Mistakes may prove helpful! An OU Warstory

Hello everyone! I am DDnite and this is my first Pokemon Warstory. The battle was between me and someone I will refer to as "Foe", as I didn't ask for permission for writing this and I don't want anything to go wrong. I really enjoyed the battle and that's the reason I want to share it.

My team:

The opponent's team will be shown at the end of the warstory.

Battle between Pokemaniac7 and Foe started!

Pokemaniac7 sent out Starmie!
Foe sent out Yanmega!

The match starts and I'm not in a good position. Yanmega can KO me with Bug Buzz even though I have a Focus Sash, as my Thunderbolt can't OHKO. I thought that weakening and then revenging with Scizor would be good, so I went for T-bolt.

Start of turn 1

The foe's Yanmega used Protect!
The foe's Yanmega protected itself!

Starmie used Thunderbolt!
The foe's Yanmega protected itself!
The foe's Yanmega's Speed Boost increases its speed!
The foe's Yanmega's Speed rose!

100% - 100%

This isn't good...I thought Yanmega had Tinted Lens as its ability, but now it gets a Speed boost for free and it can outspeed even my Scarfzor. Realising that Starmie will be wasted, I switched to my Special wall, Tyranitar, so that I could trick the foe into thinking that it was a Choice Banded one that could threaten with Stone Edge. Also, Bug Buzz would 3HKO, allowing me to attack.(In the next 2 turns I realised that it was a terrible move to do...)

Start of turn 2

Pokemaniac7 called Starmie back!
Pokemaniac7 sent out Tyranitar!
Tyranitar's Sand Stream whipped up a sandstorm!

The foe's Yanmega used Bug Buzz!
It's super effective!

Tyranitar lost 40% of its health!
The sandstorm rages!
The foe's Yanmega is buffeted by the sandstorm!
The foe's Yanmega's Speed Boost increases its speed!
The foe's Yanmega's Speed rose!

Tyranitar restored a little HP using its Leftovers!

66% - 94%

OK, Tyranitar is in. Tyranitar's moveset is a strange one, as it contains Seismic Toss/T-wave/Roar/Crunch, in other words it focuses on shuffling/statusing rather than attacking. I thought that beating Yanmega would involve lowering it's Speed, so...

Start of turn 3

The foe's Yanmega used Bug Buzz!
It's super effective!

Tyranitar lost 41% of its health!
Tyranitar used Thunder Wave!

The foe's Yanmega is paralyzed! It may be unable to move!
The foe's Yanmega's Speed Boost increases its speed!
The foe's Yanmega's Speed rose!

31% - PAR 88%

Yanmega was paralyzed, but it can still outspeed T-tar. I guess T-tart stops here.

Start of turn 4

The foe's Yanmega is paralyzed! It can't move!
Tyranitar used Crunch!
The foe's Yanmega lost 38% of its health!
The foe's Yanmega's Speed Boost increases its speed!
The foe's Yanmega's Speed rose!

36% - PAR 46%

Paralysis hax strikes and Tyranitar gets to attack, chipping off a portion of Yanmega's health. At least he didn't go down without attacking.

Start of turn 5

The foe's Yanmega used Bug Buzz!
It's super effective!
A critical hit!

Tyranitar lost 36% of its health!
Tyranitar fainted!

The foe's Yanmega's Speed Boost increases its speed!
The foe's Yanmega's Speed rose!

Pokemaniac7 sent out Scizor!

0% - 82%

Score: 5-6

First kill of the match. This crit didn't matter , it would KO anyway. I send out Scarfzor to force a switch.

Start of turn 6

Foe called Yanmega back!
Foe sent out Gliscor!

Scizor used U-turn!
It's not very effective...
The foe's Gliscor lost 14% of its health!
Pokemaniac7 called Scizor back!
Pokemaniac7 sent out Jolteon!
Jolteon restored a little HP using its Leftovers!

The foe's Gliscor restored a little HP using its Leftovers!

94% - 92%

Scizor forces Yanmega out successfully, and Gliscor comes in. Jolteon has HP Ice, so it can easily KO. I first subbed to scout switches or Stealth Rock.

Start of turn 7

Jolteon used Substitute!
Jolteon made a substitute!

The foe's Gliscor used Stealth Rock!

Pointed stones float in the air around Pokemaniac7's team!

69% SUB - 98%

It worked out well. Jolteon is safe and, barring a miss, Gliscor will get KO'ed...

Start of turn 8

Jolteon used Hidden Power!
It's super effective!

The foe's Gliscor lost 98% of its health!
The foe's Gliscor fainted!
Foe sent out Yanmega!

Score: 5-5

69% SUB - 0%

...And Gliscor is down. The score is even again. As a bonus, Jolteon is still behind that sub. Now the paralyzed Yanmega comes back in (probably as a death fodder). I chose HP Ice again as it could KO anyway and no Flygon would come in for free and U-turn out to break the sub.

Start of turn 9

The foe's Yanmega used Protect!
The foe's Yanmega protected itself!

Jolteon used Hidden Power!
The foe's Yanmega protected itself!
The foe's Yanmega's Speed Boost increases its speed!
The foe's Yanmega's Speed rose!

69% SUB - PAR 34%

Here, Tyranitar's work pays off. If Yanmega wasn't paralyzed, it would outspeed and break my sub next turn.(Well, it would then be KO'ed, but substitutes are always useful.)

Start of turn 10

Jolteon used Hidden Power!
It's super effective!

The foe's Yanmega lost 34% of its health!
The foe's Yanmega fainted!
Foe sent out Scizor!

69% SUB - 0%

Score: 5-4

Yanmega finally goes down, and Jolteon still has that substitute up. A Scizor comes in and I thought it would Bullet Punch(breaks the Substitute and then sends me low enough to die by Stealth Rock), so I thought Yawn + Substitute would incapacitate it.

Start of turn 11

Jolteon used Yawn!
Jolteon made the foe's Scizor feel drowsy!

The foe's Scizor used U-turn!
Jolteon's substitute faded!
Foe called Scizor back!
Foe sent out Kingdra!

69% - 94%

This couldn't have gone worse...Scizor breaks my sub for free and a Kingdra comes in. Recently most people use the ChestoRest version, so I wanted to make it use the Berry before it sets up, rendering it useless. If, however, my speculation wasn't right, I would at least force a switch.

Start of turn 12

Jolteon used Yawn!
Jolteon made the foe's Kingdra feel drowsy!

The foe's Kingdra used Outrage!
Jolteon lost 75% of its health!
Jolteon fainted!
Pokemaniac7 sent out Skarmory!
Pointed stones dug into Skarmory!

Score: 4-4

0% - 88%

Crap. Jolteon is dead and Kingdra is rampaging. The good news is that no Lefties/Life Orb means that the Kingdra must be a ChestoRest one. Also, I have 3 Dragon-resistant Pokemon. My physical wall, Skarmory, comes in to set up SR and stall that Kingdra.

Start of turn 13

The foe's Kingdra used Outrage!
It's not very effective...

Skarmory lost 16% of its health!
Skarmory used Stealth Rock!

Pointed stones float in the air around Foe's team!
The foe's Kingdra calmed down!
The foe's Kingdra became confused!
The foe's Kingdra fell asleep!
The foe's Kingdra ate its Chesto Berry!
The foe's Kingdra woke up!

72% - 82%

My speculations were right! Kingdra eats his Chesto Berry and thus it can no longer Rest safely. As a plus, it gets confused by Outrage. What's more, SR is up at Foe's side. I'm sure he's switching out, so I can Roost safely.

Start of turn 14

Foe called Kingdra back!
Foe sent out Slowbro!
Pointed stones dug into the foe's Slowbro!

Skarmory used Roost!
Skarmory landed on the ground!
Skarmory regained health!

The foe's Slowbro restored a little HP using its Leftovers!

100% - 88%

Slowbro can't do much damage to me if it doesn't Calm Mind first, so Whirlwind is my next move.

Start of turn 15

The foe's Slowbro used Thunder Wave!
Skarmory is paralyzed! It may be unable to move!
Skarmory is paralyzed! It can't move!

100% PAR - 88%

Unfortunately, Skarm gets paralyzed and, to add insult to injury, it can't even phaze Slowbro out because of it. Nevertheless, I click Whirlwind again.

Start of turn 16

The foe's Slowbro used Hidden Power!
It's super effective!

Skarmory lost 138 HP! (41% of its health)

Skarmory used Whirlwind!

Pointed stones dug into the foe's Scizor!
The foe's Scizor was dragged out!

59% PAR - 88%

This time Whirlwind hits at the cost of getting hit by Slowbro's HP (Electric I suppose) and drags out Scizor. The following U-turn could be seen from a mile away, so it was a good chance to heal Skarm.

Start of turn 17

The foe's Scizor used U-turn!
It's not very effective...

Skarmory lost 9% of its health!
Foe called Scizor back!
Foe sent out Slowbro!
Pointed stones dug into the foe's Slowbro!

Skarmory used Roost!
Skarmory landed on the ground!
Skarmory regained health!

100% PAR - 76%

Slowbro is back and he will most likely use HP again, so it's time for my Scizor to come in and score some damage.

Start of turn 18

Pokemaniac7 called Skarmory back!
Pokemaniac7 sent out Scizor!
Pointed stones dug into Scizor!

The foe's Slowbro used Hidden Power!
A critical hit!

Scizor lost 48% of its health!

40% - 76%

And when I thought I would switch in for minimal damage, HP crits and sends Scizor's health to under half...Trying to predict my opponent, I guess his next move will be Surf, so I go back to Starmie.(After damaging Slowbro, that is.)

Start of turn 19

Scizor used U-turn!
It's super effective!

The foe's Slowbro lost 44% of its health!
Pokemaniac7 called Scizor back!
Pokemaniac7 sent out Starmie!
Pointed stones dug into Starmie!

The foe's Slowbro used Surf!
It's not very effective...

Starmie lost 24% of its health!

58% - 32%

Thankfully, no crits this time :) Time to get rid of Slowbro.

Start of turn 20

Foe called Slowbro back!
Foe sent out Kingdra!
Pointed stones dug into the foe's Kingdra!

Starmie used Thunderbolt!
The foe's Kingdra lost 28% of its health!

52% - 34%

Kingdra comes back to absorb the T-bolt, knowing that he can survive one more and kill me. However, I have something different in store for him...

Start of turn 21

Starmie used Psychic!
The foe's Kingdra lost 34% of its health!
The foe's Kingdra fainted!
Foe sent out Scizor!

Score: 4-3

46% - 0%

A major threat to my team is down and I feel relieved. Now I only need to get rid of that Scizor...The fact that one of my opponent's pokemon is still unknown is threatening, though. I guess I will sacrifice Starmie to let Heatran come in and go for the kill.

Start of turn 22

Starmie used Surf!
The foe's Scizor lost 47% of its health!
The foe's Scizor used Pursuit!
It's super effective!

Starmie lost 45% of its health!
Starmie fainted!
Pokemaniac7 sent out Heatran!
Pointed stones dug into Heatran!

Score: 3-3

0% - 31%

Scizor's Bullet Punch couldn't KO me at that moment, so I thought he would either Pursuit me or U-turn out. In any case, I would get to move first, so I score some damage before losing Starmie. Scizor is definitely not going to stay in, so I will finally get to see my opponent's last pokemon.

Start of turn 23

Foe called Scizor back!
Foe sent out Dusknoir!
Pointed stones dug into the foe's Dusknoir!
The foe's Dusknoir is exerting its Pressure!

Heatran used Flamethrower!
The foe's Dusknoir lost 62% of its health!
The foe's Dusknoir was burned!
The foe's Dusknoir restored a little HP using its Leftovers!
The foe's Dusknoir is hurt by its burn!

88% - 12%

Thankfully, the opponent's last pokemon, a Dusknoir, comes in and takes a Spec'd Flamethrower in the face. It also got burned, but it didn't matter much as I was faster and would hit him before getting hit :)

Start of turn 24

Heatran used Flamethrower!
The foe's Dusknoir lost 12% of its health!
The foe's Dusknoir fainted!
Foe sent out Slowbro!
Pointed stones dug into the foe's Slowbro!

Score: 3-2

88% - 0%

Dusknoir is down, so the game is practically over, as both Scizor and Slowbro are KO'ed by Heatran's Flamethrowers.

Start of turn 25

Heatran used Flamethrower!
It's not very effective...

The foe's Slowbro lost 18% of its health!
The foe's Slowbro fainted!
Foe sent out Scizor!
Pointed stones dug into the foe's Scizor!

Score: 3-1

Good Game.

Start of turn 26

Heatran used Flamethrower!

The foe's Scizor lost 15% of its health!
The foe's Scizor fainted!

Pokemaniac7 won the battle!

It was a great battle! Time for Props and Slops now:

Props:

I want to thank:

-Skarmory for setting up Stealth Rock.
-Tyranitar for Paralyzing Yanmega.
-Heatran for cleaning near the end of the game.
-Jolteon for beating 2 pokemon and incapacitating Kingdra.
-Scizor for weakening Slowbro to the point that Heatran could KO.
-Starmie for killing Kingdra. Refusing to let him die at the start of the match paid off :) (I think I mentioned every team member, lol)
-My opponent for this battle :)

Slops:

-Hax.
-Myself for switching Tyranitar in hastily.
-The foe's Gliscor for doing nothing except SRing. If alive, it could KO both Heatran and Scizor.

Here is the Foe's team:

Your tyranitar build..? I still recommend rock slide / stone edge over seismic toss.

Your opponent wasn't that great, leaving gliscor in on Jolteon for two turns and in general the battle wasn't that.. exciting.

not a great battle, and full of weird gimmicks. i mean seriously, seismic toss ttar? lol

2/10
sorry, better luck next time!
