[OVERVIEW]
While Vileplume has a unique move in Strength Sap and access to Effect Spore to allow it to barely check common physical attackers like Zygarde-10%, Virizion, and Golisopod, it is largely outclassed as a defensive Grass-type by Tangela, which has much higher bulk thanks to Eviolite and access to better defensive ability in Regenerator and moves like Knock Off and Leech Seed.

[SET]
name: Strength Sap
move 1: Giga Drain
move 2: Sludge Bomb
move 3: Strength Sap
move 4: Sleep Powder
item: Poisonium Z / Black Sludge
ability: Effect Spore
nature: Bold
evs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD

[SET COMMENTS]
Vileplume's best set allows it barely check common physical attackers like Virizion and Golisopod with Poisonium Z. Vileplume can put them to sleep with Sleep Powder, then lower their offenses while keeping itself healthy with Strength Sap and Giga Drain. While it has a slightly better offensive presence, Vileplume is still largely outclassed by Tangela, which has a superior defensive presence. Unlike Tangela, Vileplume is very vulnerable to Metagross, since Metagross is immune to Strength Sap thanks to Clear Body and can heavily damage Vileplume.

it doesn’t really check anything well with an sdef spread except mega sceptile, shaymin can get a timely seed flare drop and blastoise has a chance to 2hko with ib. i can’t think of anything else you’d use an sdef spread for? make it physically bulky so that it lets it beat viri, golis, donphan, and zygarde.. somewhat. cb outrage 2hkos but it switches into everything else just fine.

this can beat golis/grounds/viri in one slot, which would be its niche, albeit it barely avoids kos so it tends to be shaky against just about all of them. i’d mention if you were to consider using this on a team, beating those unique group of mons in one slot is why. also, it and roserade do completely different things. this thing is more comparable to say, tangela since both function as bulky grass walls that have some overlap in what they check.

Hey, just a friendly A.M. check. This is mostly helping with the grammar.

[OVERVIEW]
While Vileplume has a unique move in Strength Sap that lets it tank attacks very well, Vileplume is outclassed as a Grass and Poison type by Roserade. Roserade has more offensive power and much better utility with Spikes. Vileplume is also outclassed as a special wall by Florges who performs the role much better, walls Mega Blastoise reliably. Strength Sap is Vileplumes one good upside and access to Effect Spore, scaring physical attackers from giving contact.

This is worded and arranged really clunkily. Also, I'm not sure why Vileplume is comparable to Florges? You should be focusing on Tangela. Try like this:

"While Vileplume has a unique move in Stength Sap and access to Effect Spore to allow it to check common physical attackers like Zygarde-10%, Virizion, and Golisopod, it is largely outclassed as a defensive Grass-type by Tangela, which has much higher bulk thanks to Eviolite and access to better defensive ability in Regenerator and moves like Knock Off and Leech Seed."

[SET]
name: Defensive
move 1: Giga Drain
move 2: Sludge Bomb
move 3: Strength Sap
move 4: Sleep Powder
item: Black Sludge
ability: Effect Spore
nature: Bold
evs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 6 SpD
These are phanotom's suggestions, but this gives Vileplume a stronger niche.

[SET COMMENTS]
What this set does is being able to wall Fighting types, put stuff to sleep and tank certain hits. However this role is done much better with Florges, as Florges has more than just that one role, walls alot of special attackers, and has much better utility. If mentioning Grass types, the main Grass type wall, the main talk is Tangela, as Tangela has great physical bulk for tanking Earthquake, Regenerator giving Tangela alot of longevity, and a great utility movepool with Leech Seed and Knock Off.

"Vileplume's best set allows it take on common physical attackers like Virizion and Golisopod. From there, it can put them to sleep with Sleep Powder, then lower their offenses while keeping itself healthy with Strength Sap and Giga Drain. While it has a slightly better offensive presence, Vileplume is still largely outclassed by Tangela, which has a superior defensive presence."

Vileplume's best set allows it take on common physical attackers like Virizion and Golisopod. not really.. its kind of a shaky check to all of the things its supposed to check. From there, it can put them to sleep with Sleep Powder, then lower their offenses while keeping itself healthy with Strength Sap and Giga Drain. While it has a slightly better offensive presence, Vileplume is still largely outclassed by Tangela, which has a superior defensive presence.

id also mention its vulnerability to metagross somewhere

talk about how you specifically need poisonium z to reliably deal with virizion, everything else looks fine

Vileplume's best set allows it barely check common physical attackers like Virizion and Golisopod,(RC) with Poisonium Z specifically to do significant damage to Virizion. From there, it Vileplume can put them to sleep with Sleep Powder, then lower their offenses while keeping itself healthy with Strength Sap and Giga Drain. WMAR, this last check wasn't implemented properly. Fix this before it gets uploaded by a mod.
