With Choice Specs, Gholdengo is an absolutely nuclear wallbreaker, wielding a nigh unresistable STAB combination capable of breaking through many defensive cores once safely on the field. Getting it onto the field is a relatively easy task considering Gholdengo's naturally solid bulk and stellar typing, giving it no trouble finding opportunities to fire off strong attacks versus passive Pokemon such as Toxapex and Ferrothorn, as well as more dangerous offensive threats such as Sneasler and Iron Valiant. Thunderbolt is capable of effectively hitting Tera Water Garganacl, one of the few Pokemon capable of fending off Gholdengo's STAB moves, as well as being Gholdengo’s strongest option against Alomomola, Toxapex, and Hisuian Samurott. Focus Blast can be used to score an OHKO on Ferrothorn and heavily dent Heatran. Trick allows Gholdengo to hinder targets such as Ting Lu, while shutting down bulky wincons such as Cresselia and Garganacl. A Modest nature can be used for extra power, notably guaranteeing an OHKO on Landorus-T from full HP, but a Timid nature allows Gholdengo to outrun Mega Gyarados while also guaranteeing a Speed tie at worst versus opposing offensive Gholdengo variants. Gholdengo struggles versus faster paced team compositions that can deny it the opportunity to reliably fire off its attacks, so teammates who can force in defensive pieces like Landorus-T and Zapdos such as Mega Lopunny and Alomomola can give it the necessary opportunities. Alomomola makes for a particularly great teammate, as it is able to keep Gholdengo healthy throughout the course of a game with Wish, giving it more opportunities to use its solid defensive profile to find opportunities to wallbreak.

With a Choice Specs equipped, Gholdengo is an absolutely nuclear wallbreaker, wielding a nigh unresistable STAB combination capable of breaking through many defensive cores once safely on the field. This is a relatively easy task considering Gholdengo's naturally solid bulk and stellar typing, giving it no trouble finding opportunities to fire off strong attacks versus passive Pokemon such as Toxapex and Ferrothorn, as well as more dangerous offensive threats such as Sneasler and Iron Valiant. Thunderbolt is capable of effectively hitting Tera Water Garganacl, one of the few Pokemon capable of fending off Gholdengo's STABs, as well as being its strongest option into Alomomola, Toxapex prob the first mon that comes to mind when you list this move and Hisuian Samurott. Focus Blast can alternatively be used to score an OHKO on Ferrothorn and heavily dent Heatran. Trick allows Gholdengo to cripple targets such as Clodsire clod fell off tbh Ting-Lu, while simultaneously shutting down bulky win-conditions such as Cresselia and Garganacl. A Modest nature can be used for extra power, notably guaranteeing an OHKO onto Landorus-T from full, but Timid allows Gholdengo to outrun Mega Gyarados while also guaranteeing a tie at worst versus opposing offensive Gholdengo variants. Gholdengo struggles into faster paced team compositions that can deny it the opportunity to reliably fire off its attacks, so teammates who can force in defensive pieces like Landorus-T and Zapdos such as Mega Lopunny and Alomomola can give it the necessary opportunities. Alomomola makes for a particularly great teammate as it is able to keep Gholdengo healthy throughout the course of a game with Wish, giving it more opportunities to use its solid defensive profile to find opportunities to wallbreak.

With a Choice Specs equipped, Gholdengo is an absolutely nuclear wallbreaker, wielding a nigh unresistable STAB combination capable of breaking through many defensive cores once safely on the field. This is (clarification on the task (getting on the field) could be needed) a relatively easy task considering Gholdengo's naturally solid bulk and stellar typing, giving it no trouble finding opportunities to fire off strong attacks versus passive Pokemon such as Toxapex and Ferrothorn, as well as more dangerous offensive threats such as Sneasler and Iron Valiant. Thunderbolt is capable of effectively hitting Tera Water Garganacl, one of the few Pokemon capable of fending off Gholdengo's STABs STAB moves, as well as being its Gholdengo's strongest option into against Alomomola, Toxapex, and Hisuian Samurott. Focus Blast can alternatively be used to score an OHKO on Ferrothorn and heavily dent Heatran. Trick allows Gholdengo to cripple greatly hinder (GP doesn't want to use cripple anymore, I believe) targets such as Ting Lu, Ting-Lu while simultaneously (don't think you need simultaneously here, but it's not wrong) shutting down bulky win-conditions wincons such as Cresselia and Garganacl. A Modest nature can be used for extra power, notably guaranteeing an OHKO onto Landorus-T from full HP, but a Timid nature allows Gholdengo to outrun Mega Gyarados while also guaranteeing a Speed tie at worst versus opposing offensive Gholdengo variants. Gholdengo struggles into versus faster paced team compositions that can deny it the opportunity to reliably fire off its attacks, so teammates who can force in defensive pieces like Landorus-T and Zapdos such as Mega Lopunny and Alomomola can give it the necessary opportunities. Alomomola makes for a particularly great teammate, (AC) as it is able to keep Gholdengo healthy throughout the course of a game with Wish, giving it more opportunities to use its solid defensive profile to find opportunities to wallbreak.
