Round 19:

Stakataka has still remained as a solid late-game cleaner and early-game wallbreaker due to its great power and STABs. It requires a lot if support, but it can be quite the threatening force once it is on the field. This round will end on Saturday, good luck!

Pretty straightforward hyper offense. The initial idea was to run Screens HO + Weakness Policy Stakataka but the WP never activated when I tested. I changed it to Chople so Stakataka can eat a hit from Bulu or Kartana and KO it.

Lando-T is the suicide lead. Koko sets up the screens for the other 3 setup sweepers. The four sweepers compliment each other fairly well offensively. Stakataka and/or Groundium-Z Zygarde can break Clefable for Hawlucha and M-Gyarados. Koko, M-Gyarados, and/or Zygarde can break Toxapex for Lucha or Stakataka. All but Koko can weaken Ferrothorn for M-Gyarados.

This is a team i've tested a bit, it's obviously built around OTR Stakataka. Zapdos provides both a Fighting- and Ground-type attack check for Stakataka and can remove entry hazards. I felt that Mega Tyranitar could work quite nicely because of its ability to beat Mega Scizor and Landorus-T for Stakataka. Tapu Bulu weakens Earthquakes for Mega Tyranitar and Stakataka, it also provides a good check to Tapu Koko, Ash Greninja, and Tapu Lele. Heatran benefits heavily from Tapu Bulu's Grassy Terrain, it can threaten Pokemon like Mega Scizor, Celesteela, and Ferrothorn and provides a good form of speed control for my team. Landorus-T can set up Stealth Rock and bring in Tyranitar or Stakataka via U-turn.

I haven't posted in general in a really long time zzz, why do I even come here

I built this w Jytcampbell who'll probably flame me for posting this but who cares what he has to say right? We started off with a Stakataka and Alomomola core cause it was straight heater and the two complimented each other really well as they handled a decent amount of each others threats while Alomomola could pass of its wishes. Next, we added M-Latias for a solid win condition as the team was really passive just from the initial core. Defog Zapdos was added next for hazard removal, and to handle threats such as M-Pinsir which bopped us. The hazard removal is also key to keep M-Latias as healthy as possible. CB TTar was added for the wallbreaking potential and at this point offensive waters, more specifically Greninja-Ash was a problem so AV Bulu was added.

If you are versus a SG Focus Blast Magearna and it set up and got boosts, click X or pray to RNG that focus blast misses.

It is a defensive team based on Stakataka. As it is well appreciated is the best thought before any threat. Well, the set of the common mon is TR + Z move, because that's how it uses to attack first in a great way. Superpower is a good option if you do not want to lock yourself up against Ferro / Ttar. On the other hand, EQ is the same for everything called Heatran / Toxapex. Tapu Bulu seems to me a good support. His ability protects from spam ground, although remember the x4. I especially like this set, I think it fits very well here. All this always needs the help of a mon with Defog, here it is Mantine's turn. Good choice as it covers well threats such as Keldeo or Greninja. Ferrothorn was quick as light. It forms a very interesting defensive core with the previous one. It also allows me to press with Spikes. I needed the power of a mega and what better than ZardX? In addition to a classic core like FWG. WoW is the best way to stop the perfect balance of the metagame that is Landorust. And speaking of this bug, here it comes. Well, finally enter my SR user and stability of the team with Intimidate + Rocky.

I figure I might as well give this a go.

I obviously started with Staka. After reviewing its checks and counters, so many of them were stopped by a decent Bulu that he was next up on the list as a fantastic partner. He deals with bulky Waters and Water/Grounds that Staka can't puncture without a billion Beast Boosts. It also weakens EQs for Staka, which is neat.

Next up was Gliscor. It serves as a good Defogger, as well as a great bulky mon in general, but with recovery unlike Lando-T (and I just abhor using Lando-T). I'm a huge Gliscor fan too, so I wanted to use it. Resists Staka's weaknesses, and can murder Heatrans since this Staka is running Superpower not EQ. Starting off of that backbone, I added good ol' CelePex for some great defensive pivoting to the team. Those two plus Gliscor counter plenty of threats and aren't overly susceptible to hazards if I can't get a Defog off. They are prepared for a lot though, which was a shortcoming.

Now I had to think about how I wanted games to go. I could either fill this last slot with something offensive to co wallbreak/sweep with Staka, or go full defensive and let Staka be the cleaner end game. I chose the latter, primarily because up to this point my entire team was murdered by Mega-Medicham a few times. Once that thing got in, it was game over without some kind of miracle. Sableye serves as my Rock "setter", third Item remover, general wall/annoyer, and Medicham stop. It also stops Ferro, which is another annoyance to Staka.

The idea is to whittle down threats bit by bit, and then let Staka come in end game and Trick Room once for a full sweep. Bulu weakens its counters as well as taking a few KOs itself. The rest of the team just weakens and annoys until Assembly can destroy.

Hard Trick Room. Simple and easy. First mon is the lonely stakataka, kills everything with gyro and sets up it's own trick room, Second is a trick room standard mag with fight for tran and ferro, Next, is wak for electric immunity and hard hitter. Next, is the tree with trick room and make sure you don't get 6-0 by bulu or rain teams. Next is another trick room standard the fat beauty herself Cres, ice beam for brain dead lando players and checking the snake dragon that starts with a z. Finally, mimikyu for guarantee trick room and/or burn so you don't get 6-0 by pinsir, heracross, and faster wak.

Best of luck to all the teams
