Scizor-Mega (M) @ Scizorite
Ability: Light Metal
EVs: 248 HP / 72 Atk / 48 Def / 140 Spe
Impish Nature
- Swords Dance
- Bullet Punch
- Facade
- Roost
As the metagame has evolved, Steel has found a way to combat its crippling weakness to opposing Water and Poison teams by means of Swords Dance + Facade Mega Scizor. Facade allows it to break common defensive Pokemon like Toxapex and Swampert after being burned by their Scald, and Mega Scizor doesn't have any trouble setting up on them thanks to Roost. The given EV spread allows it to avoid the 2HKO from Mega Lopunny and outpace Pokemon like Adamant Azumarill. This set works great with the hazard stacking nature of Steel teams, which quickly chips down offensive checks like Garchomp and Nidoking into range of Bullet Punch thanks to hazard setters like Stealth Rock Heatran and Spikes Ferrothorn, leaving defensive cores like Toxapex + Swampert + Mantine to be ravaged by Mega Scizor alone. However, keep in mind that by dropping moves such as Knock Off and U-turn for Facade, you'll struggle more against types like Normal and Dark, so prepare accordingly when teambuilding.
