Nominating Mantine as a hard check

Mantine @ Leftovers
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 248 HP / 172 Def / 88 SpD
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Scald
- Defog
- Air Slash
- Roost

Mantine resists 3/4 of Kommo-o's staple Specs moves, being able to come into those and either Roost, fire off Scald burns/Slashes, or Defog hazards away. The only thing this Mantine worries about is the combination of Clanging Scales + Rocks dmg at the same time; if its just the Scales, just roost away until they switch or run out.

252 SpA Choice Specs Kommo-o Flash Cannon vs. 248 HP / 88+ SpD Mantine: 35-41 (9.3 - 10.9%)

252 SpA Choice Specs Kommo-o Focus Blast vs. 248 HP / 88+ SpD Mantine: 78-92 (20.9 - 24.6%)

252 SpA Choice Specs Kommo-o Clanging Scales vs. 248 HP / 88+ SpD Mantine: 144-169 (38.6 - 45.3%)

Florges @ Leftovers
Ability: Flower Veil
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD
Bold Nature
- Aromatherapy
- Wish
- Moonblast
- Protect / Synthesis

Dodges the 2HKO from Flash Cannon (even after Rocks if you have Protect) and OHKOes back with Moonblast. None of Kommo-o's other moves do noteworthy damage to it. You can be put into a Bizarre stalemate where you constantly have to heal off Flash Cannons but that drains their PP so it's better for them to switch in case of Moonblast.

252 SpA Choice Specs Kommo-o Flash Cannon vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Florges: 150-178 (41.6 - 49.4%) -- 22.3% chance to 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery (Turns into a 3HKO after Protect)
252 SpA Choice Specs Kommo-o Flash Cannon vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Florges: 150-178 (41.6 - 49.4%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Leftovers recovery
252 SpA Choice Specs Kommo-o Focus Blast vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Florges: 84-99 (23.3 - 27.5%) -- possible 5HKO after Leftovers recovery
252 SpA Choice Specs Kommo-o Flamethrower vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Florges: 85-100 (23.6 - 27.7%) -- possible 5HKO after Leftovers recovery

Gardevoir @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Trace
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Moonblast
- Psyshock
- Trick
- Healing Wish

Choice Scarf Gardevoir is a Check to Specs Kommo-o, outspeeding it thanks to Choice Scarf and OHKOing Kommo-o easily with Moonblast. It can also come in on a predicted Clanging Scales or Focus Blast, as it's immune or takes very little damage from the moves, respectively. However, it cannot switch in on Flash Cannon, as it does a ton to Garde. However Garde's ability to come in safely on two of Kommo-o's attacks and kill it off easily makes it a decent check.

252 SpA Gardevoir Moonblast vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Kommo-o: 580-688 (199.3 - 236.4%) -- guaranteed OHKO

252 SpA Choice Specs Kommo-o Flash Cannon vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Gardevoir: 192-228 (69.3 - 82.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Meloetta as a check to specs Kommo-o. You can come in on any attack and proceed to outspeed Kommo-o and bop it with Psychic. Meloetta is also a pretty cool breaker right now dealing with Umbreon, Registeel and Snorlax via All-Out Pummeling.

252 SpA Meloetta Psychic vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Kommo-o: 282-332 (96.9 - 114%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock

So the winners this week are:

Checks
PursuitOfHappiny's Comfey
Comfey can even take a Flash Cannon if needed, taking other moves with ease, can OHKO Kommo-o with Draining Kiss 100% of the time or can Calm Mind if Kommo-o is choice-locked in anything but Flash Cannon

spookysocialist's Milotic
A low chance to be 2HKOed after Rocks by Focus Blast, Milotic can beat Kommo-o most times, the only is that you will be pressured to recover and give a free and easy switch or allow Kommo-o to attack again, but anyway it will most of the time avoid a 2HKO from anything even with Rocks.

Cheryl.'s Scarf Gardevoir
One of my favorite Scarf users, Gardevoir Scarf can even take a Flash Cannon if needed, take almost nothing from Kommo-o's STABs or Flamethrower and OHKO it 100% of the time with a STAB Moonblast, a STAB Psyshock also work after some prior damage.

And the honourable mention goes to:
Mylo Xyloto's Offensive Calm Mind Meloetta
My set!!!. Well, just like Gardevoir it can take 1 hit if needed and OHKO Kommo-o, the only difference is that it doesn't need to choice lock itself (and Gardevoir is better ofc) and you can Calm Mind on the switch as well (and I'm sure Focus won't 2HKO at +1 SpD), probably would be chosen over Scarf Garde but Meloetta isn't a great mon rn, it's a good check to Kommo-o anyway

Counters
The Bill Cipher's Specially Defensive Cresselia
This is very easy, take Clanging for days, will be able to recover all the damage or 2HKO with Psychic, doesn't even care about Spike stacking or Rocks

Miyami~~'s Florges
If you still have Leftovers, you avoid the 2HKO from Flash Cannon so it's safe, will be forced to Wish but will still be able to take and OHKO Kommo-o

Alolan Grumeaux's Assault Vest Slowking
Slowking AV will take Clanging Scales for days and have Regenerator to help, you will be good, you also have a very useful Future Sight and in the worse scenario, you can just phaze Kommo-o out with Dragon Tail

And our next Victim of the Week will be:
Physical Sharpedo

Sharpedo @ Life Orb
Ability: Speed Boost
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Protect
- Waterfall
- Crunch
- Psychic Fangs

Sharpedo, after a lot of weeks we almost chose this we decided to finally give a chance to one of the biggest Offense threats in the meta as Victim of the Week, this set have basically 2 STABs and a move that gives it coverage against Fighting- and Poison-types with a good Base power, helping against mons it would miss the KO otherwise, usually used to clean late game, Sharpedo is usually a threat to most teams, mainly to offensively oriated ones.

EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe

- Hidden Power Fire/ Earth Power
- Psychic/Dazziling Gleam

Shaymin os one of the best offensive checks to Pedo because of how easily it can kill Sharpedo with Seed Flare(or Dazziling Gleam if you are worried about accuracy)
It's only a check because it's 2HKOd by Crunch,so keep shaymin healthy until pedo comes and don't switch shaymin on pedo.
Pedo is heavily pressured by Shaymin, and will have to switch out unless shaymin is 50% in health or less

252 SpA Life Orb Shaymin Seed Flare vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Sharpedo: 858-1009 (305.3 - 359%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Porygon2 as a counter. Sharpedo only 3HKO with STABs after rocks while P2 can 2HKO with Thunderbolt or recover off any damage. Porygon2 is also really cool right now since it deals with most relevant special attackers and can pop Thunder Wave to disrupt potential switch-ins.

0 SpA Porygon2 Thunderbolt vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Sharpedo: 274-324 (97.5 - 115.3%) -- 81.3% chance to OHKO

Pangoro as a check

Pangoro @ Lum Berry
Ability: Mold Breaker
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Knock Off
- Drain Punch
- Gunk Shot

(Life Orb is an alternate item)

Pangoro can switch in on Crunch or Psychic Fangs, tank a Waterfall and KO back with Drain Punch while recovering most of its HP back. It is best to do this on a predicted Protect or Psychic Fangs with hazards off as Waterfall is still quite powerful. Alternatively, Pangoro can just come in after something else has fainted although this obviously requires a sacrifice. This is a check because Pangoro cannot take multiple Waterfalls and still has a decent chance to get KOed by high rolls on both Crunch and Waterfall.

252+ Atk Life Orb Sharpedo Crunch vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Pangoro: 55-64 (16.5 - 19.2%) -- possible 5HKO after Stealth Rock
252+ Atk Life Orb Sharpedo Waterfall vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Pangoro: 218-257 (65.6 - 77.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock
Sharpedo Psychic Fangs vs. Pangoro: 0-0 (0 - 0%) -- aim for the horn next time
252+ Atk Mold Breaker Pangoro Drain Punch vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Sharpedo: 524-620 (186.4 - 220.6%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Whimsicott @ Leftovers

EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 Spe

Whimsicott is a Counter to Physical Sharpedo. Being physically defensive, it resists both Waterfall and Crunch, taking little damage. Psychic Fangs doesn't do very much either, and Whimsicott can retaliate with Moonblast for an OHKO on Sharpedo, making it an easy choice for a counter to Sharpedo.

252+ Atk Life Orb Sharpedo Crunch vs. 248 HP / 252+ Def Whimsicott: 70-83 (21.6 - 25.6%) -- possible 5HKO after Leftovers recovery

Just reminding that you have 1 day to write if you reserved something you should write this in 24 hours, if spookysocialist and Miyami~~ don't finish their posts, anyone else may post their Pokémon (Guzzlord and Kommo-o) as check/counter options

Here's a cheeky offensive Snorlax set I've used that checks both physical and special Sharpedo

Snorlax @ Figy Berry
Ability: Gluttony
EVs: 56 HP / 252 Atk / 200 Def
Adamant Nature
- Recycle
- Curse
- Body Slam
- Crunch/Earthquake

The defense EV's are tweaked so that Snorlax takes about the same damage from physical Sharpedo's Crunch/Waterfall as it does from special Sharpedo's Hydro Pump. In both cases if Snorlax switches in with Rocks up he's guaranteed to get his Figy Berry activation. If Snorlax switches in without taking hazard damage then Sharpedo falls short of a 2HKO.

252+ Atk Life Orb Sharpedo Crunch vs. 56 HP / 200 Def Snorlax: 192-227 (40.4 - 47.7%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
252+ SpA Life Orb Sharpedo Hydro Pump vs. 56 HP / 0 SpD Snorlax: 191-226 (40.2 - 47.5%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

Meanwhile, full attack investment gives Snorlax a very high chance to OHKO back with Body Slam (guaranteed after rocks):

252+ Atk Snorlax Body Slam vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Sharpedo: 273-322 (97.1 - 114.5%) -- 81.3% chance to OHKO

What makes this Snorlax work so well as a Sharpedo check is that it fits nicely on offensive teams. It has enough bulk to find switch-in opportunities throughout the game, maximum attack investment means means unboosted body slam is nasty to switch into, and Recycle gives him reliable recovery that is very momentum-friendly. Return or Facade can be run of Body Slam, but I found spreading paralysis worked best for me. Overall I found this set a lot of fun and very versatile, and the ability to check any kind of Sharpedo near the start of the game was a nice perk.

Take Azelfie

Cloyster is so damn physically bulky that Sharpedo will have a hard time breaking through it without a Crunch drop. With Mental Herb you even turn there Sharpedo into set up bait and can punish them for going for Protect. +2 Spear kills all the time.

sharpedos strongest move, could be unlucky or come in on rocks.
252+ Atk Life Orb Sharpedo Crunch vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Cloyster: 105-125 (43.5 - 51.8%) -- 8.6% chance to 2HKO

Comfey is a counter to Sharpedo. It can switch into any hit from the physical (or special) variant even with hazards and OHKO Sharpedo with a Draining Kiss. Assuming Comfey is healthy, it even manages to live critical hits from most moves from either set as well. Conveniently, Comfey fits nicely on offensive teams who usually struggle to deal with Sharpedo.

Thanks for all your submissions, the winners are:
Checks
teachable's Comfey
Supposed to be a counter but given the fact that Waterfall will 2HKO Comfey, it's harder since if you Draining Kiss a switch you probably won't get enough HP to beat Sharpedo once again and if you Synthesis up you will just make Comfey spend it and if Shark click Waterfall you just have another 50/50 so I don't think can be called a counter, it's still a great check anyway.

Cheryl.'s Whimsicott
Another one supposed to be a counter but given you can only switch in once if Shark click Psychic Fangs and Leftovers won't give you enough recovery to be switching I think this is more suitable to put it as a check, does a very job as a check anyway and can easily beat Physical Shark

The Bill Cipher's Shaymin
We got 2 Shaymins this week but Life Orb works better since won't matter that much outspeed Shark when you will come in at it with at least +1, then it can just Protect and start outspeeding you, but Life Orb allows you to take damage if needed and recover back before beating Shark, then you can revenge kill it with Seed Flare or Dazzling Gleam (or according to The Bill Cipher, Dazziling Gleam)

Counters
Mylo Xyloto's Porygon2
Never get 2HKOed even with Rocks, can OHKO with Thunderbolt, have Recover, that's not hard to understand.

Darvin's Recycle CurseLax
While I don't like that it's 252 Atk Adamant, it does a very good job beating Shark can take 2 hits, then you have Figy Berry + Gluttony + Recycle to keep switching if needed, you can also Curse on Sharpedo most of the time

PursuitOfHappiny's Umbreon
Should be a check but it can basically avoid a 2HKO even with Rocks (with Protect), then Wish, Protect and Foul Play Sharpedo, it's not the safest way but will end up beating Sharpedo even if it switches so I think it's suitable as a counter.

And the honorable mention goes to:
spookysocialist's Guzzlord
Can take Sharpedo 3 times and will OHKO with Sludge Bomb (after Life Orb damage) or a STAB Draco Meteor, Sharpedo can't do any damage on this and while you can't recover any damage you can take Shark very well (you can switch on Shark 2/3 times, comparing to Whimsicott, you can switch it once then it can get 2HKOed by Psychic Fangs), it deals very well but wasn't chosen because it's a Guzzlord, doesn't have a good niche in the tier, is just a mon who can stop somethings like Sharpedo and Doublade very well.

And it's underdog week so our next Victim of the Week is:
Choice Specs Yanmega

Yanmega @ Choice Specs
Ability: Tinted Lens
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Bug Buzz
- Air Slash
- Giga Drain / Shadow Ball
- U-Turn

With Tinted Lens you can just 2HKO most of the tier with Bug Buzz, it's really strong with 116 SpA + Specs with an almost unresisted STAB, Air Slash is a secondary STAB that helps against things who resist it (resistance x4 will become a x2 resistance so it will still be resisted by some Pokémon), Giga Drain helps against bulky Water- and Rock-types while Shadow Ball hits some Ghost-types who could resist this better.

Diancie isn't a good counter to Yanmega Specs, because Yanmega can 2HKO it with Giga Drain with Stealth Rocks damage if Diancie switch into this Giga Drain, but it's a very good check. Yanmega do 40 - 48% to Diancie with Giga Drain and Diancie can OHKO it with Diamond Storm.

EVs: 252 HP / 104 Def / 152 SpD
Calm Nature
- Recover
- Ice Beam
- Thunderbolt
- Thunder Wave

Porygon2 is a complete Counter to Choice Specs Yanmega, as it easily tanks Yanmega's STAB moves (only being 3HKOed by Bug Buzz after Stealth Rock) due to it's insane bulk, and has Recover to keep itself healthy to switch in repeatedly on Yanmega. Porygon2 can either paralyze and cripple Yanmega with Thunder Wave, or use one of Thunderbolt or Ice Beam to easily 2HKO Yanmega as you eat up a hit.

252 SpA Choice Specs Yanmega Bug Buzz vs. 252 HP / 152+ SpD Eviolite Porygon2: 111-132 (29.6 - 35.2%) -- 18.7% chance to 3HKO
252 SpA Choice Specs Yanmega Bug Buzz vs. 252 HP / 152+ SpD Eviolite Porygon2: 111-132 (29.6 - 35.2%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Stealth Rock
252 SpA Choice Specs Yanmega Air Slash vs. 252 HP / 152+ SpD Eviolite Porygon2: 93-109 (24.8 - 29.1%) -- guaranteed 4HKO after Stealth Rock

0 SpA Porygon2 Ice Beam vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Yanmega: 214-254 (68.3 - 81.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
