[SET COMMENTS]
Ninjask is a niche option usable as an offensive pivot with its amazing Speed and access to STAB U-turn, being able to revenge kill most threats on offense and provide free switches to wallbreakers against bulkier teams. However, due to its mediocre base Attack, horrible bulk, lack of coverage options, and underwhelming STAB combination, Ninjask needs a lot of team support for it to work, as it is very easily checked. Its typing does, however, allow it to switch into some Grass-, Fighting-, and Ground-type moves if necessary, but most of the time it risks being hit by any coverage move, which will deal a significant amount of damage. Swords Dance allows Ninjask to be a late-game cleaner and Protect allows it to safely increase its Speed with Speed Boost and outspeed everything in the tier, including Choice Scarf users such as Mienshao and Flygon, as well as Jolly Barraskewda. 156 EVs on Speed allow Ninjask to outspeed Choice Scarf Metagross and 130 base Speed Pokemon such as Crobat and Aerodactyl. A spread with 44 HP / 252 Atk / 212 Spe can be used to outspeed Jolly Barraskewda without needing to use Protect at the cost of some bulk.
Wallbreakers like Mienshao, Golurk, and Salazzle love Ninjask's capacity to lure in and use U-turn to pivot out of Steel-types. Other offensive pivots help Ninjask pressure the opponent, such as Raikou, Zarude, Noivern, and Mienshao, while defensive pivots such as Incineroar, Porygon2, and Milotic can switch into Ninjask's checks and use their slow pivoting moves to give Ninjask more opportunities to come in. Entry hazard support helps Ninjask weaken the opposing team, which it needs due to its poor coverage. Rhyperior, Cobalion, and Stakataka are good Stealth Rock setters; Cobalion is also able to use Volt Switch to carry momentum and safely bring in Ninjask. Golisopod and Roserade can set Spikes for it, and Golisopod also has Knock Off to remove Leftovers or Heavy-Duty Boots from Ninjask's checks. Roserade, on the other hand, helps deal with Electric- and Water-types that can be an issue for Ninjask.
