New season, new thread!

So what's everyone's takes on day 1 of the draft? As a Ravens fan, I'm pretty bummed out that we took Stanley over Buckner, a player I had ranked very highly on my personal board.

I'm kind of disappointed by Carolina's Vernon Butler pick. While it's not the worst pick, because he'll be good to use in the DT rotation and has pretty good upside, we really needed to address the DE or CB positions. I don't see any of the better players at those positions falling, unless we trade up, which I also don't see us doing. Overall, it's an alright pick and I'm not too fussed. Gettleman has always liked his "hog mollies" anyways, so I can't say I'm too surprised.

Laremy Tunsil is a dumbass and the Dolphins are taking a huge risk drafting him.

Myles Jack fell really hard, so it's gonna be interesting to see who picks him up in the 2nd round.

first off HOLY SHIT i am so happy that Ramsey is a Jag.

i had convinced myself he wouldn't make it past Dallas.

secondly, Jacks knee must actually be pretty bad, and that sucks.

Jags hitting home runs early on. Ramsey and Jack with their top two? And they're getting Fowler back, so you've basically got three Top 5 players debuting at the same time. AFC South could be sneaky good next season.
not sneaky good, Jacksonville will be literally everyone's "le dark horse wildcard" next season

they have a solid chance at having a superstar at every level for 3-4 years, though, perfect chance to end the "lol Jags" memes

I really like the Ryan Kelly pick for Indianapolis. Taking a center at pick 18 is arguably a reach but it's definitely a need and he is by far the best center in the draft. I just hope Cody Whitehair falls to us in the 2nd round so we get 2 good linemen for our first 2 picks then draft some pass rushers because this draft class is deep with pass rushers and interior D-Linemen
EDIT: Wow the Bears took him one pick before us :[

Laremy Tunsil has a superpower that's not smoking, and it's something the media doesn't understand: Telling the truth! I love how he was basically giving himself a good name and his PR bitch or whoever was like "he's done answering questions" or whatever bullshit because she's still brainwashed that lying to the media somehow makes you a better person. I'll be honest, the dude is gonna be really good as we continue to see him take great responsibility for his mistakes.

Also the Jags are gods. If Jack can stay healthy long-term, the Jags basically gain 3 top-5 draft picks, including what were once the consensus top 2 players in the entire draft this year and what many believed was one of the best last year. The Jags defensive additions this offseason? Fowler, Jack, Ramsey, Amukamara, Jackson, and Gipson. That's 6 high-end starters, despite 3 of them being rookies. Sen'derrick Marks is already established inside, so I have a feeling we will see Fowler lining up on the outside with Jackson playing both Leo and Strong Side DT. Jared Odrick can play the Leo, but on pass rushing downs, we drafted a couple of young studs that can really get pressure. High-motor, fast players who have strong first-steps and can get past linemen are guys who will always have success at this level.

Don't understand Brandon Allen though. Nice backup to Bortles, but he already has a solid mentor in Chad Henne.

I'm a bit surprised the Cowboys took a RB that high, better hope he's the new All Day as RBs haven't been picked that high in how long since it's a pretty devalued position these days, considering the other defensive talent they could have drafted instead...

I like my Niners' first selection (Kelly really likes his Ducks), but I disagree with trading back into R1 for a guard, seems a bit overreaching as they could have probably gotten him or a similar caliber player in R2. Though if he turns out to be a solid contributor and day 1 starter, guess it works out. I say they should have drafted a QB in R4 where there was still some quality over a likely wasted 6th rounder on camp/scout fodder. If Kap can't get it together it'll be another losing season if they roll with Gabbert and who the hell knows at backup, I think he vastly overperformed when he started the last half of last season and that Kelly probably overrates his ability to get the most out of QBs if Gabbert has to start. Bradford, hell even Foles were better than Gabbert I think.

Feeling that the Jags will finally hit the playoffs this year, they've assembled a pretty strong team on paper, now it just needs to perform to that level. Helps they play in a largely weak conference too.

The Jags are still probably a year away from making some noise, but their draft was ridiculous and their division sucks. Wouldn't surprise me to see them win it at 8-8 this year, also wouldnt surprise me if they went 5-11. Young teams have a wide range of outcomes.

Watching the draft kills your soul. Just a damn fact at this point.

Sounds like the Patriots drafted the next Michael Oher/poverty porn story player in the 3rd round with Malcolm Mitchell. Had something like a below 7th grade reading level in college and lost scholarships and had to go elsewhere, ends up tearing an acl and uses the injury downtime to join a local book club with a bunch of middle aged white women. Dude starts to love reading and eventually publishes a children's book about the magic of reading. Can't wait for that scene where the white woman rescues this poor man from some awkward racist tension in the future movie. Gonna be DOPE.

Man I love the Titans pick up. I can't wait to see the running game! I think the AFC South is going to be most improved.

Love me some Malcolm Mitchell, dude should have been a stud before he injured himself celebrating Todd Gurley's huge run in the 2013 Clemson game. Dude was never close to 100% until the very end of his college career. I guarantee he would have been a 1st round pick had he played his entire college career, and his off the field story just makes him that much easier to root for. I really hope his knee holds up, he can be a first year contributor for sure, even if it is for the second worst team possible :^)

i forgot that i never came back in here after the rest of the draft.

like holy shit guys lol.

i believe Bradley has said Fowler will start at Leo and get comfortable there, and they they'll start moving him around and doing some more exotic things.

i like the Allen pick because that means we have enough depth to not draft immediate starters at positions of need. drafting a QB late every few years when you have The Guy is great, if you find a future star there you can groom him.

and i'm having wet dreams about Jack covering Tight Ends.

so manziel went and got his mug shot:

Manziel is accused of beating up his ex-girlfriend, Colleen Crowley, back in January. She filed a restraining order against him claiming she was in fear for her life. She also claimed Manziel ruptured her eardrum.

If convicted on the assault charge, Manziel faces up to a year in jail.

Police tell us Manziel wasn't in the station very long, and was polite and cooperative.

amazing, sort of expected, but still shameful how he's ruined his potential in the nfl. makes cleveland look really foolish for taking the chance on him. he could've proven his detractors wrong instead he's just another first round qb bust a la jamarcus. except replace purple drank with illicit vegas exploits and DV (if convicted).

sad thing is his nfl play has never warranted the amount of press he gets LOL.

anw we drafted some oline bois so we ready to be less terribad than before there.. hopefully.

seems like bitches want money
honestly it's probably more likely he got involved with a gold digger. and not the type you see in shitty, fake youtube pranks, but the kind that will come on to you and then scream rape when you touch them.

still stupid af on his part.
