[OVERVIEW]

Sceptile is an offensive Grass-type with solid power that distinguishes itself from Whimsicott with its powerful STAB moves, strong coverage options, and great Speed. Sceptile is often a problem for offensive teams because of its Speed and great arsenal of moves, which let it easily clean a weakened team late-game. However, Sceptile is very frail, meaning it takes massive damage from any neutral hit and even resisted hits like Rhydon's Earthquake and Heliolisk's Thunderbolt. Despite its great coverage, Sceptile struggles against common Pokemon like Golbat, Vileplume, and bulkier Vikavolt sets that tank its Leaf Storm and aren't hit hard enough by its coverage moves. Unfortunately, Choice Scarf users like Passimian, Braviary, and Vanilluxe all revenge kill Sceptile. The former two can also grab momentum, since U-turn heavily damages Sceptile. Additionally, priority users like Sneasel and Mega Abomasnow hit Sceptile for a lot of damage with a super effective Ice Shard.

Moves
========

Leaf Storm is Sceptile's strongest STAB move, and with a Life Orb it hits everything that doesn't resist it for heavy damage, notably Heliolisk, Steelix, and Sneasel. Even Grass-resistant Pokemon take heavy damage; Garbodor takes about 40% from it, while Xatu loses about half of its HP. Giga Drain is Sceptile's most spammable move, as it's 100% accurate and allows Sceptile to gain back health lost from Life Orb recoil and entry hazard damage. It pairs incredibly well with Overgrow, as the damage increase also increases the recovery. Focus Blast covers Steel-types like Silvally-Steel and Klinklang and Grass-resistant Dark-types like Incineroar and Guzzlord, hitting all for super effective damage. Earthquake provides coverage against Poison- and Fire-types like Garbodor and Magmortar, notably OHKOing Delphox thanks to Life Orb, as well as hitting Steel-types, though it offers lower overall damage than Focus Blast. Hidden Power Ice hits Grass- and Flying-types such as Vileplume, Xatu, Scyther, and Golbat, having a good chance of 2HKOing Golbat after Stealth Rock.

Set Details
========

Life Orb heavily increases Sceptile's power, and the recoil can be offset by using Giga Drain. If Sceptile is put into Overgrow range, either through Life Orb recoil or other damage, it will deal massive damage with its Grass-type attacks; Leaf Storm is especially powerful, while Giga Drain benefits from both the increased power and increased healing. Choice Specs increases Sceptile's power notably, making it harder to switch into its STAB Leaf Storms. However, this leaves Sceptile more vulnerable, as it's forced to switch out if it's locked into a resisted move. A Timid nature and 252 Speed EVs make Sceptile as fast as possible, outspeeding Whimsicott and Sneasel, while 252 Special Attack EVs make its moves hit harder.

Usage Tips
========

Spamming Leaf Storm if the opponent only has shaky switch-ins to it, like Whimsicott and Incineroar, is a good way to pressure the enemy team early-game. Leaf Storm is Sceptile's strongest STAB attack, but its Special Attack drop and the risk of hard counters such as Golbat and Vileplume switching into it mean Sceptile gets easily forced out, so coverage should be used when predicting common switch-ins. The Special Attack drop also invites in setup sweepers like Comfey and Incineroar. Use Sceptile's ability to outspeed almost everything in NU to its advantage by pressuring frail offensive Pokemon like Heliolisk and Choice-locked Sneasel. Sceptile gets worn down very quickly by repeatedly switching into Spikes and Stealth Rock, so it's best to remove these before sending Sceptile out. Don't hesitate to use Giga Drain when Overgrow is activated, as it actually hits quite hard, which allows Sceptile to gain health back so it can continue to punch holes. Earthquake can catch Fire-types like Incineroar and Delphox off guard after using Leaf Storm. Because Choice Specs Sceptile can be very prediction reliant to function as well as it can, think twice before using Leaf Storm if your opponent has Golbat or Vileplume. Try to preserve Sceptile for late-game, as it can easily clean if the opponent's team is weakened.

Team Options
========

Entry hazard setters such as Rhydon, Steelix, and Diancie pair very well with Sceptile. They can wear down many of Sceptile's answers such as Golbat and Silvally-Steel so that Sceptile can handle them more easily over time, and they also capitalize on the switches that Sceptile forces. U-turn and Volt Switch users like Passimian, Xatu, and Rotom can bring Sceptile in safely so it can punch holes without taking a hit first. The latter two can also act as hazard removers, increasing Sceptile's longevity. Rock-types such as Diancie and Rhydon pair well with Sceptile because they can set Stealth Rock and check Fire-types like Incineroar, Delphox, and Magmortar as well as Flying-types. at the same time. In return, they appreciate Sceptile dealing with Ground- and Water-types. Together with Sceptile, Vanilluxe and Sneasel can put a lot of pressure on Fire-types as well as check Golbat and Vileplume. Fire-types of your own such as Delphox and Incineroar can gain free turns off of the Steel- and Grass-types that Sceptile brings in, such as Silvally-Steel and Vileplume. Pokemon like Druddigon and Slowbro that take advantage of pivoting Choice Scarf users are also good partners for Sceptile, as they prevent it from being revenge killed as easily.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]

Other Options
=============

Sceptile can run a Swords Dance set with Leaf Blade, Acrobatics, and Substitute or Earthquake, holding a Sitrus Berry and using the ability Unburden. 252 Speed and Attack EVs maximize Sceptile's offensive presence, while an Adamant nature gives Sceptile as much power as possible. On such a set, Grassy Seed with a Grassy Terrain setter is another valid strategy to simultaneously boost Leaf Blade, activate Unburden, and allow Sceptile to set up on Steelix thanks to the Defense boost. It runs Drain Punch as its second coverage option to provide some form of recovery and obtain super effective coverage against Guzzlord and Steelix. Rockium Z is a third alternative on its Swords Dance set. This variant runs Swords Dance, Leaf Blade, Earthquake, and Rock Slide; after a boost, Continental Crush OHKOes physically defensive Golbat after Stealth Rock damage. A set of Work Up, Giga Drain, Hidden Power Ice and Focus Blast can be used to take advantage of the switches Sceptile forces to boost its Special Attack and threaten to sweep, but often misses the power offered by Leaf Storm.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Poison-types**: Golbat and Vileplume's combination of recovery, bulk, and typing make them excellent Sceptile checks, taking very little from Leaf Storm and dealing heavy damage with Brave Bird and Sludge Bomb. Golbat easily tanks Leaf Storm and uses the free turn Sceptile gives it to clear entry hazards with Defog. Garbodor can tank a Leaf Storm and threaten Sceptile out with Gunk Shot or go for Spikes. However, the former two must be wary of a Choice Specs-boosted Hidden Power Ice, while the latter is easily worn down due to its lack of reliable recovery.

**Faster Pokemon**: Choice Scarf users like Passimian, Braviary, and Delphox can easily OHKO Sceptile before it can attack. Aerodactyl and Accelgor are naturally faster and can OHKO Sceptile with their STAB moves. Priority users like Sneasel, Mega Abomasnow and Comfey can force Sceptile out as well.

**Entry Hazards**: Sceptile is worn down very quickly between Life Orb recoil and entry hazard damage, putting it into the range of neutral attacks and priority moves that it would otherwise be able to take like Choice Band Sneasel's Ice Shard.

**Fire-types**: Fire-types like Magmortar and Incineroar can be problematic if Sceptile is at -2 from using Leaf Storm, because Life Orb-boosted Earthquake doesn't OHKO either and Focus Blast can't OHKO Incineroar with the Special Attack drop. Delphox also can take any hit from a Sceptile lacking Earthquake and threaten to OHKO it with Flamethrower or Fire Blast.

[OVERVIEW]

  • Sceptile is an offensive Grass-type with solid power, powerful STAB moves, and strong coverage options to compliment its great Speed.
  • Its very high Speed stat sets it apart from other offensive Grass-types, as it can outspeed key targets like Heliolisk and Sneasel and hit them with its very strong STAB Leaf Storm. Whimsicott also does this though, although hitting them with different, weaker moves. Maybe reword this to put more emphasis on Sceptile's damage advantage.
  • It also can viably run two different sets thanks to Unburden, which makes a Swords Dance set viable. At +2 and with an Unburden boost, Sceptile can easily sweep through weakened teams, and it also gains Flying-type coverage. Nitpicky but it doesn't "gain" Flying-type coverage because it has Unburden. It always has access to it.
  • However, Sceptile is very frail, meaning it takes massive damage from any neutral hit and even resisted hits. Examples?
  • It struggles against common Pokemon like Golbat, Vileplume, and Sivally-Steel, which tank Sceptile's Leaf Storm. I'd find different examples; Golbat struggles to keep up with Choice Specs Hidden Power Ice; Vileplume has same issues as Golbat; Silvally-Steel takes a million from Focus Blast or even Earthquake.
  • Maybe talk about up here too how it's the second fastest unboosted Pokemon in the tier just to further put its amazing Speed into perspective.

  • Leaf Storm is Sceptile's strongest STAB move, and with a Life Orb it hits everything that doesn't resist it for heavy damage. Any notable damage rolls that matter?
  • Giga Drain allows Sceptile to gain back health lost from Life Orb recoil and hazard damage.
  • Focus Blast covers Steel-types like Sivally-Steel, Klinklang, and Dark-types that resist its Grass-type moves like Incineroar and Guzzlord, hitting all for supereffective damage thanks to Focus Blast's high Base Power.
  • Earthquake provides coverage against Poison- and Fire-types like Garbodor, Magmortar, and Delphox.
  • Hidden Power Ice is an alternative option that hits Vileplume and other Grass-types for more damage than any other move, and also hits Xatu, Scyther, Golbat, having a good chance of 2HKOing the latter after Stealth Rock. I would make the slash between Focus Blast and Earthquake, as without Hidden Power Ice you are walled by significantly more compared to being without one of Focus Blast and Earthquake.

Set Details
========

  • Life Orb boosts Sceptile's power by 1.3x, but makes it take damage every time it uses a move.
  • Choice Specs increases Sceptile's power notably, making it harder to switch into its STAB Leaf Storms. Make note here of it locking you into whatever move you use since that is a significant drawback of using Spex.
  • Overgrow is the optimal ability because it can give Sceptile a clutch 50% boost to its Grass-type moves.
  • 252 Speed EVs make Sceptile as fast as possible, while 252 Special Attack EVs make its moves hit harder.
  • A Timid nature makes Sceptile as fast as possible, outspeeding Whimsicott and Sneasel.

Usage Tips
========

  • Spamming Leaf Storm if the opponent only has shaky switch-ins to it, like Whimsicott or weakened Incineroar, is a good way to pressure the enemy team in the early game. Talking about a weakened Incineroar in the early-game seems a bit weird to me.
  • Leaf Storm is very strong but it does drop Sceptile's Special Attack by 2 stages. This can be detrimental against hard counters to Sceptile like Golbat and Vileplume, which can easily take it and proceed to gain a free turn off of Sceptile to use a status move. Because of this, Sceptile's coverage moves are best used when you predict a switch.
  • Sceptile's very high Speed tier allows it to outspeed almost everything in NU. Use this to Sceptile's advantage by pressuring frail offensive Pokemon like Heliolisk and Choice-locked Sneasel.
  • Sceptile gets worn down very fast by repeated switch-ins to Spikes and Stealth Rock, so it's best to remove these before sending Sceptile out, unless you have to send it out.
  • When Overgrow is activated, Sceptile's Giga Drain actually hits quite hard, which allows it to gain health back so it can continue to punch holes. Therefore, try to just recover health when Overgrow is activated.
  • If you do end up keeping LO and Spex in the same set analysis make sure to differentiate between their playstyles; Life Orb can more freely fire off attacks while Spex must predict more to properly blow past switch-ins like Golbat, Steelvally, etc.

Team Options
========

  • Entry hazard setters pair very well with Sceptile because they can wear down Pokemon like Venusaur and Sivally-Steel so that Sceptile can handle them easier over time. They also work well because Sceptile forces lots of switches. Venusaur lol.
  • U-turn and Volt Switch users like Whimsicott and Rotom can bring Sceptile in safely so it can punch holes without taking a hit first. Name Passimian > Whimsicott. I can't see a time I'd use both Whimsi and Sceptile.
  • Rock-type such as Diancie, and Rhydon pair well with Sceptile because they can set Stealth Rock and check Fire-types at the same time. List some Fire-types.
  • Fire types such as Delphox and Incineroar can gain free turns off of the Steel- and Grass-types that Sceptile brings in, such as Silvally-Steel and Vileplume. also Ice-types like Sneasel and Vanilluxe give free turns to Incineroar and Delphox (less so Sneasel though).
  • Vanilluxe and Sneasel can, together with Sceptile, put a lot of pressure on Fire-types like Incineroar and Delphox, and they can also check Golbat and Vileplume.

Moves
========

  • Swords Dance boosts Sceptile's Attack by 2 stages, preparing it for a sweep.
  • Leaf Blade is the go-to Grass-type STAB move, packing decent power and a good critical hit chance.
  • Acrobatics recieves a boost after Sitrus Berry has been consumed, and it's also good coverage against Grass-types.
  • Earthquake rounds off the coverage by hitting Poison-types super effectively.
  • Substitute is also an option because it guarantees Unburden activation, and Sceptile gets many chances to Substitute.
  • Rock Slide is another option because it hits Golbat for decent damage at +2 while still providing coverage against Fire-types.
  • note though how the last two options mean you risk being hard-walled by Steel-types (sub and rock slide)

Set Details
========

  • Sitrus Berry gives Sceptile health back when it's weakened and also activates Unburden the most reliably out of any item, making it the best choice. should probably note what HP percentage you need to hit to activate Sitrus Berry's healing
  • 252 Speed and Attack EVs maximize Sceptile's offensive presence, while an Adamant nature gives Sceptile as much power as possible. Sceptile can also afford to run Adamant on this set because of Unburden.
  • Unburden is the ability of choice for this set because it doubles Sceptile's Speed after Sitrus Berry is used.

Usage Tips
========

  • It's best to only use Sceptile's Unburden boost when you are either forced to, or when you're ready to sweep in the late-game. Popping Unburden early game can result in Sceptile not being able to OHKO what's in front of it and getting OHKOed instead. not popping Unburden doesn't really mean you fail to OHKO something though unless you're trying to say Sceptile risks being outsped? I'd reword this for clarity.
  • Make sure that Sceptile doesn't get inflicted with any status before it sweeps. Therefore, try to avoid switching into Scald from Slowbro and Slowking, and try not to get hit by Toxic Spikes.
  • You can guarantee setup by taking advantage of Pokemon that Sceptile forces out, like Slowbro, Rhydon, and Diancie, by setting up Substitute, then Swords Dance, then using Substitute again to activate Unburden. This will put Sceptile at +2 Attack and Speed, which can allow it to sweep in the late game.
  • The SD set has trouble setting up due to Sceptiles bad bulk so make sure checks and counters are dealt with before setting up. list come C&C to want to remove from battle before setting up
  • Sceptile can still pressure offensive threats with this set, as Leaf Blade still has respectable power without a Life Orb boost.

Team Options
========

  • Entry hazard setters are the best teammates Sceptile can have, as they can chip down enemy Pokemon into +2 Leaf Blade range. Rhydon and Gigalith both provide Stealth Rock, while Garbodor can offer Spikes and Toxic Spikes. Gigalith lol.
  • U-turn and Volt Switch users like Incineroar and Vikavolt are good at chipping down defensive Pokemon so that Sceptile can clean easier in the late-game. Incineroar also checks Grass-types like Venusaur. Venusaur again lol. Also there are better options than Vikavolt to list for Volt Switch users imo.
  • Pokemon that can wear down Golbat, like Passimian, Hariyama, and Aromatisse, can deal enough damage to Golbat so that Sceptile can sweep in the late-game without worrying about a Brave Bird OHKO through Substitute.
  • Fast Ice-types like Choice Scarf Vanilluxe and Sneasel can take advantage of Sceptile's damage dealt if it fails to sweep by sweeping themselves in the late-game.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

  • Grassy Seed Sceptile + a Grassy Terrain setter is a valid strategy as Grassy Terrain boosts Leaf Blade, activates the Grassy Seed, activating Unburden. +1 Def Sceptile can take hits from Steelix and set up on it. It runs Drain Punch as its 2nd coverage option to provide some form of recovery and supereffective coverage against Guzzlord and Steelix.
  • A special Unburden set can also work, but Sceptile doesn't need to be that fast for it to do its job with a special set. Additionally, you would be lacking power because you don't have Life Orb or Choice Specs.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Poison-types**: Golbat and Vileplume's typings make them the perfect Sceptile counter, taking very little from Leaf Storm and dealing heavy damage with Brave Bird and Sludge Bomb respectively in return. Golbat easily tanks Leaf Storm and uses the free turn Sceptile gives it to clear hazards with Defog.

**Faster Pokemon**: Choice Scarf users like Braviary and Passimian can easily OHKO Sceptile before it can attack, but Passimian only can with prior damage. 252 Atk Passimian Close Combat vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Sceptile: 262-310 (93.2 - 110.3%) -- 62.5% chance to OHKO find a different example or remove the second part about needing chip.

**Priority**: Ice Shard from Sneasel and Fake Out + Bullet Punch from Medicham can KO Sceptile before it can retaliate, with little prior damage. I'd put Priority users alongside the Faster Pokemon section, but that's just me. I also feel Fake Out Medicham is an unset and deserves no recognition.

**Entry Hazards**: Sceptile is worn down very quickly between Life Orb recoil and hazard damage, putting it into the range of neutral attacks and priority moves that it would otherwise live, like Choice Band Sneasel's Ice Shard.

**Fire-types**: Fire-types like Magmortar and Incineroar can be problematic if Sceptile is at -2, because Earthquake doesn't OHKO either from the Life Orb set and Focus Blast can't OHKO Incineroar when Sceptile is at -2 from Leaf Storm.

Overview:
- remove mentions of it outspeeding Sneasel and Heliolisk, because Whimsicott does so too and there are no relevant Grass-types that barely underspeed these two.

Moves:
- expand on the Giga Drain line; it's always a safe move to go for because of the 100% accuracy etc.*
Set Details:
- explain further why people should run Life Orb / Specs instead of explaining what the items do. People can search that up elsewhere. Talk about how Giga Drain works well in tandem with Life Orb because of the 10% damage etc etc

Set Details:
- explain why the player should use Life Orb / Choice Specs, not what the items do. People can find that somewhere else.
- "However, this leaves Sceptile more vulnerable." vulnerable to what? elaborate on this
- explain why Unburden isn't very useful on this set, since it may look appealing at first sight for new users.
- make a separate bullet point on pressuring hard-counters with entry hazard damage by making aggressive double-switches and/or predictions

Usage Tips:
- the second bullet point is quite vague. try explaining the same in a more compact and shorter sentence.
- i disagree with your last point; Giga Drain isn't on the set purely to regain HP when Sceptile is in Overgrow. Please rephrase so it doesn't look like that's the only use for Giga Drain on the set.

(i'm not going to check the SD set assuming it's going to be OO)

Checks and Counters:
- mention how Choice Specs Hidden Power Ice can still chunk both Golbat and Vileplume

QC 1/3 after this!

  • Earthquake provides coverage against Poison- and Fire-types like Garbodor, Magmortar, and Delphox. can't miss either, but is weaker due to no investment and a lower BP
  • Hidden Power Ice is an alternative option that hits Vileplume and other Grass-types for more damage than any other move, and also hits Xatu, Scyther, Golbat, having a good chance of 2HKOing the latter after Stealth Rock. Hidden Power Ice is listed as a primary slash, so it is not an alternative option

  • Life Orb boosts Sceptile's power by 1.3x, but makes it take damage every time it uses a move. On the other hand, it works great in tandem with Giga Drain since you can recover the recoil. could also mention how it pushes Sceptile closer to Overgrow range, letting it either nuke the shit out of something with Leaf Storm, or dent something harder than usual with Giga Drain and thus recover even more HP
  • Choice Specs increases Sceptile's power notably, making it harder to switch into its STAB Leaf Storms. Choice Specs makes Leaf Storm a very powerful tool and accentuates Sceptile's breaking capabilities. However, this leaves Sceptile more vulnerable as it's forced to switch out if it's locked into a resisted move.
  • Overgrow is the optimal ability because it can give Sceptile a clutch 50% boost to its Grass-type moves. Sceptile doesn't need Unburden because of its great Speed stat. Unburden also does nothing for this set since you can't consume LO or Choice Specs; I'd just remove its mention entirely
  • 252 Speed EVs make Sceptile as fast as possible, while 252 Special Attack EVs make its moves hit harder.
  • A Timid nature makes Sceptile as fast as possible, outspeeding Whimsicott and Sneasel. just mention its nature alongside the Speed EVs

  • Sceptile is an offensive Grass-type with solid power that distinguishes itself from Whimsicott with its powerful STAB moves, strong coverage options, and its great Speed.
  • Sceptile often forms a problem for offensive teams cause of its Speed and great arsenal of moves.
  • However, Sceptile is very frail, meaning it takes massive damage from any neutral hit and even resisted hits like Rhydon's Earthquake or Heliolisk's Thunderbolt. ya this is the message that I wanted conveyed regarding Sceptile's bulk
  • Priority users like Sneasel and Piloswine hit Sceptile supereffectively with Ice Shard for a lot of damage. this bit can honestly be thrown in with the part about Sceptile getting revenge killed. you aren't gonna try to 1v1 Sceptile with either of these Pokemon under very many circumstances
  • It struggles against common Pokemon like Golbat, Vileplume, and bulkier Vikavolt sets, which tank Sceptile's Leaf Storm. they essentially can tank anything from Sceptile tbh. Golbat can struggle with HP Ice if it loses Eviolite/Stealth Rock are up though, so I'd list it last given it's the least effective of the checks you listed
  • Unfortunately, Choice Scarf users like Passimian, Braviary, and Vanilluxe all revengekill Sceptile. The former two can grab momentum since U-Turn does a lot of damage.

Moves
========

  • Leaf Storm is Sceptile's strongest STAB move, and with a Life Orb it hits everything that doesn't resist it for heavy damage. Garbodor takes about 40% from it while Xatu loses about half of its HP. I personally would list some Pokemon that don't resist Leaf Storm, since you previously said it "hits everything that doesn't resist it for heavy damage"
  • Giga Drain is Sceptile's most spammable move as it's 100% accurate and it allows Sceptile to gain back health lost from Life Orb recoil and hazard damage. It functions incredibly with Overgrow, as the damage increase also means you heal back more.
  • Focus Blast covers Steel-types like Sivally-Steel, Klinklang, and Dark-types that resist its Grass-type moves like Incineroar and Guzzlord, hitting all for supereffective damage.
  • Earthquake provides coverage against Poison- and Fire-types like Garbodor, Magmortar, and Delphox. make some note about it retaining coverage against Steel-types too, but having the drawback of being significantly weaker due to lack of Attack investment and lower BP
  • Hidden Power Ice hits Vileplume and other Grass-types for more damage than any other move, and also hits Xatu, Scyther, Golbat, having a good chance of 2HKOing the latter after Stealth Rock.

Set Details
========

  • Life Orb boosts Sceptile's power by 1.3x, but makes it take damage every time it uses a move. On the other hand, it works great in tandem with Giga Drain since you can recover the recoil. It pushes Sceptile closer to Overgrow range, letting it either deal massive damage with Leaf Storm, or dent something harder than usual with Giga Drain and thus recover even more HP. this feels oddly prioritized in terms of the listing of content. I would find a way to connect this last sentence with the last thought of the first sentence, since they both address Life Orb's recoil.
  • Overgrow is the optimal ability because it can give Sceptile a clutch 50% boost to its Grass-type moves. anything notable an Overgrow-boosted Leaf Storm can nuke?
  • A Timid nature and 252 Speed EVs make Sceptile as fast as possible, outspeeding Whimsicott and Sneasel, while 252 Special Attack EVs make its moves hit harder.

Usage Tips
========

  • Spamming Leaf Storm if the opponent only has shaky switch-ins to it like Whimsicott or Incineroar is a good way to pressure the enemy team in the early game.
  • Leaf Storm is Sceptile's strongest STAB, but dropping both it's Special Attack by two stages and letting in hard counters, such as Golbat and Vileplume, means it gets easily forced out, so coverage should be used when predicting common switch-ins. This also invites in setup sweepers like Comfey and Incineroar. what is "this"? the Special Attack drop?
So don't hesitate clicking it when you're in Overgrow range.
  • there should be something about Choice Specs Sceptile in here, probably about how it is very prediction reliant to function as best it can. guess Earthquake should get a usage tip too.

Team Options
========

  • Entry hazard setters pair very well with Sceptile because they can wear down Pokemon like Golbat and Sivally-Steel so that Sceptile can handle them easier over time. They also work well because Sceptile forces lots of switches.
  • U-turn and Volt Switch users like Passimian and Rotom can bring Sceptile in safely so it can punch holes without taking a hit first.
  • Rock-type such as Diancie, and Rhydon pair well with Sceptile because they can set Stealth Rock and check Fire-types like Incineroar and Magmortar at the same time. They check Flying-types too and appreciate Sceptile dealing with Ground- and Water-types.
  • Fire types such as Delphox and Incineroar can gain free turns off of the Steel- and Grass-types that Sceptile brings in, such as Silvally-Steel and Vileplume.
  • Vanilluxe and Sneasel can, together with Sceptile, put a lot of pressure on Fire-types like Incineroar and Delphox, and they can also check Golbat and Vileplume.
  • hazard removal should be listed here, especially considering you briefly mention it in usage tips
  • mons like druddigon and slowbro help against fast scarfers like passimian so that Sceptile isn't revenge killed as easily

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

  • Sceptile can run an SD set with Leaf Blade, Acrobatics and Substitute / Earthquake. It holds a Sitrus Berry and uses the ability Unburden. 252 Speed and Attack EVs maximize Sceptile's offensive presence, while an Adamant nature gives Sceptile as much power as possible.
Additionally, you would be lacking power because you don't have Life Orb or Choice Specs. this set sounds like hot ass. remove imo

Checks and Counters
===================

However, they must be wary of a Choice Specs boosted Hidden Power Ice. garbodor definitely deserves a mention here

**Faster Pokemon**: Choice Scarf users like Pasimmian, Braviary, and Delphox can easily OHKO Sceptile before it can attack. Aerodactyl and Accelgor are naturally faster than it and can OHKO Sceptile with their STAB-moves. priority users can be listed here too

**Entry Hazards**: Sceptile is worn down very quickly between Life Orb recoil and hazard damage, putting it into the range of neutral attacks and priority moves that it would otherwise live, like Choice Band Sneasel's Ice Shard.

**Fire-types**: Fire-types like Magmortar and Incineroar can be problematic if Sceptile is at -2, because Earthquake doesn't OHKO either from the Life Orb set and Focus Blast can't OHKO Incineroar when Sceptile is at -2 from Leaf Storm.
guess this is 2/3 now lol

Leaf Storm is Sceptile's strongest STAB move, and with a Life Orb it hits everything that doesn't resist it for heavy damage, notably hitting XYZ (include some example of a neutral hit, idk, Heliolisk here). Even Grass resists such as Garbodor takes about 40% from it while Xatu loses about half of its HP. Earthquake provides coverage against Poison- and Fire-types like Garbodor and Magmortar, notably OHKOing Delphox thanks to Life Orb, as well as hitting Steel types, however offers lower overall damage than Focus Blast. Sceptile retains coverage against Steel-types too, but has the drawback of being significantly weaker due to lack of Attack investment and lower BP. Hidden Power Ice hits Vileplume and other Grass-types for more damage than any other move, and also hits Xatu, Scyther, Golbat, having a good chance of 2HKOing the latter after Stealth Rock. Hidden Power Ice hits Grass- and Flying- types such as Vileplume, Xatu, Scyther, and Golbat, having a good chance of 2HKOing Golbat after Stealth Rock. (Rephrased a bit for clarity)

Life Orb boosts Sceptile's power by 1.3x, giving it heavily increased power, at the cost of 10% HP every time it uses a move, which can be offset by using Giga Drain. If Sceptile is put into Overgrow range, either through Life Orb recoil or other damage, it will deal massive damage with its Grass Attacks, especially Leaf Storm, while Giga Drain benefits from both the increased power and increased healing provided by Overgrow. Choice Specs increases Sceptile's power notably, making it harder to switch into its STAB Leaf Storms. Choice Specs makes Leaf Storm a very powerful tool and accentuates Sceptile's breaking capabilities. However, this leaves Sceptile more vulnerable as it's forced to switch out if it's locked into a resisted move. When Overgrow is activated, Sceptile's Giga Drain actually hits quite hard, which allows it to gain health back so it can continue to punch holes. So don't hesitate clicking it when you're in Overgrow range. Earthquake can catch Fire-types like Incineroar and Delphox off guard after using Leaf Storm, use this to your advantage. Life Orb boosted Earthquake OHKOes Delphox after Leaf Storm damage. This is more suited to the moves section. Choice Specs Sceptile can be very prediction reliant to function as best it can. Think twice before clicking Leaf Storm if your opponent has Golbat or Vileplume. I'd like some mention about preserving Sceptile for the late game, as it can very easily clean if the opponent's team is weakened.

Team Options
========

Entry hazard setters such as Rhydon and etc. pair very well with Sceptile because they can wear down Pokemon many of Sceptile's answers such as like Golbat and Sivally-Steel so that Sceptile can handle them easier over time, while also capitalizing on the switches that Sceptile forces. They also work well because Sceptile forces lots of switches. U-turn and Volt Switch users like Passimian, Xatu, and Rotom can bring Sceptile in safely so it can punch holes without taking a hit first. The latter two can act as hazard removers, increasing Sceptile's longevity. Rock-type such as Diancie, and Rhydon pair well with Sceptile because they can set Stealth Rock and check Fire-types like Incineroar and Magmortar at the same time. They check Flying-types too and appreciate Sceptile dealing with Ground- and Water-types. Fire types such as Delphox and Incineroar can gain free turns off of the Steel- and Grass-types that Sceptile brings in, such as Silvally-Steel and Vileplume. Vanilluxe and Sneasel can, together with Sceptile, put a lot of pressure on Fire-types like Incineroar and Delphox, and they can also check Golbat and Vileplume. Pokemon that take advantage of pivoting Choice Scarfers like Druddigon and Slowbro are also good partners for Sceptile as they make so Sceptile isn't revenge killed as easily.

Usage Tips
========

Sceptile gets worn down very fast quickly by repeated switch-ins to repeatedly switching into Spikes and Stealth Rock, so it's best to remove these before sending Sceptile out. Don't hesitate to click use (click=bad) Giga Drain when Overgrow is activated, as it actually hits quite hard, which allows Sceptile to gain health back so it can continue to punch holes. Earthquake can catch Fire-types like Incineroar and Delphox off guard after using Leaf Storm. Because Choice Specs Sceptile can be very prediction reliant to function as well as it can, think twice before clicking using Leaf Storm if your opponent has Golbat or Vileplume. Try to preserve Sceptile for late-game, as it can easily clean (?) if the opponent's team is weakened.

Team Options
========

Entry hazard setters such as Rhydon, Steelix, and Diancie pair very well with Sceptile because they. (AP) They can wear down many of Sceptile's answers such as Golbat and Silvally-Steel so that Sceptile can handle them easier more easily over time while also capitalizing, (AC) and they also capitalize on the switches that Sceptile forces. (RP) at the same time. Pokemon like Druddigon and Slowbro that take advantage of pivoting Choice Scarf users like Druddigon and Slowbro are also good partners for Sceptile, as they prevent it from being revenge killed as easily.

Other Options
=============

A set of Work Up, Giga Drain, Hidden Power Ice and Focus Blast can be used to take advantage of the switches Sceptile forces to boost its Special Attack, (RC) and threaten to sweep, but often misses the power offered by Leaf Storm.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Poison-types**: Golbat and Vileplume's typings make them the perfect Sceptile counter combination of recovery, bulk, and typing make them excellent Sceptile checks, taking very little from Leaf Storm and dealing heavy damage with Brave Bird and Sludge Bomb.

Priority users like Sneasel and Comfey can force Sceptile out as well.

Delphox also can take any hit from a Sceptile lacking Earthquake and threaten to OHKO it back with Flamethrower or Fire Blast.
