[SET COMMENTS]
Vessel of Ruin further compounds Ting-Lu's raw bulk, allowing it to serve as an incredibly effective mixed wall - among the list of threats it can switch into and answer include the likes of Latios, Aegislash, and Iron Moth. Ruination allows Ting-Lu to chip the vast majority of defensive Pokemon for neutral damage, such as Tapu Fini, Celesteela and Mega Sableye. Access to both Stealth Rock and Spikes makes Ting-Lu a flexible entry hazard setter, giving it the option to support its teammates through residual damage on the aforementioned switches. Alternatively, Rest can be slotted in over Ruination or either one of these options on more defensive teams, cementing Ting-Lu's longevity by giving it a form of recovery against targets relying passive damage to break it, like SubToxic Aegislash and Utility Excadrill. Whirlwind gives Ting-Lu an additional way to chip incoming defensive walls, while preventing it from becoming too passive against longevity-oriented wincons such as Mega Latias, working exceptionally well in conjunction with hazard support from the likes of Skarmory. While full HP and Special Defense investment is preferred to maximize Ting-Lu’s ability to take hits from wallbreakers such as Choice Specs Latios and Hisuian Zoroark, a spread of 108 HP / 148 Def / 252 SpD can be used to avoid the 2HKO from +1 Mega Tyranitar's Ice Punch, letting it retaliate with Earthquake. On more aggressive teams, offensive pivots such as Cinderace and Choice Band Scizor appreciate Ting-Lu's ability to lay entry hazards, helping them wear down checks such as Slowbro and Iron Hands in the long-run, whilst also keeping other offensive threats such as Enamorus in check. Defensive walls such as Buzzwole, Skeledirge, and Clefable are appreciated to cover Ting-Lu's susceptibility to Fighting-types such as Galarian Zapdos and Mega Gallade; Clefable in particular can also utilize Wish and Aromatherapy to supplement Ting-Lu's longevity in return. Due to Ting-Lu's own susceptibility to passive damage, Pokemon that can absorb these types of effects like Iron Moth, Amoonguss, and Pivot Galarian Slowking help in this regard; the latter two provide additional cover against Water-types such as Tapu Fini.
