A strange game. The only winning move is not to play.

This reminds me of the "Beauty Contest" experiment where people are asked to think of a number between 0 and 100 and they win if they pick the number closest to two thirds of the population average.

The idea is that the Nash Equilibrium exists at 0, but all practical examples of this game give a winning number of around 20-25.

It all depends on what level of thinking you employ ("I know that you know that I know that you know that I know etc.).
