Wylie, on its last legs, uses a quick attack on numel. Following closely behind, Bugs also uses a quick attack on numel. However, bugs manages to score a critical hit, knocking numel out right then and there. Remembering that patience is a virtue, float charges up electrical energy for an upcoming attack. This also boosts its special defense.

Wylie is so exhausted that it can't even manage to use another quick attack, and it faints from energy exhaustion. Float, taking the initiative, uses a muddy water on the unsuspecting bugs, striking it for more than solid damage. Angered over the loss of its friend, bugs uses a retaliation on float, striking it as hard as it can for its fainted friend.

Float, needing a rest from the attacks, uses a detect to dodge another retaliation. Exhausted, both pokemon now take a little break.

The match is coming to a close, as tort only has one pokemon left. Eevee and Piclowatt are about 8 feet apart, with Float about 4 feet from the water. finn, I need your next pokemon. Tort can call out actions after that, and finn can follow suit. Finish strong!

...Dangit, I thought he had Litwick. (Note to self-get a Tomohawk prevo the moment it's available. Fighting-type moves rule.)

"Use Wild Charge against Bugs, then Ice Beam him, then Wild Charge" against whoever is surviving.

If on the last turn Tweety uses Retaliation, Detect it.

Bugs: quick attack away then retaliation back. Finish with another Retaliation
Tweety; use Retaliation then Shadowball and then Retaliation

The two remaining eevee, both saddened over the recent loss of their friend, are ready to retaliate against their fierce competitor. Bugs starts with a Quick attack on Float, striking it before it can even move. Not to be outdone, float uses a Wild Charge against Bugs, but unfortunately misses in its haste to nab a KO. Tweety follows up its partner with a Retaliation.

Float tries to make up for its mistake last action with an Ice Beam. The shot of frozen water nails Bugs, but fails to stop its rage-filled onslaught of Retaliations. The force of the blow knocks Float back into the water, but manages to stay on top. Tweety fires a Shadow Ball while Float is vulnerable, striking it for critical damage, and unluckily for Float, ending the match.

Great job Finn, congrats on the victory. Those STAB+Adaptability retaliations won the match for you; they have a base of 19 damage before attack/defense differences. Good try Trot, you'll get it next time. Maybe a bit more Blizzard spamming might have helped...

Now for rewards!!!

I get 6 Ref Tokens.

Finn and Tort, you both get three TCs, and each of your pokemon gets 1 MC/DC/EC. In addition, Tweety, Scylar and Scraggy all get a KO counter. Bugs gets two KO counters. (Scylar was the only pokemon on the field when Wylie fainted from energy exhaustion, so it gets a KO counter).

Again, great job guys, congrats finn, and thanks for letting me ref!

...Don't you mean Plicowatt was the only one on the field when Wylie fainted from energy exhaustion?

(And actually, I came to the conclusion I need a fighting-type/need Superpower on Syclar. Maybe Tomohawk's prevo. Part of my strategy revolved around Finn not having a third Eevee, and rather using Litwick. [the other part revolved around the Wish intercepting-still slightly annoyed about that, since I thought from the move description (i.e. a ball of energy) it seemed plausible, but yeah that's the way the cookie crumbles.])

And hey-at least Plicowatt gets to evolve now.

Looking forward to yet another rematch. Next time, of course, I will have Hydro Pump and a much bulkier shrimp.
