[OVERVIEW]
Unfortunately, Meloetta simply has no place in the UU metagame. Despite its great Special Attack and natural bulk, its mediocre typing leaves with only two resistances and a common weakness in Dark, it lacks recovery, and it has an average Speed tier that puts it behind most Choice Scarf users even with a boost. For these reasons, it is hopelessly outclassed by Latias as an offensive Psychic-type. The closest it has to a worthwhile niche is as a late-game sweeper with Z-Celebrate, which, even with its bulk and power, is easy to both wall and overwhelm offensively due to its aforementioned setbacks.

Z-Celebrate Meloetta aims to function as either a late-game cleaner or a wallbreaker for hyper offense teams. Though the listed attacks have solid coverage and Meloetta is quite strong, it only has one shot to truly accomplish anything, as it is quite vulnerable the turn it sets up, can only set up once, and is not much of a threat without a boost. Its added bulk upon boosting doesn't help much, either, as its lack of resistances and recovery makes it more delicate than its stats might imply. This leaves it easy to wear down or simply revenge kill, as it fails to outspeed the ubiquitous Choice Scarf Krookodile and Choice Scarf Hydreigon.
