Only Maxim and nightblitz42 should post in this thread.

Scenario: Grocery Trip (Gotta get more snacks to watch the Mythbusters marathon)
Tier: 2

Pokemon #1: Maya the Kangaskhan
Pokemon Ability: Inner Focus
Pokemon Item: None
Pokemon Background: Maxim met Maya during a trip to the Safari Zone in Kanto. While on an excursion, Maxim met a pack of poachers attempting to get at a herd of Kangaskhan in the area. Naturally, Maxim helped thwart the poachers, and made friends with Maya along the way, eventually taking her with him on his adventures. Maya has taken to city life surprisingly well, helping Maxim with chores around the house. She picked up an odd habit of cleanliness while around him though.
Pokemon Helpful Quality: Maya is very caring, and can help talk down opponents.
Pokemon Detrimental Quality: Maya is something of a neat freak, sometimes focusing on cleaning up filth in the immediate area despite more pressing concerns.

Pokemon #2: Vigil the Sigilyph
Pokemon Ability: Wonder Skin
Pokemon Item: None
Pokemon Background: Maxim met Vigil in the Desert Resort early on in his adventures. Vigil quickly proved his worth to the team, providing heavy support to the team in terms of flight, knowledge, and occasionally firepower. However, while Vigil knows a lot about ancient history, he unfortunately gets it mixed up with various conspiracy theories through the ages. His belief in conspiracy theories has made him very paranoid, and thus very bad at social interaction, though Maxim has been working with him on this.
Pokemon Helpful Quality: Vigil is knowledgeable about ancient ruins and archeology.
Pokemon Detrimental Quality: Vigil can be a paranoid wreck at times.

It's the dead of night. You, Maya, and Vigil are sitting atop the sofa marathoning your Mythbusters DVD collection. You're up to episode 325 so far. Any casual fan would have stopped long ago, but you are determined to keep going and finish the set. Having gotten this far, it's partially a matter of pride to you that you complete your marathon. But at the same time, you truly are enjoying yourself. Nestled under a soft fleece blanket with a giant bowl of microwaved popcorn to share among your Pokemon, there's nothing more you could possibly want than to stay like this for the next few hours.

Well, that's what you think. But when your hand touches the bottom of the popcorn bowl, you come to the tragic realization that the bowl is now empty.

Dang.

Reluctantly, you hit Pause on your remote. Your Pokemon whine, but once you explain the popcorn emergency to them, they understand what must be done. A trip to the grocery store is in order. You change out of your pajamas, quickly comb your hair, and exit out the front door.

Immediately, you notice that your tidy suburban neighborhood is looking very unfamiliar and very untidy. The sky is blood-red, with great streaks of fire arcing across the air. The ground under your feet groans and shifts, almost as if it is angry. Most of the houses around you have crumbled to their very foundations (some of them are on fire too). And when you look around, you don't see a single other person. What is going on, you wonder? And more importantly: is the grocery store still okay? Better get on that. After all, your marathon is at stake here.

---

You often find yourself stopping to step over rubble, but you still make good progress. Then, about halfway to the grocery store, you finally encounter a problem you can't ignore: a huge chasm spans across an entire city block. It's so deep that you can't see the bottom. What stands out to you in particular is the chasm's shape: an unnaturally perfect circle. What could have caused something like this?

Maxim how will your Pokemon respond to the obstacle ahead of you?

"Oh...that can't be good!"

:Sigilyph: "Oh no, it is just as the prophecies foretold! The Final Days are upon us!"

"We're going to have to look for survivors while we make our way to the store. Come on!"

:Kangaskhan: "...You're still planning to pick up snacks at the store at a time like this?!"

"Yes! Uh...I mean that's where we're likely to find more people in need of help."

Curiously, despite the widespread devastation, we were unable to find anyone in need of help. Or any corpses. Or any sign of where all the people went. Eventually, we made our way to a perfectly circular crevasse...

:Sigilyph: "Dear Switzerland, it's a perfect circle! It's just like the crop circles, aliens must be behind this!"

:Kangaskhan: "Aliens? Come now!"

"Enough, we need to find a way past this crevasse. Let me drop a rock and see how deep it goes."

I dropped some rubble into the crevasse, but never heard a sound.

"Well. That's mildly terrifying. How are we supposed to cross it now? I guess we could get Vigil to fly over, but he can't carry both of us."

:Kangaskhan: "Hmm, I think I have an idea."

"Oh wait duh I can just put Maya in the Pokeball and---"

Will use Circle Throw on Maxim to throw him to the other side of the crevasse, putting in some extra Strength behind it if necessary.

Will use Telekinesis (or Psychic) to slow Maxim down once he clears the crevasse to avoid the landing being lethal. Then he will Fly Maya over the crevasse.

:Kangaskhan: "So long King Bowser!"

"WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY"

:Sigilyph: "What a good throw! Hercules would be proud."

Maya grabs you by the leg and swings you three times in a circle before flinging you over the crevasse. Too fast! Your face approaches the asphalt with lethal speed. You scream. Fortunately, right before you turn into Maxim Soup you feel a supernatural force pull on you from behind. You slow down -- just a smidge! -- but enough to soften the otherwise fatal blow. Yes, death will not come to take you away today, but pain is about to get real friendly with you.

As you brush the dirt off your face and watch Vigil gently carry Maya across the pit, you wonder why Vigil couldn't have carried you as well...

Success! +2 RPT.

You continue walking towards the grocery store, while also keeping an eye out for any people. But you find nobody, living nor dead. That is, until you spot some movement behind a pile of rubble.

> "Someone there?" you call out.

No answer. You clamber atop the pile of rubble and peer over it, then --

:ss/politoed: "Eek! Get away from us!"

A frightened Politoed smacks you in the jaw and knocks you onto your back. Floating behind the frog is what appears to be a sentient fan.

:ss/rotom-fan: "W-w-we won't go down without a f-f-fight!" stammers the Rotom.

The Politoed leaps towards you, flailing its arms wildly. Clearly it is terrified, and so it is not entirely thinking straight. A confrontation is unavoidable.
:politoed: "Gyaaah! Take that, foul monsters!"

Maxim to send out/order.

“Ow my rib cage…”

:Kangaskhan: “Hmm, looks like you didn’t slow him down enough Vigil.”

:Sigilyph: “If I slowed him down anymore he’d have blacked out from the g forces. By the way did you know that g forces were actually invented by…”

“Wait you two, I hear something…over there.”
===============
“Wait! I’m not here to hurt you, I just need information!”

:Sigilyph: “Aha! We have found the culprits! Now tell me, was it the mole men who told you to destroy this town? Or was it the lizard people? Answer me!”

:Kangaskhan: “I really don’t think—“

But it was too late, Vigil was already on the attack.

Sigilyph comes out first

:Kangaskhan: "You mean like how you were thinking the hole in the ground was caused by aliens not 5 seconds ago?"

:Sigilyph: "More importantly, that Rotom has access to Overheat."

"A move that, lest we forget, is exclusive to oven mode. Furthermore, the move drains Rotom's Special Attack, which leaves it only able to use the move three times before it does basically nothing."

:Sigiliyph: "Well---"

"So what you're trying to tell me is that you started a fight with these two because you thought they torched an entire neighborhood, maybe even the whole town, with no useful fire moves?"

:Sigilyph: "...I may have made an error in judgement."
