Voting is probably the only thing that can really help us hit scum... so we vote... a lot.
There are a few situations where no lynch is the way to go but Day 1 isn't one of them.

NL is entirely situational. An apropos situation for it is when you already have one or more scum flips under your belt, so you've got wiggle room to keep parity from steamrollering you. The same mentality of "we can afford a mislynch", minus the mislynch. Alternatively, you need a small/micro setup, where having two deaths before D2 could potentially be bad.

This game has neither of those things.
