Tyranitar may try to switch in on Latios to Pursuit trap it but with this set it can lure Tyranitar to KO it with Tectonic Rage after it switched in on Draco Meteor. It can also viably lure Heatran and Magearna which would otherwise be able to take advantage of Latios.

252 SpA Latios Draco Meteor vs. 80 HP / 4 SpD Tyranitar in Sand: 142-168 (39.3 - 46.5%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
4 Atk Latios Tectonic Rage (180 BP) vs. 80 HP / 0 Def Tyranitar: 220-260 (60.9 - 72%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Just a tip: use Mewnium Z instead, which is slightly stronger and gets boosted further by it's effect of setting Psychic Terrain up. You could also use Aura Sphere which still KOes T-tar after a NP boost and will not miss.

Blacephalon @ Fightium Z
Ability: Beast Boost
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Flamethrower
- Fire Blast
- Shadow Ball
- Hidden Power Fighting

Tyranitar and the dark type in general is check / counter of Blacephalon. But it can be changed by taking a specific movement + z move to increase damage. Well, here some calculations being Modest.

CB
0+ SpA Blacephalon Hidden Power Fighting vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Tyranitar: 272-320 (79.7 - 93.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Mega Ttar
0+ SpA Blacephalon Hidden Power Fighting vs. 4 HP / 0 SpD Tyranitar-Mega in Sand: 156-188 (45.6 - 54.9%) -- 55.9% chance to 2HKO
Blacephalon cant use HP Fighting due to having 3 fixed perfect IVs, and not only that, Hidden Powers don't work with Z-moves unless you want Breakneck Blitz, and your calcs are missing SpA EVs, as well as Modest Blacephalon being generally bad.

Got this set from a few people on the Pitvipers late SM, fulfills the Defog Role really well while also Sniping Tyranitar and Heatran really well. I thought no Dragon STAB was pretty weird at first but it turned out to be really nice. Haven’t tried it in USUM but it’s probably still fine. Also checks Toxic Spikes Pex really well because you hard wall scald/ tspikes / haze. This showed up a bunch in various tours so surprised it didnt get a shoutout.

Sorry for not updating this.

Waterium Latios by sedertz wins.

This round we’re gonna be luring a set which has picked up hugely since USUM’s release, AV Tapu Bulu!

A lot of teams right now use AV Tapu Bulu as their main Keldeo switch in right now, thanks to Hidden Power Poison Keldeo is capable of 2HKOing AV Tapu Bulu (most of the time) on the switch in, effectively luring and KOing it.

252 SpA Keldeo Hidden Power Poison vs. 248 HP / 56 SpD Assault Vest Tapu Bulu: 172-204 (50.1 - 59.4%) -- 76.6% chance to 2HKO

Greninja-Ash @ Waterium Z / Choice Specs
Ability: Battle Bond
EVs: (36 Atk / 220 SpA / 252 Spe) / (28 Atk / 228 SpA / 252 Spe)
Hasty Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Dark Pulse
- Water Shuriken
- Gunk Shot

I know, I know, You'd rather your Ash-Greninja with Spikes, right? Yeah, same here. But this set excels if your team is weak to Tapu Bulu, maybe you're relying on Ash-Greninja and Choice Specs Tapu Koko as your only breakers, I don't know, but if you need a Tapu Bulu lure here is one, and not only are you luring it, but you're also gaining a free transformation. Okay, let's go a bit more in depth with this lure:
  • Item Choice
    • Waterium Z is the prefered option simply because being Choice Specs locked into Gunk Shot is far from ideal, this set also ensures that you can freely Hydro Pump or Dark Pulse as Tapu Bulu switches in whereas Choice Specs sets have to rely on prediction, and if your opponent has like both Tapu Bulu and Toxapex, well you're kind of screwed.
    • Choice Specs is also an option simply because is has much more utility and power after Tapu Bulu drops, but of course you have to predict the Tapu Bulu and your opponent gains a ton of momentum when you KO something with a Choice Specs Gunk Shot.
  • EV Spread
    • The reccomended EV spread for Waterium Z sets would be using 36 Atk, as it guarantees a KO on Tapu Bulu after Dark Pulse damage.
220 SpA Greninja Dark Pulse vs. 248 HP / 56 SpD Assault Vest Tapu Bulu: 36-42 (10.4 - 12.2%) -- possibly the worst move ever
      36 Atk Greninja Gunk Shot vs. 248 HP / 0 Def Tapu Bulu: 308-364 (89.7 - 106.1%) -- 37.5% chance to OHKO
    • You could also simply run 0 Atk as it guarantees the KO afer Hydro Pump, but keep in mind that the odds of you hitting both are 64%!
252 SpA Greninja Hydro Pump vs. 248 HP / 56 SpD Assault Vest Tapu Bulu: 51-60 (14.8 - 17.4%) -- possible 9HKO after Grassy Terrain recovery
      0 Atk Greninja Gunk Shot vs. 248 HP / 0 Def Tapu Bulu: 292-348 (85.1 - 101.4%) -- 12.5% chance to OHKO
    • For the Choice Specs set 28 Atk is ideal as it guarantees the OHKO after Stealth Rock. But you do need to keep rocks up for obvious reasons so watch out!
28 Atk Greninja Gunk Shot vs. 248 HP / 0 Def Tapu Bulu: 304-360 (88.6 - 104.9%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock
    • An option for the Choice Specs set is running 152 Atk to always OHKO Tapu Bulu, but please promise you won't do that. Leaving yourself with only 104 SpA EVs is a terrible idea!
      152 Atk Greninja Gunk Shot vs. 248 HP / 0 Def Tapu Bulu: 344-408 (100.2 - 118.9%) -- guaranteed OHKO
  • Nature
    • Hasty is prefered here simply to better switch into resisted hits such as Blacephalon's Fire Blast or whatever. Yeah, you really don't want that to happen! It also helps out against Offensive Heatran. There are probably more examples but the point is: Greninja's resistances are mainly from special oriented moves.
      252 SpA Choice Specs Blacephalon Fire Blast vs. 0 HP / 0- SpD Greninja-Ash: 222-261 (77.8 - 91.5%) -- 31.3% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock
      252 SpA Heatran Inferno Overdrive (180 BP) vs. 0 HP / 0- SpD Greninja-Ash: 216-255 (75.7 - 89.4%) -- 18.8% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock
    • Naive can still be run, but it really doesn't accomplish as much as Hasty considering the points made above.
Thanks for reading! Have a nice day, and remember, unless your team is ridiculously weak to Tapu Bulu, use Spikes on the last slot :)

Greninja-Ash @ Waterium Z

Timid Nature

The Ash-Gren set, with just Gunk Shot. Gunk Shot is incredible, as it just checks all Fairies in the game. Here are some calcs :

0- Atk Greninja-Ash Gunk Shot vs. 248 HP / 0 Def Tapu Bulu: 384-452 (111.9 - 131.7%) -- guaranteed OHKO (For the set we're luring right now, even full def Bulu has chances to be OHKOed.

0- Atk Greninja-Ash Gunk Shot vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Clefable: 188-222 (47.7 - 56.3%) -- 29.7% chance to 2HKO after Leftovers recovery (Okay, this calc isn't representative of the thing, but it is here for you to know that even Unaware Clef hates switching on Gunk Shot (and we have HPump for it anyway who hits harder but this calc shows the pressure this can add to even a full def fairy.))

0- Atk Greninja-Ash Gunk Shot vs. 248 HP / 8 Def Tapu Fini: 190-224 (55.3 - 65.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery (Fini is just 2HKOed by a mon it is supposed to check.)(Koko and Lele take same damage of Hpump and GShot)

GL everyone. (EDIT : Fuck just noticed someone took Ash-Gren when I was making the post)

Of you want, you can also take HP Fire with GShot or in GShot, as :

252 SpA Choice Specs Greninja-Ash Hidden Power Fire vs. 248 HP / 56 SpD Assault Vest Tapu Bulu: 146-172 (42.5 - 50.1%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Grassy Terrain recovery (Even with AV, Bulu doesn't like switching into HP Fire.)

252 SpA Choice Specs Greninja-Ash Hidden Power Fire vs. 252 HP / 168 SpD Ferrothorn: 340-400 (96.5 - 113.6%) -- 81.3% chance to OHKO (It lures Ferrothorn too.)
Unless somethings changed, Greninja Ash cannot run Hp Fire as its Ivs are locked

Not that Gunk Shot Ash Greninja doesn't work, but I think Ice Beam would be generally more practical. Even if it's somewhat known, it's still an effective lure, as most AV Bulus are being used as a primary or secondary Greninja check

252 SpA Choice Specs Greninja Ice Beam vs. 248 HP / 56 SpD Assault Vest Tapu Bulu: 164-194 (47.8 - 56.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Grassy Terrain recovery

Ice Beam is a more accurate way to nail Lando-T and Zapdos, while hitting Tangrowth hard and OHKOing Zygarde. The only new target Gunk Shot is really hitting harder than its other options is Tapu Fini, which I think it fails to 2HKO in base form anyway. I'd also rather stray away from Attack investment, personally.

252+ Atk Choice Band Huge Power Diggersby Iron Tail vs. 248 HP / 0 Def Tapu Bulu: 374-442 (109 - 128.8%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Thanks to its ability + cb Diggersby you can finish AV Bulu with increase in HP. It also exceeds Adamant speed so you can eliminate it.

Ability: Sap Sipper
EVs: 228 HP / 252 Def / 28 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Whirlpool
- Perish Song
- Protect
- Rest

Premise is simple enough. You switch Azumarill into something it can naturally threaten out like Non-Bloom Heatran, Ash Greninja, Blacephlon, Keldeo and others. AV Bulu pivots in, catching what is an expected Belly Drum or Water move and "forces" it out because 144 speed on Bulu is enough to outspeed normal BD Azu. This is when you simply click Whirlpool, hope the 85% accuracy does you justice, and then you Perish Song, Protect, and Rest stall it to death. 28 Speed is to outspeed Relaxed Celesteela, which you also trap and faint, while the rest is thrown into physical bulk to help coast out the 3 turns you have with Bulu.

60+ Atk Tapu Bulu Stone Edge vs. 228 HP / 252+ Def Azumarill: 87-103 (21.8 - 25.8%) -- possible 5HKO after Grassy Terrain recovery

Landorus @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 232 Hp, 216 Def, 16 SpAtk, 24 Spd, 20 Spe
Impish Nature
- Earthquake
- Hp Ice
- Stealth Rock
- Sludge Bomb

The purpose of this set is really simple. Bluff being a simple regular defensive Lando, and watch the opposing Tapu Bulu hard swap in to weaken Earthquake and counter. And when a predicted swap-in occurs, nail them with this
16 -SpA Landorus-Therian Sludge Bomb vs. 248 HP / 56 SpD Assault Vest Tapu Bulu: 180-212 (47.8 - 57.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock
Sludge Bomb is preferred over the more powerful Sludge Wave, simply because it spreads poison much better than Sludge Wave and only has a minimal difference in power. The 20 speed is so that Lando speed creeps the Tapu Bulu set. Everything else is pretty much standard

Diancie @ Diancite
Ability: Clear Body
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Diamond Storm
- Hidden Power Fire
- Moonblast
- Stealth Rock

Physical Attacking Mega Diancie is something reminiscent of ORAS, seeing how it was the most common of sets ran back then, and now it appears again as a pretty practical lure. It shows good use in the calcs as to how it manages to lure Tapu Bulu as well as other walls like Toxapex, Heatran, and Mega Venusaur. With Stealth Rock on the field, they all either get 2HKOed or come pretty darn close. A good reason you should use this one over SubEndeavor is your Diancie could do a bit more with this set like setting up Rocks, being a cleaner with Rock Polish, or be your typical AoA. Magnezone is also not near mandatory either. So, SubEndeavor has it's perks, but this is a pretty good alternative that handles a few of what SubEndeavor does at no real expese to you.
252 Atk Diancie-Mega Diamond Storm vs. 248 HP / 0 Def Tapu Bulu: 169-201 (49.2 - 58.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock
252 Atk Diancie-Mega Diamond Storm vs. 252 HP / 4 Def Toxapex: 133-157 (43.7 - 51.6%) -- 66.8% chance to 2HKO after Stealth Rock
252 Atk Diancie-Mega Diamond Storm vs. 248 HP / 0 Def Heatran: 181-214 (47 - 55.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock
252 Atk Diancie-Mega Diamond Storm vs. 248 HP / 88 Def Venusaur-Mega: 148-175 (40.7 - 48.2%) -- 66.4% chance to 2HKO after Stealth Rock

(I know that Life Orb Bullet Seed does a million but idiots always switch Bulu into Loom and this is a cool set)

Breloom @ Fightinium Z
Ability: Technician
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Focus Punch
- Bullet Seed
- Mach Punch

Here's a Breloom set that actually does something versus Pokemon that aren't strictly the victim of the week! Breloom is a seriously slept on threat and can severely shit on balance teams if played correctly, and you can even run Sash to put offensive teams in checkmate positions if played correctly. This set in particular is a cool balance breaker that can just run through fat teams if played correctly. SD + Z Focus Punch can blow past all of Breloom's normal counters and also gives it a one time nuke to use vs key threats on offensive teams like Magearna and friends. It's preferable to have rocks up when using this set as they help a ton in helping it notch key KOes vs the things it's supposed to lure.
+2 252+ Atk Breloom All-Out Pummeling (200 BP) vs. 232 HP / 0 Def Venusaur-Mega: 300-353 (83.5 - 98.3%) -- 68.8% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock
252+ Atk Breloom All-Out Pummeling (200 BP) vs. 248 HP / 0 Def Magearna: 318-375 (87.6 - 103.3%) -- 56.3% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock
+2 252+ Atk Breloom All-Out Pummeling (200 BP) vs. 248 HP / 0 Def Tapu Bulu: 318-374 (92.7 - 109%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock
