Huge Lag Problem

I don't know if it's just me, but Java is lagging way too much. Every 30 minutes or so, I get a lag spike of about 2 mins. That spike makes me have to shut down my computer because Shoddy Battle becomes unresponsive and lags everything else on my computer. After shutting down, I turn on my comp and play again, but only for about 30 minutes. This is really pissing me off and I have to find a way to fix this. Any help? If it helps, I'm running a 2D graphics card. And here's my system properties:



I really want to stop this lag because it's really frustrating.

Considering the Smogon server has around 350-400 people regularly, that will generlly cause lag. Plus, seeing you have 1 GB of ram, it lags. I used to have about teh same comp as you. I had 2 GB of RAM. It lagged terribly for me. Now I have 4 GB of RAM. Only around half a sceond of lag. To change RAM, you need to get either a new hard drive/whatever has RAM, or just get a new computer.
