This bug team revolves around hazards, therefore having Espeon's Magic Bounce to prevent these hazards being set and yet giving them back to the opposing team especially being a bug team which doesnt appreciate hazards at all provides great support for this core. Scarf Victini is a huge threat to bug in general and can OHKO/2HKO everything except Shuckle. Slowbro is just to provide physical bulk for this team since this bug team has 3 physical sweepers.

water has a pretty damn easy matchup vs bug thanks to these two mons right here. empoleon almost always manages to get up rocks as well as keep them away from our side along with webs. it also walls volcarona and roars it out whenever it wants and beats shuckle 1v1 in a hazard battle as long as you can predict safely with the encore. with rocks up and webs away scarf volcanion finds it extremely easy to click steam eruption and pretty much annihilate the team. m-heracross and scolipede however can take a kill whenever they come in on empoleon which is why intimidate gyara is really nice to have although i didn't include it in the core because it isn't as necessary.
