Copyediting Reuniclus [GP 0/2]

[OVERVIEW]

Reuniclus can serve as both a solid special wall or a dangerous set up sweeper. Its Assault Vest set can take hits from common special attackers like Munkidori, Magnezone, and Dragalge, while its offensive set can set up with Calm Mind and blow through even checks. Its staying power is further bolstered by a combination of Regenerator, Magic Guard, and Recover. Psyshock and Focus Blast hit most of the tier for at least neutral damage, and Knock Off and Future Sight are useful utility. Psychic Noise allows Reuniclus to beat bulkier opponents that would otherwise outheal its damage. Energy Ball can also be a useful option, hitting several Psychic resists in the tier, like Slowbro or Krookodile. Dark-types like Alolan Muk and Krookodile can be problematic, hitting Reuniclus hard with Knock Off. Psychic types like Slowbro or Mew can also be difficult, resisting both of Reuniclus' main attacking options. Ghost-types, particularly strong attackers like Chandelure and Brambleghast both seriously threaten Reuniclus as well. Reuniclus' very low Speed stat also makes it vulnerable to being overwhelmed and revenge killed by many physical attackers like Lycanroc-D, Mienshao, and Feraligatr.

Psychic Noise is a solid STAB move that prevents opponents from healing, allowing Reuniclus to actually wear down bulky opponents like Slowbro and Quagsire. Future Sight can hit potential threats to Reuniclus after it has already switched out, combining with powerful physical wallbreakers like Choice Band Krookodile and Lycanroc-Dusk to overwhelm opponents. Focus Blast hits the Steel and Dark-types like Magnezone and Krookodile that might otherwise try to switch into Reuniclus' Psychic attacks, dealing half to Assault Vest Magnezone and nearly OHKOing Krookodile. Energy Ball hits several bulky Pokemon that might switch into Reuniclus, most notably Slowbro, which is almost always 2HKOed, but, outside of hitting Krookodile, makes your matchup against Dark and Steel-types like Incineroar and Registeel much worse. Knock Off is excellent utility to remove the items of potential switches like Incineroar or Mew. The given EV spread helps Reuniclus outspeed Quagsire and Slowbro, so it can beat them 1v1 with its Psychic Noise. The rest is poured into Special Defense to maximize bulk. Tera Dark and Tera Fairy both act to resist types normally super effective against Reuniclus, such as Ghost and Dark. Tera Steel and Tera Dragon both work to resist strong neutral attacks from common special attackers, like Boomburst from Toxtricity and Grass and Fire-type attacks from Sun sweepers like Venusaur, Scovillain, and Typhlosion.

Reuniclus benefits from teammates who can switch into dangerous Dark-types like Alolan Muk and Krookodile. Vileplume does well into both, threatening Effect Spore activations on Knock Off and not fearing poison from Alolan Muk. Offensively, Reuniclus benefits from Fighting-types like Mienshao or Gallade who can eliminate the Steel- and Dark-types that would switch into Future Sight, like Copperajah, Magnezone, Krookodile, and Brute Bonnet. Gallade also seriously threatens Slowbro with Leaf Blade, which can try to pivot through Reuniclus' attacks as well. Pivots like Thundurus that can bait in opponents like Alolan Muk or Krookodile and chip them down can also make Reuniclus' life much easier. Ghost-types like Brambleghast or Chandelure seriously threaten Reuniclus, so answers like Alolan-Muk and Incineroar support it well.

Psychic Noise gives Reuniclus the ability to beat bulky opponents like Quagsire and Slowbro, preventing them from healing off the damage Reuniclus deals to them. Psyshock allows Reuniclus to challenge boosted opponents like Calm Mind Slowbro or Sylveon. Focus Blast hits the Dark and Steel-types that might otherwise wall it, OHKOing Krookodile and 2HKOing Registeel with Tera Fighting. Magic Guard allows Reuniclus to avoid being worn down by entry hazards, helps it take advantage of Life Orb, and ignores status like poison or burn. Colbur Berry can help Reuniclus take a Knock Off from Krookodile and Incineroar and respond with a free Focus Blast. The given EV spread allows Reuniclus to outspeed and beat Unaware Quagsire while having as much Defense as possible. Tera Fighting boosts the power of Focus Blast, and grants Reuniclus important resistances to Dark-type moves and U-Turn. Tera Steel and Tera Fairy work primarily defensively, allowing Reuniclus to take powerful Dark, Ghost, or Bug attacks that might otherwise threaten or KO it.

Reuniclus benefits from the support of strong phsical attackers, such as Flygon, Krookodile, and Mienshao, who can wear down special walls like Alolan Muk and opposing Reuniclus to open the way for Reuniclus to set up. Teammates who can switch into Knock Off from Krookodile or Incineroar also work well, such as Diancie or Vileplume. The latter can threaten physical attackers that may try to wear down Reuniclus with a super-effective U-Turn, forcing them to risk activating Effect Spore. Other resists to Dark-type attackers can also be helpful, such as Fairy-types like Klefki or Sylveon. Ghost-types like Chandelure and Brambleghast can also easily knock out Reuniclus, so resists like Incineroar, Alolan Muk, or Krookodile pair well with it.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
====

Trick Room is a reasonable option on offensive sets to take advantage of Reuniclus' very low Speed. Tera Blast Fighting is occasionally used as an accurate substitute for Focus Blast, but does require Terastallization to be useful.

Checks and Counters
====

**Dark-types**: Several Dark-types in NU easily switch into Reuniclus' STAB moves and threaten back with a strong Knock Off. In particular, Alolan Muk, Incineroar, and Krookodile outspeed and deal significant damage to Reuniclus.

**Psychic-types**: Psychic types resist both Reuniclus' Psychic STAB moves and Focus Blast, making them potent defensive answers. Slowbro and Mew can set up alongside or against Reuniclus, and regularly carry coverage that hits for at least neutral damage.

**Ghost-types**: While they don't switch well into Reuniclus' attacks besides Focus Blast, common Ghost-type attackers like Chandelure, Brambleghast, and Hisuian Typhlosion outspeed and can KO Reuniclus.

**Strong Physical Attackers**: Reuniclus' low speed leaves it vulnerable to being revenge killed and overwhelmed by strong physical attackers, particularly those with U-Turn. Lycanroc-D, Feraligatr, Mienshao, and Infernape can all deal serious damage to Reuniclus, and the latter two can pivot on it.

Psyshock allows Reuniclus to deal consistent damage to Calm Mind users like Slowbro or Sylveon. Psychic Noise prevents opponents from healing, and deals significant damage to Poison-types like Vileplume and Fighting-types like Mienshao. im not convinced at psyshock’s helpfulness; psy noise is nearly always better here bc heal block helps beat bro n quag n gastro. psyshock can be mentioned in oo tho Future Sight can hit potential threats to Reuniclus after it has already switched out, weakening them while allowing Reuniclus to take further advantage of Regenerator. i’d change this sentence to focus more on how it can overwhelm opponents with breakers + fsight like cb ape, krook, n lycd (n lo shao) Focus Blast hits the Steel and Dark-types that might otherwise try to switch into Reuniclus' Psychic attacks, nearly OHKOing Krookodile and dealing half to Assault Vest Magnezone. Energy Ball hits several bulky Pokemon that might switch into Reuniclus, most notably Slowbro, which is almost always 2HKOed. add how while u still hit krook ur worse versys all other darks n u lose steels for sure now Knock Off is excellent utility to remove the items of potential switches, particularly Psychic-types like Mew. if ur tryin to say it hits psychics change it to “… switches and it hits common Psychic-type switch-ins like Mew, not letting them in for free” Max Special Defense and the Assault Vest allow Reuniclus to take attacks from several of NU's strongest special attackers, being 3HKOed by Shadow Ball from Porygon-Z, and surviving at least one attack from Growth-boosted Venusaur. Tera Steel and Tera Dragon both work to resist strong neutral attacks from common special attackers, like Boomburst from Toxtricity and Grass and Fire-type attacks from Sun sweepers. i’d list said sweepers here n name 1 or 2 Regenerator grants Reuniclus healing that allows it to switch in and out multiple times.

Reuniclus benefits from teammates who can switch into dangerous Dark-types like Alolan Muk and Krookodile. Vileplume does well into both, threatening Effect Spore activations on Knock Off and not fearing poison from Alolan Muk. While Talonflame does not like Knock Off, Flame Body can cripple Krookodile, while U-Turn allows Talonflame to easily pivot again. Offensively, Reuniclus benefits from Fighting-types like Mienshao or Gallade who can eliminate the Steel- and Dark-types that would switch into Future Sight like Copperajah, Magnezone, Krookodile, and Brute Bonnet. (this is ordered in steel | darks, n by mien beats better, gallade beats better). Gallade also serious threatens Slowbro, with its stabs it doesnt so explain with what? how? is there powerful coverage? which can try to pivot through Reuniclus' attacks as well. Pivots like Magnezone that can bait in opponents like Alolan Muk or Krookodile u calling zone a pivot n then mentioning a ground-type feels weird to me, ikik u can f cannon predict but still is weird n doesn’t make sense here and chip them down can also make Reuniclus' life much easier. mention how ur bopped by literally all ghosts n how dark types help like scrafty n frens

Calm Mind allows Reuniclus to boost its Special Attack and Special Defense, making it both more powerful and more difficult to KO. Psyshock OHKOes opponents like Mienshao, and allows Reuniclus to challenge boosted opponents like Calm Mind Slowbro. list psy noise here n say it helps beat unaware quag reliably + beats fat mons aka slowbro n then list how psyshock can be used instead vs opposing cm mons Focus Blast hits the Dark and Steel-types that might otherwise wall it, OHKOing Krookodile and 2HKOing Registeel with Tera Fighting. Recover allows Reuniclus the longevity to continue boosting while taking attacks. Magic Guard allows Reuniclus to avoid being worn down by entry hazards, helps it take advantage of Life Orb, and ignores status like poison or burn. add colbur berry bc of koff prevalence n how u can get a free fblast at times bc of it (def worth a mention imo) The given EV spread allows Reuniclus to outspeed ans beat Unaware Quagsire while having as much Defense as possible. list tera fight how it boosts fblast, n how u resist knock now + u-turn Tera Steel and Tera Fairy work primarily defensively, allowing Reuniclus to take powerful Dark, Ghost, or Bug attacks that might otherwise threaten or KO it.

[OVERVIEW]

Reuniclus can serve as both a solid special wall or a dangerous set up sweeper. Its Assault Vest set can take hits from common special attackers like Munkidori, Magnezone, and Dragalge, while its offensive set can set up with Calm Mind and blow through even checks. Its staying power is further bolstered by Regenerator, Magic Guard, and Recover id mention it cant run all of them at once. Psyshock and Focus Blast hit most of the tier for at least neutral damage, and Knock Off and Future Sight are useful utility. Psychic Noise allows Reuniclus to beat bulkier opponents that would otherwise outheal its damage. Energy Ball can also be a useful option, hitting several of the bulky Water-types in the tier, like Slowbro or Swampert. the primary target of energy ball are psychic resistant slowbro and krook Dark-types like Alolan Muk and Krookodile can be problematic, particularly when Focus Blast misses idt the focus blast line is relevant, krook is threatend by energy ball and muk doesnt car about focus blast. Psychic types like Slowbro or Mew can also be difficult, resisting both of Reuniclus' main attacking options. Ghost-types, particularly strong attackers like Chandelure and Brambleghast both seriously threaten Reuniclus as well. Reuniclus' very low Speed stat also makes it vulnerable to being overwhelmed and revenge killed by many physical attackers like Lycanroc-D, Flygon, and Feraligatr. flygon is a bit too weak to threaten reuni ngl

Psychic Noise prevents opponents from healing, allowing Reuniclus to actually wear down bulky opponents like Quagsire dont you have some more relevant pokemon than quag?, and deals significant damage to Poison-types like Vileplume and Fighting-types like Mienshao fluff, just say it is a good stab move. Future Sight can hit potential threats to Reuniclus after it has already switched out, combining with powerful physical wallbreakers like Choice Band Krookodile and Lycanroc-Dusk to overwhelm opponents. Focus Blast hits the Steel and Dark-types such as? that might otherwise try to switch into Reuniclus' Psychic attacks, nearly OHKOing Krookodile and dealing half to Assault Vest Magnezone. Energy Ball hits several bulky Pokemon that might switch into Reuniclus, most notably Slowbro, which is almost always 2HKOed, but, outside of hitting Krookodile, makes your matchup against Dark and Steel-types much worse such as?. Knock Off is excellent utility to remove the items of potential switches such as? and it hits common Psychic-type switch-ins like Mew, not letting them in for free nah it's too weak to really threaten mew. Tera Steel and Tera Dragon both work to resist strong neutral attacks from common special attackers, like Boomburst from Toxtricity and Grass and Fire-type attacks from Sun sweepers like Venusaur and Typhlosion. id mention scovillain there, it's one of the most reliable stop to scov

Reuniclus benefits from teammates who can switch into dangerous Dark-types like Alolan Muk and Krookodile. Vileplume does well into both, threatening Effect Spore activations on Knock Off and not fearing poison from Alolan Muk. While Talonflame does not like Knock Off, Flame Body can cripple Krookodile, while U-Turn allows Talonflame to easily pivot again. lets not mention talon as knock absorber, might give a really bad impression to newer players Offensively, Reuniclus benefits from Fighting-types like Mienshao or Gallade who can eliminate the Steel- and Dark-types that would switch into Future Sight, like Copperajah, Magnezone, Krookodile, and Brute Bonnet.

Psyshock OHKOes opponents like Mienshao, and allows Reuniclus to challenge boosted opponents like Calm Mind Slowbro. you dont need to say the psychic stab kills a frail fighting type, just say pnoise and pshock are two good stab options and mention their perk Focus Blast hits the Dark and Steel-types that might otherwise wall it, OHKOing Krookodile and 2HKOing Registeel with Tera Fighting. Magic Guard allows Reuniclus to avoid being worn down by entry hazards, helps it take advantage of Life Orb, and ignores status like poison or burn. Colbur Berry can help Reuniclus take a Knock Off mention something that would deal massive damage with a dark move to reuni and respond with a free Focus Blast.

====

Trick Room is a reasonable option on offensive sets to take advantage of Reuniclus' very low Speed. Tera Blast Fighting is occasionally used as an accurate substitute for Focus Blast, but does require Terastallization to be useful. Thunder can be run on Calm Mind sets to hit Slowbro harder, but then is walled by Krookodile. id completely remove thunder mention, not being able to hit krookodile is just impossible in this meta

**strong physical attackers**: especially those with uturn
