I didn't find a simple q/a thread, so I'll ask it here. What happens if I use Diancite on a mon with insanely low defenses (like Pheromsa)? Because the deduction is actually bigger than Pher's base defenses, will it trigger the overflow glitch in reverse?

Why do people run Purify on mons? Isn't it just worse Recover that also helps your opponent? Like I guess it could stop some Poison Heal/ guts mons but they would just get statused again the next turn.
