[Pros]

- Immense HP and high Special Defense, further boosted by Eviolite, make it the greatest special wall around, making it one of the few reliable checks to many dangerous special attackers, such as Volcarona and Nasty Plot Hydreigon.
- Very expansive movepool with a wide variety of support and utility options.
- Natural Cure allows it to absorb status, which goes well with its defensive role.
- Decent defensive typing with only one weakness and an immunity to Ghost.

[Cons]

- Very passive; relies on Seismic Toss and status moves to inflict damage, making it prone to being setup fodder for (Substitute-using) Ghost-types.
- Its physical bulk pales in comparison to its special bulk, making it easily overwhelmed by strong physical attackers and moves like Psyshock.
- Heavily relies on its held item, Eviolite, as without it it's significantly less bulky, and therefore has to look out for the ubiquitous Knock Off (and Trick).
- Heavily crippled by a Choice item being forced onto it through Trick/Switcheroo.
- Its typing offers no resistances (but it does offer a Ghost immunity).

Pink Blob
Chansey @ Eviolite
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD
Bold Nature
- Soft-Boiled
- Seismic Toss
- Toxic / Thunder Wave / Teleport
- Stealth Rock / Heal Bell / Wish / Teleport

This set is the special sponge we all know and love (or hate). Eviolite is a must-have on Chansey, as it heavily boosts its defenses (otherwise you're better off using Blissey). Natural Cure allows it to absorb status and clear it by switching out. Near maximum HP and Defense investment patches up its relatively poor physical bulk, thus improving its overall bulk and allowing it to handle a wider variety of threats (e.g., Psyshock users). Soft-Boiled is mandatory for it to keep itself healthy, while Seismic Toss is very important to prevent it from being completely passive setup fodder. Toxic puts a timer on threats like Volcarona and Rotom-Heat and walls like Hippowdon and Mandibuzz, while Thunder Wave can be used to cripple Pokemon like Alakazam, Gengar, Clefable, and Reuniclus, which Toxic doesn't affect. Do keep in mind that Seismic Toss does not affect Ghost-types, meaning they can safely use Chansey as setup fodder from behind a Substitute (or even without it in case of Gengar vs. Toxic Chansey). Teleport is an alternative that allows Chansey to take a hit and bring in something else safely as well as maintain momentum on predicted switches, which can be very valuable for offensive partners. Chansey is a decent Stealth Rock setter, as it can find many opportunities to come in and get them up. If Stealth Rock has already been accounted for, Heal Bell (or Aromatherapy) is very useful if certain members of your team are particularly weak to status, such as on stall teams. Finally, it also has the ability to support its teammates with Wish, similar to Clefable. Wish and Teleport are not compatible on Chansey however, but it does have the advantage of its Wish being significantly fatter (352 HP vs Clefable's 197 HP). This set fits best on defensive teams looking for a special wall, but Teleport also allows it to fit even on teams that are more offensively inclined.

Tech for the ghosts (specifically gengar) that may use chansey as setup fodder with sub np - teleport on the sub to dragapult, who can force the sub mon out due to infiltrator. May only work on certain teams since teleport is not always the easiest to fit on chansey but it is a nice interaction.
