Ambipom's Wrath (OU Warstory)

This is actually my first warstory and probably my last Gen 4 warstory.
I was testing my new offensive team on Shoddy and had a nice battle against UberKoga.

This may seem like a bad matchup, but Eruption will do around 60% to me.
I'm going to use Earthquake him so his Eruption will do pathetic damage and I can SR on the switch.

Yay for Heatproof! Time to set up rocks, because he can't KO me with Eruption and he is (probably) Choiced.

He probably knows I have Heatproof and I don't want my Bronzong to be Quaked,
so it's time for Shiny Azelf to join the battle!

He can only OHKO me with Close Combat.
If he goes for the Swords Dance, I'll kill him with Earthquake!

Let's look at the calcs, Infernape does between 70% and 84% damage to Lucario with Mach Punch.
If I don't kill him, Life Orb recoil kills him.
Extremespeed only does around 50% to me, so if he uses that, I have my Infernape unless he has a crit.

It's super effective!

My Infernape has SD/CC/Fire Punch/Mach Punch.
I can only hit him for NVE damage and he can OHKO me with Surf.
I'll have to switch out to Zapdos.

He predicted my switch and blew away the rocks to keep Typhlosion alive.
As he can't hurt me, I'll go for U-Turn as he'll probably switch.
(I have Choice Specs by the way.)

If he has Earthquake, he'll switch out and I U-Turn to a counter.
If he has Avalanche, I U-Turn to Infernape to take as less damage as possible and Mach Punch him off!

How did your Azelf outspeed his +2 Gyarados?

The battle was not bad, and you had some good predictions, especially with Zapdos, though your opponent did not seem very good. Some of the comments were pretty helpful, but especially toward the end they kind of became short and factual, without much insight. Also, I'm not sold on your gimmicky sets, especially the Ambipom. 6/10

^ Scarf Azelf. Normally a lead, which U-Turns first turn, or explodes.
Anyway, a well done warstory. I was sceptical when something like Typhlosion appeared, but it was well set out and well narrated. Good first warstory.

Very nice presentation, good battle, and okay commentary. Like Coldcut said, towards the end of the battle the comments were rather bland.

But a good warstory nevertheless. Great job, I'll be looking forward to more warstories from you.

Pretty much how I felt, but the commentary was really really lacking. I'd give it a 6.5~7.3/10, for some gimmicky sets and bad commentary.

Anyway, this battle was ok. You predicted well, but your opponent was bad, just straight bad. Next time, pick a battle against a decent opponent. Overall, I'd say 6/10 as well.

That is something that could have gone into your comments to let us know what your plan was, because otherwise switching Azelf into Gyarados would have been a very foolish move. And +2 max speed Gyarados still outspeeds +1 max speed Azelf, though the presence of Leftovers was a pretty good clue that it was not running max speed.

When I saw Leftovers recovery, I was pretty sure it was bulky DD Gyarados.
If it would have used DD, it outspeeds Azelf next turn but doesn't KO.
If it would have used Waterfall, I would have outsped and Exploded next turn.

The comments were really quite detrimental since reading them I thought that you were a worse battler than you actually seem to be from the match. Try and bring the reader into your actual thought processes, and if those aren't in depth enough, then don't warstory.

Still the layout was quite good and like I said it was an alright battle, so please try again at some point :)
