Welcome to Smogon! Take a moment to read the Introduction to Smogon for a run-down on everything Smogon, and make sure you take some time to read the global rules.
Eelektross @ Fightinium Z
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 168 HP / 252 Atk / 88 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Knock Off
- Superpower
- Wild Charge
- U-turn
Type: Null is able to switch in and set up on regular specially based Eelektross easily but with this more offensive set you can knock off Type: Nulls Eviolite and ko it with All-Out Pummeling.
Pyroar @ Life Orb
Ability: Unnerve
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Fire Blast
- Hyper Voice
- Hidden Power [Grass]
- Endeavor
Type: Null switches into Pyroar for days, so take advantage of this fact by using Endeavor. If Pyroar is low enough (about 25-30%), Endeavor as Null switches in, then it dies to LO Fire Blast.
252 SpA Life Orb Pyroar Fire Blast vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Eviolite Type: Null: 103-122 (26.1 - 30.9%) -- guaranteed 4HKO
Darkinium with Life Orb Offensive Knock Off Mesprit Jmash324 with Choice Band Exeggutor-Alola Taskr with Z-Superpower Eelektross TONE with Endeavour Pyroar
Rejected the Rest Quiver Dance Masquerain. Although the scenario described is accurate, the change in EV spread makes the set very easy to revenge after the realistic 1 Quiver Dance, and having Rest without Sleep Talk makes you very exploitable without gaining anything noticeably valuable in other match-ups. Sorry for not informing you sooner.
Musharna is usually a very safe switch-in to Hitmonchan, and for good reason: it resists its Fighting STAB, and takes very little from Ice Punch. However, with both Choice Band and Throat Chop, Hitmonchan can threaten Musharna with a 2HKO on the switch.
252+ Atk Choice Band Hitmonchan Throat Chop vs. 248 HP / 252+ Def Musharna: 198-234 (45.5 - 53.7%) -- 39.5% chance to 2HKO
252+ Atk Choice Band Hitmonchan Throat Chop vs. 248 HP / 252+ Def Musharna: 198-234 (45.5 - 53.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock
This isn't the only Pokemon Choice Band Hitmonchan can surprise: Gastrodon, Clefairy, Swanna and more are all Pokemon that take more than they would like from a Choice Banded Close Combat. Ice Punch isn't super necessary since Palossand and Altaria have both left us, and most Pokemon that resist Fighting take the same from Close Combat as they would from Ice Punch; however, it still can be useful for dealing more to Golurk and Exeggutor-Alola. Rapid Spin is for emergency removal, albeit exploitable like all Choiced removers, and Pursuit lets you trap or chip slower, weakened foes, or ones that are scared out by a Mach Punch, such as Pyroar. Overall, like the two users whose posts I linked to, I do think that Choice Band Hitmonchan is a very underrated set, and deserves more consideration on more teams.
No need to lure Musharna when you can not only prevent it from setting up with Imprison, but you use it as setup fodder as Musharna can only go for Moonlight.
Primeape @ Choice Band
Ability: Defiant
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Close Combat
- Stone Edge
- Punishment
- U-turn
Since u-turning out is overrated, you just make your team 6-0d by musharna from preview, to make your opponent think "Musharna 6-0s im gonna lead with it and win xdxdxd" you let it set up to +6 and sack something then you say "omg musharna is broken gg." to play with your opponent's mind and make them believe they won, then you go primeape and you punish your opponent for setting up.
252 Atk Choice Band Primeape Punishment (200 BP) vs. 248 HP / 252+ Def Musharna: 450-530 (103.4 - 121.8%) -- guaranteed OHKO
This Mr. Mime set forgoes Z-Focus Blast for Z-Shadow Ball to help against opposing bulky Psychics such as Mesprit, Bronzor, and of course, Musharna. Musharna would usually always be able to outlast Nasty Plot boosted Dazzling Gleams by Calm Mind-ing alongside Mr. Mime. However, Z-Shadow Ball allows Mr. Mime to bust through Musharna’s Calm Mind boosts.
Mr. Mime Dazzling Gleam vs Musharna

After a few Calm Minds Musharna usually doesn't mind taking hits from Aurorus but Frost Breath allows you to bypass the Calm Mind boosts and 2HKO easily.
