Choice Band Slither Wing leverages its large base Attack and STAB Close Combat, U-turn, and First Impression to serve as an extremely potent wallbreaker, revenge killer, and offensive pivot. Flare Blitz is preferred on Tinted Lens sets, allowing it to 2HKO Intimidate and Fluffy Corviknight, while Earthquake is an option to hit checks like non-Earth Eater Skeledirge and Toxapex when running Sword of Ruin. Tinted Lens better allows Slither Wing to revenge kill foes, do more damage to switch-ins with U-turn, and more easily break potential checks like Zapdos and Toxapex while Sword of Ruin grants more overall power for neutral targets such as Fluffy Quaquaval. Slither Wing pairs well with special wallbreakers like Magic Guard Hisuian Electrode and Hydreigon, which can threaten Slither Wing's checks and pivot it in on special walls for it to break. Faster offensive cleaners like Chien-Pao and Meowscarada also pair well with Slither Wing for their ability to handle fast threats and overload physical walls. Defensive pivots like Corviknight and Iron Treads also partner well with Slither Wing, as they're able to safely pivot Slither Wing it in to break wallbreak, and they also absorb revenge killing attempts; furthermore, they are particularly useful for their ability to remove entry hazards, which wear down Slither Wing quickly throughout a game as it pivots frequently.
