Overview

As a dual Bug/Dark type, Lokix's typing is a bit of a strange one. Its the only Bug/Dark in existence and it's typing defensively isn't that good, as a weakness to Stealth Rock and the common Fairy and Fire types leaves Lokix struggling defensively, although an immunity to Psychic and resistance to Ground is nice. Offensively, Lokix fares better. Ghost and Steel resist Bug, but Dark can threaten Ghost and hits Steel neutrally. On the flip side, Dark gets resisted by itself, and Bug is alright against it. However, both types are resisted by Fairy. This doesn't matter most of the time, as Lokix's access to the ability Tinted Lens allows these resistances to be negated. It's speed leaves a bit to be desired, but it's double priority can fix that.

Double Priority Revenge Killer

Move 1: First Impression
Move 2: Sucker Punch
Move 3: U-Turn/ Knock Off
Move 4: Axe Kick/Knock Off

Item: Silver Powder/Life Orb/Choice Band
Ability: Tinted Lens
Nature: Adamant
EVs: 252 Atk/252 Spe/4 SpDef
Tera Type: Bug
Moves
The combination of First Impression and Tinted Lens allows Lokix to reliably come in and pick off enemies that otherwise resist Bug like Tornadus-Therian. Sucker Punch is another strong priority move, as it threatens the Ghost types in the tier like Ceruledge and Gengar. U-turn is a good option on Lokix, as it's a good move in general and allows Lokix to reset the First Impression restriction of only working on your first turn of when you switch in. Knock Off is also good, as it's a good STAB move and helps Lokix's team a lot, especially if it's Leftovers from a Goodra-Hisui or Iron Treads. Axe Kick can help Lokix against Steel types and Tyrantiar, although it's usage is a bit questionable when considering it's ability and its huge drawback.

Set Details
252 Attack EVs backed up by Adamant nature allows Lokix is deal huge damage with its double priority. 252 Speed is there to help Lokix with its non-priority moves and switch out with U-turn safely. Silver Powder is there to help Lokix with its First Impression, but Life Orb is also an option if you don't mind the drawback and prefer more power on all moves. Choice Band gives you maximum power, but requires you to constantly hard switch Lokix out if you are using First Impression.

Team Options
Lokix is mainly used on hyper offense teams, because of its reliable revenge killing tactics, although it can have a niche on rain teams. Lokix appreciates bulky pokemon like Goodra-Hisui, especially on Choice Band sets, and would appreciate Rapid Spinners like Iron Treads to remove Stealth Rocks. Offensively, Lokix pairs well with any heavy hitter as it's a revenge killer, but some notable options are Haxorus and Gyarados in UU and Dragonite and Dragapult in OU. Additionally, if your team needs a Psychic type-counter, definitely look into Lokix.

Hi, welcome to the UU analyses subforum. We are not currently taking submissions for analyses at the moment due to the DLC, please check out the following thread if you want to see how our reservation system works and view it for when we do release new slates for writing.

If you do ever end up writing something, I would point out that you would want to make sure to stick to the prescribed formats in the following thread as this analysis is full of syntax errors and format issues that would prevent it from being uploaded. We also don't talk about OU in UU analyses as Pokemon get separate analyses in OU if they are viable in that tier.

If you have any suggestions on Lokix's sets that are on site in particular then you are welcome to discuss them in our #sv-analyses channel in the UU Discord. I would note however that Lokix typically prefers Heavy-Duty Boots as its main item here, and its not remotely a Hyper Offense specific thing and more a BO structure Pokemon that is used to provide a lot of revenge killing and priority potential to a team on top of pivoting etc.

I'll be locking this thread now but feel free to message me if you have any questions.
