The Orre Colosseum community is hosting a one day-tournament in the format of the US's 2006 tournament series Journey Across America (JAA).
On top of diving into a metagame that has laid dormant for almost 2 decades and was played before most of us knew much about competitive pokemon, you have the chance to win an exclusive (US) Emerald cartridge with free shipping!
In JAA, you can have a full team of restricted legendaries! Mythicals and Soul Dew however are banned. OC11 will not 100% copy how JAA was played in 2006, but simply use its banlist and adapt it to Orre Cup rules (OTS, Bo3/5 Swiss + Top Cut), therefore the tournament will look like this:
1. 5 or 6 Swiss Rounds; Matches played in Best of 3s (Win 2/3 battles to win the match)
2. Top 8 Cut; Matches played in Best of 5s (Win 3/5 battles to win the match)
You have to use one single team for the whole tournament. You'll be submitting your teamsheet before the tournament during signup.

(Note that this post is about our standard format, a different format from JAA, in which restricted legendaries are banned. This does not mean they are banned in this tour, Mewtwo, Ho-Oh, Lugia, Groudon, Kyogre, Rayquaza are all ALLOWED in JAA.)
Here are the RULES for Orre Cup 11:
- You use the same team for each battle.
- Open Teamsheets (a.k.a. OTS: You know your opponent's movesets (incl. Hidden Power types), abilities and items. Only the EVs, IVs and natures stay hidden.)
- Bring 6, Pick 4 Double battles with Team Preview
- Item Clause (no duplicate items)
- Level 100 (or lower)
- Sleep Clause (Includes self-inflicted sleep from Rest)
- Freeze Clause
- Exact HP mod (Every mon's exact HP value is visible i.e. you can know your opponent's HP EVs. This is how XD PvP battles work.)
- Self-Destruct Clause (If a battle ends with no pokemon left on either side because of the effect of Self-Destruct, Explosion, Perish Song or Destiny Bond, the user of that move loses. This does NOT apply to Recoil Moves (Double-Edge), the user of that move would win.)
- Genders have to be locked in (Cute Charm Clefable is a thing; in Gen 3 Fake Out doesn't make contact, but Overheat and Ancient Power do)
- Battle Timer (mandatory to ensure that the tournament doesn't take too long):
Team Preview: 90 seconds
Move time: 60 seconds
Player time (Your Time): 7 minutes
Game time: 15 minutes
- After each match, the winner has to post the replays in our Discord.

If a team violates any rules/bans, the player can get a game loss. A second violation or failure to check-in in time will result in disqualification.
