  1. Pokémon Alola Persian

well I was actually thinking more along the lines of what about the other parting shot mons? I mean I know this is the persian thread and I don't wanna side track it but has anyone tried z-parting shot pangoro for example? Edit: to keep it more on topic, how does alolan persian stack up v other...
  2. Pokémon Alola Persian

I see people talking about the value of his fast z-parting shot but wouldn't a slow parting shot be better? Tank the hit, then switch out and bring your sweeper in full as opposed to switching out and they get when they come in
  3. Pokémon Alola Ninetales

I haven't tried it myself yet but I did play against someone running an Abomasnow + Tales hail team but I crushed him pretty easy with a normal team... Idk it's a tricky thing to balance, I really think Tales and Sandslash are decent but it's like if you want to support Sandslash more you have...
  4. Pokémon Alola Ninetales

Yea I think heavily offensive is definitely the way to go for hail. I was impressed by Alola Slash too when I was messing around with him, I ran a set with swords dance and the ice z crystal and it was pretty easy to bring him in on something he resists (which is allot, I think people keep...
  5. Metagame Mega Evolution in Sun & Moon

That's what's so boring about it, they mostly left us with the stuff everyone already knows is good. Honestly if they want to insist on leaving some stones out I'd rather they flipped it around.
  6. Pokémon Alola Marowak

In OU no, even after a speed boost he'd still be way slower than most OU mons. What's making him work right now is that he can force many strong threats to switch out and then hits what ever comes in hard. If he drops to a lower tier though, which I think he will, he might be able to take...
  7. Metagame Mega Evolution in Sun & Moon

Still a really really stupid thing for them to do but I guess this is game freak we're talking about here.
  8. Metagame Mega Evolution in Sun & Moon

Yup. It is incredibly lame and I don't understand why they would do this.
  9. Metagame Mega Evolution in Sun & Moon

So disappointed with the ones they cut out many of them would benefit immensely from the changes to mega evo mechanics (speed and ability on first turn now) or from the terrains. The ones they left in on the other hand are pretty boring, they're mostly things that were already good or bad and...
  10. Pokémon Alola Ninetales

Magic Bounce stops them from being defogged too.
  11. Pokémon Alola Exeggutor

Obviously Mega Zard Y would still be a way better drought user but do you really think classic Ninetales is better than Torkoal? I'm not convinced of that. Also I think you can almost assume that any sun team is going to run Torkoal and Zard-Y or Ninetales and Zard Y if they can, back up...
  12. Pokémon Decidueye

I always have a hard time coming up with sets but I was just thinking this guy could work in a sort of slow u-turn core with Pelipper maybe. Add in Magnezone for perfect thunders and added ability to trap and kill steel types along side spirit shackle, then maybe run something that hates steels...
  13. Pokémon Pelipper

Just started trying this, honestly I'm not that impressed. I love Marowak and I did get good use out of him with Alola Ninetales but with Pelipper it just feels like a different mon could cover Pelipper's electric weakness better, the rain induced drop in his fire STAB moves is very noticeable...
  14. Pokémon Alola Ninetales

That's pretty interesting. Alola Tales teams are easily what I have played the most so far and these are my observations -M Sableye is great for stopping veil from getting defogged, also immune to brick break -Alola Sandslash is shockingly good, he has a few really bad weaknesses but a ton...
  15. Pokémon Alola Ninetales

Fini is an option as well though, it defogs and set up sweepers like the protection from status that misty terrain brings.
  16. Pokémon Alola Marowak

Yea I'm not convinced SD is good honestly, he hits super hard anyways. I like Bonerang for hitting things like Toxapex on the switch in, yea Shadow Bone does allot of damage too but ground coverage is nice imo.
  17. Pokémon Alola Ninetales

Volcarona is a strong partner option for this mon imo, sets up on the steel types ninetales hates.
  18. Move Z-Move Discussion

I've tried icium z on alolan sandslash and it worked pretty well. Though he has some terrible weaknesses he also has good resistances so he can force a switch out and grab a swords dance, then you just nuke whatever comes out next. In general though z attack moves probably aren't going to be...
  19. Pokémon Alola Marowak

what will be funny is playing him in Ubers after these mons get banned. lol Marowak, PU and Uber viable.
  20. Pokémon Alola Marowak

So I think pretty much everyone has come to appreciate his shockingly high viability at least right now but what are some meta changes that might bring this guy down? I mean right now he's insane cause we have people thinking they can just spam UB's and Genesect and win but he counters them all...
