Format stolen from Victim of the Week |

All Pokemon are unable to function completely independently. This is where teammates come in. Teammates assist one another in achieving goals that a Pokemon may have in mind. Whether that be sweeping, or walling, there are effective teammates for every Pokemon.
This project aims to find the best partners for a variety of Pokemon. These may range from metagame defining Pokemon to more underrated threats.

Procedure
Every week, a Pokemon will be nominated for discussion. The goal being to find the best, and most effective partners for the nominated Pokemon. During that week everyone will have the chance to submit one Pokemon that they feel supports the nominated Pokemon best. At the end of that week the three best partners will be decided by myself, and added to the archive. Users that consistently provide archive-worthy nominations will be placed in the Hall of Fame.

Rules
1. Stick to Pokemon on the OU Viability Rankings. Pokemon such as Aurorus or Ninjask which are not ranked should not be nominated.
2. Reservations are welcome. In your reservation post you must state when you will be able to complete your post. This time frame must be no longer than 12 hours. After 12 hours have passed, other users may nominate the Pokemon you had reserved and may complete it themselves.
3. Don't theorymon. Post Pokemon that you have had experience with.
4. Explain how and why the Pokemon you have nominated works well. For example, do the two Pokemon have offensive synergy, in terms of being able to wear down similar checks and counters, or defensive synergy, in terms of being able to wall a portion of the metagame due to typing, or role fulfilment.
5. Be considerate of others when posting, and only post when necessary ie. try not to post one-liners.
6. Calcs are nice, but not compulsory.

Weavile

Weavile @ Life Orb
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Ice Shard
- Knock Off
- Icicle Crash
- Pursuit / Low Kick / Swords Dance

Weavile works as a great partner for Mega Manectric, as it's able to get rid of most of its checks (Hippowdon, Lando-T, Garchomp, Raikou, Latios, Latias, and Mega Alt before it sets up). On the other hand, Mega Manectric defeats the mons that check Weavile (Azumarill, Keldeo, Klefki). Together they form a nice fast offensive core that can break through a lot of teams.

Tyranitar @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Stone Edge
- Pursuit
- Superpower
- Ice Punch

Scarf TTar is a fantastic partner for Manectric. It is able to effectively Pursuit Lati@s, who commonly attempt to check Manectric. Ice Punch is a niche option that allows TTar to finish some of the bulky Grounds that attempt to check Manectric, such as Lando-T and Garchomp. Tyranitar also has the bulk to take Bisharp's +1 Sucker Punch, so it can revenge if Sharp happens to get Intimidated by Manectric. Scarf TTar is a great partner for Manectric that can easily take advantage of the momentum Mane creates.

Reserve Scizor.

Scizor @ Choice Band
Ability: Technician
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Bullet Punch
- U-turn
- Superpower
- Pursuit

Mega Manectric is prone to being walled by most special walls, most notably the likes of Chansey and Tyranitar while also being set-up fodder for Magic Guard Clefable. Banded Scizor can eliminate Chansey and Tyranitar easily with Superpower while Clefable is dispatched by a Bullet Punch. In return, Mega Manectric can eliminate Skarmory and bulky Water types.

Serperior @ Life Orb
Ability: Contrary
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Leaf Storm
- Dragon Pulse
- Hidden Power Fire
- Giga Drain/Glare/Taunt

Megamane is beaten by fat ground and Dragon types like Hippo, Quagsire, Gastrodon, and Lati@s (serp has to be at +2 to ohko), so serp makes a great partner to mmane, beating all of these threats and using them as setup fodder. Taunt disables bulky grounds and stops them from healing themselves or using status, while glare cripples everything except electric types, and Giga Drain lets Serperior recover HP sustained from LO recoil vs these mons. However, both of these mons share a check/counter in Mega Venu, so a strong offensive psychic or flying type is appreciated as a teammate to these two.

Stealing QD Volcarona from the banner :-)

Volcarona @ Life Orb
Ability: Flame Body
EVs: 72 HP / 252 SpA / 184 Spe
Timid Nature
- Quiver Dance
- Fire Blast
- Bug Buzz
- Hidden Power Ground / Hidden Power Ice

Volcarona and Mega Manectric forms a nice Offensive core because Mega Manectric can easily defeat Talonflame, Mega Charizard-Y and Tornadus-T which the former hates. Mega Manectric also threatens a lot of Water-types with its STAB moves, which is beneficial to Volcarona. In return, Volcarona can defeat Lati@s, Mega Sableye, Clefable, Mega Venusaur and Raikou, all of whom Mega Manectric struggles against. Finally, Volcarona can lure Pokemon which threatens the core and KO them with the appropriate Hidden Power. In this case, HP Ground OHKOes Mega Charizard-X and Heatran at +1 while HP Ice OHKOes Garchomp and Landorus-T.

+1 252 SpA Life Orb Volcarona Hidden Power Ground vs. 248 HP / 192+ SpD Heatran: 380-452 (98.7 - 117.4%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock
+1 252 SpA Life Orb Volcarona Hidden Power Ground vs. 72 HP / 0 SpD Mega Charizard X: 302-356 (95.8 - 113%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock
+1 252 SpA Life Orb Volcarona Bug Buzz vs. 72 HP / 0 SpD Latias: 471-556 (147.6 - 174.2%) -- guaranteed OHKO
+1 252 SpA Life Orb Volcarona Bug Buzz vs. 248 HP / 8 SpD Tyranitar in Sand: 393-463 (97.5 - 114.8%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock
+1 252 SpA Life Orb Volcarona Fire Blast vs. 252 HP / 84+ SpD Clefable: 328-386 (83.2 - 97.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
+1 252 SpA Life Orb Volcarona Fire Blast vs. 232 HP / 4 SpD Thick Fat Mega Venusaur: 307-367 (85.5 - 102.2%) -- 87.5% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock
+1 252 SpA Life Orb Volcarona Fire Blast vs. 252 HP / 144+ SpD Mega Sableye: 255-302 (83.8 - 99.3%) -- 75% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock

EDIT: Can we have links to the Pokemon of the previous weeks / theead?

Clefable @ Leftovers
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 HP / 172 Def / 84 SpD
Calm Nature
- Moonblast
- Softboiled
- Calm Mind

Clefable deals with most of the Pokemon which can handle Manectric, namely Dragons like Latias and Kyurem-B, bulky Grounds like Hippowdon and Gastrodon, also deals with Raikou decently, can somwhat deal with other fast megas like Alakazam and Lopunny and Scarfers like Landorus-T and Garchomp. Thanks to Thunder Wave, it can cripple Pokemon like XZard, Heatran and Venusaur which Manectric has trouble with. In return, Manectric checks threats to Clefable such as Talonflame as well as certain Steel-types like Scizor, Metagross, Skarmory, Jirachi and and Magnezone.

Manectric is probably one of the biggest threat for offensive team, it is fast, it is versatile, and some defensive pivot are easily removable to give him a better chance. Problem is, Manectric is sometimes a dead weight against defensive team, for example, Hippowdon completely walls it. So why not pairing Manectric with the devil?

@ Leftovers
Ability: Hydration
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Tail Glow
- Scald
- Psychic
- Energy Ball

Manaphy is, as you may already know, one of the biggest threat for Balanced team. It is really versatile and hits super hard at +3.

The moveset is pretty free, I've choosed Psychic and Energy Ball because Psychic remove Venusaur and Amoonguss, 2 big stop to Manectric. Energy all tke care of Quagsire, it is more because my team wants it, so maybe other option would be better for the team you would build.

Ice Beam would help Vs. Lati@s switching in, as they are also checks to Manectric, HP Fire would allow Manectric not to use his fire move (annoying to get -2 SpAtk under specific circumstance).

Not to forget the CM Rest Manaphy is also a good partner as it would help against stall, which have multiple option to stop Manectric : Chansey, Quagsire (unless HP Grass), Cresselia, Amoonguss,...

Crawdaunt (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Adaptability
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Crabhammer
- Aqua Jet
- Knock Off
- Swords Dance

In my opinion Crawdaunt works really well with Manectric as it can get rid of bulky ground that blocks volt switch like Hippowdon and can smack special sponges like Chansey, SpDef Heatran and Clefable ( Two medium rolls of Volt Switch and Crabhammer kill the Cmind set and the Unaware set after rocks damage). On the other side MManectric provides free entry thanks to volt switch support and can beat common Crawdaunt switchins such as Azumarill, Keldeo and Chesnaught also checking electric type like Magnezone and Thundurus.

what do you mean? (Tornadus-T) @ Life Orb
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 76 Atk / 180 SpA / 252 Spe
Hasty Nature
- Hurricane
- Knock Off
- Superpower
- U-turn

Tornadus-T is an amazing partner for Mega Manectric, not only because of their ability to create a potent VoltTurn core, but also because of their overall offensive synergy. Mega Manectric struggles against the likes of Hippowdon, Garchomp, Mega Venusaur, Clefable, Raikou, Latios, Latias, Reuniclus, and Mega Alakazam, which Tornadus-T can threaten quite adequately, or cripple with Knock Off. Mega Manectric then deals with the likes of Weavile, Mega Metagross, Skarmory, and (Mega) Scizor, which all trouble Tornadus-T. A good partner would be Breloom as it beats Rotom-W and appreciates the VoltTurn support provided.

Klefki @ Leftovers
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 248 HP / 252 SpD / 8 Spe
Careful Nature
- Thunder Wave
- Spikes
- Magnet Rise
- Play Rough

Klefki makes an amazing partner for Mega Manectric, this electric dog absolutely love having spikes support cause many of its checks are grounded so the extra hazard damage along with the constant chip damage from volt switch pressure manectric checks like hippowdon, garchomp, raikou, heatran among others really well to be point they arent such safe checks/counters anymore and improving its matchup against defensive teams a lot.
Magnet rise to use ground types as spikes bait pressuring them to switch out and klefki having the ability to beat lati@s by itself, another mega manectric check, is sincerely amazing for a spikes setter freeing the need for pursuit support. The paralysis support for broken mons like zard-X, mega altaria and stuff is an extra. Manectric + spikes is pretty scary all in all.

Firstly, thank you everyone for your nominations! It's so cool to see so many people immediately hopping on board, and I really appreciate everyone doing so. :]

Ok, so I think I'm going to change this up from being a weekly thing, because usually all the nominations are done in the first ~3 days, and then the thread just stays dead until winners are nominated. The first idea that came to mind was maybe to make it a 4-5 day cycle? That still gives people plenty of time to get nominations in, and I feel like it just means the thread wont be dead for as long.

Anyway.. I'm going to try that out for this week. If you have any comments on this, feel free to let me know. If no one objects, then I'll probably make this a permanent change.

Anyway, onto the winning partners!

The Winners:

Random Passerby's Volcarona.

Ability: Unaware
EVs: 248 HP / 164 Def / 96 SpD
Calm Nature
- Moonblast

- Heal Bell

Unaware Clefable is a really great teammate for Slowbro. It checks most of the pokemon that beat slowbro 1vs1 or that can boost on it such as Serperior, Raikou, Manectric, Thundurus and Manaphy. Mega Slowbro instead helps clefable against annoying steel types beating Metagross, Excadrill and Bisharp lacking of swords dance and in general strong physical attacker like Azumarill or Diggersby that can 2hko clefable. Heal Bell support is really appreciated by slowbro which doesnt like being statused due to the lack of leftovers.

Gliscor @ Toxic Orb
Ability: Poison Heal
EVs: 244 HP / 8 Def / 200 SpD / 56 Spe
Careful Nature
- Knock Off
- Taunt
- Roost
- Toxic / Earthquake

Gliscor makes for a pretty good partner to CM Slack Off Slowbro, since not only does Slowbro resist all of Gliscor's weknesses, therefore handling most of Gliscor's checks quite well, Gliscor deals with a few troublesome Pokemon for Slowbro such as Gengar and Unaware Clefable It also acts as a ststus absorber, which is helpful given how vulnerable Slowbro is to it if it doesn't run Rest. While it does lose to most Electric-types, ot can at leats prevent Specs Raikou from minlessly spamming Volt Switch, and does live an HP Ice from Manectric from full HP. Generally speaking, CM MBro is a threat to Offense, while Gliscor deals with Stall. Both of these Pokemon can perform decetly against different types of balance.

Amoonguss @ Black Sludge
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 136 Def / 120 SpD
Calm Nature
- Spore
- Giga Drain
- Sludge Bomb / Clear Smog
- Hidden Power Fire

Amoonguss is actually a great Slowbro teammate, thanks to Regenerator, before the mega they are a strong Regenerator core. Thanks to the type they can cover themselves from offensive threats. Amoonguss helps against stuff like Thundurus, Mega Manectric, Azumarill, Serperior, and Bisharp; but it is a good cover against more "defensive 'mons such as Mega Venusaur, Ferrothorn and Rotom-W. Mega Slowbro Helps against stuff like Mega Metagross, Talonflame and Mega Medicham. This is a great Stall core can deal with offense teams.

Reserving Heatran.

Heatran @ Leftovers
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 248 HP / 192 SpD / 68 Spe
Calm Nature
- Lava Plume
- Toxic
- Taunt / Protect / Roar
- Stealth Rock

Specially Defensive Heatran is quite possibly the best partner that Mega Slowbro can ask for. The two have near perfect synergy and the capability to break down nearly every threat that they may come across. Slowbro struggles mightily against powerful Grass and Electric types, such as Mega Venusaur, Mega Manectric, Raikou, and Celebi. Heatran can handle most of these threats with relative ease. In return, Slowbro can handle the powerful Water, Ground, and Fighting types that Heatran has struggles with.

Chesnaught @ Leftovers
Ability: Bulletproof
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Impish Nature
- Spikes
- Leech Seed
- Spiky Shield
- Drain Punch

Defensive Chesnaught makes a good start to a pretty solid defensive core with Mega Slowbro. It's ability to beat dark types like Bisharp and Tyranitar for Slowbro, and the spike support it provides is pretty handy so that Slowbro can put in work with Calm Mind late game. Slowbro can cover special attackers for Chesnaught and more specifically fire and ice type attacks which threaten it out.

De Blob is here.

Chansey @ Eviolite
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Def / 252 SpD
Bold Nature
- Toxic / Thunder Wave
- Soft-Boiled
- Seismic Toss
- Heal Bell

Slowbro's biggest fear is Toxic and Burn, as even with Slack Off the chip damage they provide make Slowbro more vulnerable to being KOd. In comes Chansey, OU blob since BW. With Natural Cure, Chansey can switch in on Toxic from pretty much anything and heal it off when it switches out. Also, because of Slowbro's lower SpD Chansey can switch into Dracos all day and simply Soft Boil them off like they were snacks. Slowbro can then switch into any fighting type moves aimed at Chansey and easily take them and begin to set up or fire off an attack. Heal Bell is also there in case Slowbro unfortunately gets a status condition from something like Toxic Mega Lop (which nobody uses anymore but w/e).

Magnezone @ Choice Scarf/Specs
Ability: Magnet Pull
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Volt Switch
- Hidden Power Fire
- Flash Cannon
- Thunderbolt

Skarmory, Ferrothorn, and Defensive Mega Scizor can all post a problem to Diggersby when it's running swords dance, so mag traps all three of them and makes Diggersby's sweep much easier, especially since it can do a good job removing rock types, another type that resists quick attack.

Azumarill @ Sitrus Berry
Ability: Huge Power
EVs: 92 HP / 252 Atk / 164 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Belly Drum
- Aqua Jet
- Play Rough
- Knock Off

Belly Drum Azumarill pairs wonderfully with Swords Dance Diggersby as they can break past their shared checks and counters together. With a Belly Drum up, Azumarill can break past Mega Slowbro, Mega Venusaur, Tangrowth, Skarmory and other defensive or frail attackers such as Gengar. Meanwhile, Diggersby takes care of some of the threats Azumarill couldn't handle such as Rotom-W, Mega Metagross, Klefki and Mega Scizor.

A Choice Band set can also be used with the SD set (based on the same principles) but I love using Belly Drum Azumarill more.

magnezone is too mainstream

Magneton @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Magnet Pull
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Volt Switch
- Flash Cannon
- Hidden Power [Fire]

Does the exact same stuff that Magnezone does, except its fast enough to outrun the likes of Weavile, Talonflame, and Torn-T, all of which can heavily threaten or revenge kill Diggersby.

Bisharp @ Assault Vest
Ability: Defiant
EVs: 192 / 252 Atk / 96 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Knock Off
- Iron Head
- Sucker Punch
- Pursuit

Bisharp makes for a great partner for Sd diggersby due to the fact hes pretty much hard walled by gengar. AV bisharp Naturally can come in on gengar with ease and trap it with pursuit removing said gengar. Bisharp also can get off some huge damage on some physically defensive psychic types such as cm reun and slowbro. Naturally diggersby can also soften up things such as hippo or lando for bisharp to finish them off. Also dual priority cores are cool.

Gardevoir @ Gardevoirite
Ability: Trace -> Pixilate
EVs: 232 SpA / 252 Spe / 24 Def
Timid Nature
- Hyper Voice
- Psyshock
- Focus Blast / Thunderbolt
- Taunt / Will-O-Wisp

Garde punches holes in stuff like slowbro that can threaten diggersby while it doesn't like fat steels not named skarmory which is where diggersby comes in as it can kill/significantly weaken steels and can run fire punch to get rid of scizor for garde. Garde can also afford tbolt>focus blast to hit spdef skarm harder since diggersby can beat ferrothorn/heatran for it.
