Salamence (Dragon) [QC 0/3]

[OVERVIEW]

Dragon
========
* Salamence makes itself a very good choice for Dragon monotype teams as its sweeping ability can make itself a great win con due to its ability Moxie raises it attack everytime it grabs a KO
* The Choice Scarf set is more splashable and makes Salamence a better revenge killer as with a Choice Scarf it outspeeds many pokemon and is strong enough to knock out weakened pokemon
* The Dragon Dance set allows Salamence to be more free in choosing moves as it's not locked into one move and allows Salamence to break down walls easier that Choice Scarf would not handled as well like most Mega Slowbro sets and fully physical defensive Mega Sableye
* It has decent bulk with 95/80/80 defenses which allows Salamence to tank some hits when it has full hp
* It fairly easily fits on most dragon monotype teams though faces competition with some pokemon such as Hydreigon, Dragonite and Kyurem-B
* It has a pretty annoying Stealth Rock weakness which can limit Salamence's effectiveness

[SET]
name: Choice Scarf
move 1: Outrage / Dragon Claw
move 2: Earthquake
move 3: Iron Tail
move 4: Fire Blast
item: Choice Scarf
ability: Moxie
nature: Naive
evs: 252 Atk / 252 Speed / 4 Spa

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

* Outrage is Salamence's strongest STAB attack and should be used most of the time for sweeps and revenge killing however it can lead to getting yourself being confused
* Dragon Claw can be used over Outrage as it does not require for Salamence to get itself locked into a outrage however the power difference is noticeable
* Earthquake is a very spammable move and has a good coverage of types it can handle Steel, Rock and Electric types that would normally wall Salamence such as Heatran, Bisharp and Tapu Koko
* Iron Tail is used for Fairy types which otherwise walls salamence like Togekiss and Clefable
* Fire Blast is used to hit threats that would other wise normally wall it like Scizor, Skarmory and Ferrothorn while it can hit Grass, Bug and Ice types its better of using your Dragon STAB as Fire Blast does not get effected by Moxie

Set Details
========

* Moxie allows for Salamence to get 1+ atk everytime it gets a KO
* Choice Scarf allows for Salamence to outspeed many threats it couldn't outspeed otherwise like Latios and Tapu Koko
* Max speed with a Naive nature give Salamence maximum speed and helps outspeed a few more mons than usual like Choice Scarf Kyurem-B
* Max attack helps Salamence maximizes it power
* Naive nature gives Salamence a chance to live hits such as a Stone Edge from a Scarf Terrakion, Bisharp's Sucker Punch and Dragonite's Extreme Speed

Usage Tips
========

* Salamence is best used when its facing weakened pokemon and all of the threats that already are taken care off as it allows for Salamence to sweep teams which also helps grabs moxie boosts
* If Salamence can't sweep the opposing team its always a good idea to try and revenge kill
* If the opponent has counters like Slowbro or Hippowdon make sure your teammates weaken them as much as possible before actually attacking them with Salamence as they can usually recover their health with ease
* Salamence excels vs teams that does not have a Fairy or a Steel type pokemon especially since the remaining pokemon cannot resist a STAB outrage
* Salamence enjoys having Stealth Rock removed as it allows for Salamence to tank more hits when it has full hp

Team Options
========

* Latios makes good partners with Salamence as it helps removes Stealth Rock for Salamence, Latios also helps weaken many threats with a powerful Draco Meteor which can lead for Salamence to clean up and grab Moxie Boosts
* Latias also makes a good partner as it is a good defogger while also making a nice support with both tailwind and healing wish
* Dragonite is a good pick as it helps punchole teams very nicely with a Choice Band set and 2HKOes threats that usually wall Salamence such as Slowbro and Swampert while Dragonite also appreciates having foes being weakened by Salamence so Dragonite can easily pick them off later in battle
* Hydreigon helps as it can tear down many threats with a Choice Specs set such as Skarmory and bulky Psychic types like Slowbro and Jirachi
* Garchomp is a good partner as it can set up stealth rocks which can help wear down teams as Flying and Bug mono teams while also can help wear down Steel types like Heatran and Scizor without having Salamence locked into a Outrage
* Kyurem-Black is a good choice as it can beat bulky Ground and Flying types such as Hippowdon and Gliscor which Salamence normally can't beat
* While its not really a relevant threat Kommo-o with a Choice Specs can be used to deal with fat threats such as Avalugg with Focus Blast and Clanging Scales to hit Gliscor.

name: Dragon Dance
move 1: Dragon Dance
move 2: Outrage / Dragon Claw
move 3: Earthquake
move 4: Iron Tail/Fire Blast
item: Dragonium Z / Steelium Z / Lum Berry
ability: Intimidate / Moxie
nature: Jolly / Naive
evs: 252 Atk / 252 Speed / 4 Def

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

* Dragon Dance allows Salamence to set up a 1+ attack and speed in the same turn which gives it the ability to sweep and outspeed many threats such as Tapu Koko and Starmie
* Outrage is Salamence's main STAB which does 120 base damage though once picked Outrage its locked
* When carrying Dragonium Z Outrage turns into a 190 base damage attack which makes Salamence dangrous as even the likes of most Mega Slowbro sets and max defense fear Salamence with 1+ atk when switching in
* Dragon Claw can be picked over Outrage since it has much better mobility than Outrage however it lacks power compared to outrage which can be noticeable
* Earthquake deals with Ground, Rock, Fire types and Poison types such as Heatran, Bisharp and Toxapex
* Iron Tail deals with fairy and rock types like Clefable and Tyranitar, if you equip Steelium Z you can do a massive 180 base attack Corkscrew Crash while also having 100% accuracy which gives it a chance to kill max defense Clefable also does the exact same damage as Outrage which can be handy however once used you won't be able to pick off other Fairies like Azumarill at 1+ especially when they're behind a reflect from Klefki
* Fire Blast can be used so you can cover up Steel types like Scizor and Skarmory while hitting Grass and Bug types like Tapu Bulu and Buzzwole

Set Details
========

* Intimidate helps Salamence give more chance to set up and to tank more hits
* Moxie is a nice option as it gives a 1+ attack every time Salamence grabs a KO but Intimidate is prefered as a simple Dragon Dance is all what salamence usually needs
* Dragonium Z allows for Salamence to do a one turn 190 BP Devestating Drake attack which helps it tear down many threats that would usually like at 1+ a 80% chance to take out full physical defensive Mega Sableye and guarantees to OHKO pokemon like defensive Rotom-W
* Steelium Z helps salamence to tackle Fairy type pokemon much easier with Corkscrew Crash which helps it to do a one turn 180 BP Steel attack
* Lum berry allows for Salamence to take status moves such as burns and paralysis while also not getting yourself confused by your own Outrage
* Max speed + jolly allows to speed tie with 100 base speed mons like Charizard while also outspeeding pokemon like Kyurem-Black
* Max attack allows Salamence to maximize its strength and power
* Naive can be run if running Fire Blast

Usage Tips
========

* When using Intimidate try and set up on physical attackers like Tapu Bulu and Darmanitan so you can take full advantage of the ability Intimidate and set up some Dragon Dances
* You can also set up on pokemon that salamence resist like lanturn and golisopod
* Salamence can also take advantage of pokemon that salamence can tank a hit from like mega alakazam and gengar
* When using Moxie if Salamence outspeeds another pokemon and can at least tank one more hit from a opposing pokemon try and set up a dragon dance and take out the current opposing pokemon
* If carrying lum berry use it so you can extend your outrage turns or catch out the odd unlucky scald burns
* Before you set up make you get rid of some of Salamence's counters like Slowbro and Porygon2 which both can recover and just ice beam it out so make sure they are either extremely weakened or fainted
* Setting up on Foul Play users like Mega Sableye and Mandibuzz is a bad idea as setting up one +1 dragon dance leads for salamence getting a 20% chance of getting OHKO'd which is not worth it
* Salamence needs stealth rock removing so it can tank more hits when it sets ups

Team Options
========

* Defoggers such as the Lati twins make good partners as salamence enjoy having stealth rock removal, Latias is the prefered choice for dragon dance set as Latios makes a better partner for offensive varients while Latias can be a nice utility from setting up tailwinds, healing wish and defog.
* Choice scarf users such as Latios, Hydreigon and Kyurem-B make good partners since they can help take out faster threats such as opposing Dragon Mono teams, Crobat and Tapu Koko, Latios does the choice scarf role best as it can outspeed mons like 1+ Charizard X and Choice scarf Garchomp
* Dragonite with a Choice Band can make a terrifying partner for Salamence as it can help tear down Salamence's counters such as Mega Sableye and Jellicent switching in
* Kyurem-B is great for handling Flying, Grass and Ground types such as Mandibuzz, Hippowdon and Mega Venusaur while also handling big threats to mono such as Azumarill and if Kyurem is a holding Choice Scarf Weavile which can annihilate dragon mono teams let alone just salamence
* Garchomp is a good parnter as Salamence enjoys stealth rock supports while also handling threats such as Bisharp, Scizor and Skarmory very nicely for Salamence that holds iron tail over fire blast
* Hydreigon makes a good partner for Salamence especially if it had Iron Tail to deal with fairy types while in return deal with many bulky pokemon that Salamence struggles with such as Swampert, Slowbro, Gliscor and many more that Salamence appreciates having removed
* Despite not really being a relevant threat Choice Specs Kommo-O is a decent partner as its signature move Clanging Scales never drops spa which is handy for wallbreaking pokemon like Mandibuzz and defensive Porygon2, it also have good coverage like flamethrower for steel like Skarmory and Ferrothorn and Flash Cannon to deal with weakened Fairies like Diancie

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Dragon
--------
* You can run life orb on the Dragon Dance set which can grab more power some a few extra KOs like Krookodile and Keldeo when Stealth Rock is up though this item is too situational and Lum Berry or Z items are just alot better
* It can run a offensive mix set with Draco meteor, Fire Blast, Earthquake and Hydro Pump but gets outclassed by Hydreigon which the only thing it has over is Hydro Pump so it ain't worth using it in most situations
* It can run a bulky Defog set with Intimidate and Roost though its outclassed by Lati twins

Checks and Counters
===================

Dragon
--------
**Steel Types**: Steel Types can wall Salamence when its locked into a Outrage like Ferrothorn and Metagross though they must watch out for Earthquake and Fire Blasts

**Fairy Types**: Bulky Fairy types like Clefable, Togekiss and Tapu Fini can take on Salamence with ease however mons like Clefable and Togekiss have to watch out for a Iron Tail and Corkscrew Crash

**Physical Defensive Walls With Recovery**: Pokemon such as Hippowdon and Porygon2 can wall it and easily recover back while hitting back with moves like Stone Edge, Ice beam and Toxic

**Ice Types**: Pokemon like Weavile and Mamoswine can handle Salamence from revenge killing with Ice Shard or just checking it with mons like Avalugg though ice type pokemon have to watch out for Fire Blasts and Iron Tail

**Bulky Water Types**: Pokemon such as Swampert and Slowbro wall Salamence by Ice Beaming it while mons like Azumarill can switch in and play rough it back just note that the Water typing is irrelevant as Water type pokemon take dragon STAB moves naturally

**Stealth Rock Users**: Stealth Rock in general can weaken Salamence and makes it more vulnerable later in matches

I haven't personally used Dragon Dance Salamence much on Dragon teams, so I'll do some testing later today.

Is Z-Iron Tail really the best Z-move? I would have expected Z-Outrage to be superior. Z-Outrage lets you save a moveslot to use Fire Blast to hit weakened Skarmory and Ferrothorn. It also beats Mega Sableye with a 80% chance to OHKO even a fully defensive spread at 100% after one Dragon Dance. Most Mega Slowbro spreads can't even switch into Z-Outrage, as Outrage will KO it after. Even if you have Iron Tail, I don't think that gets through Azumarill once you've used Z-Iron Tail on Clefable. Furthermore, if Klefki has already set up Reflect, this won't work anyway.

I'm also leaning to <Z item> / Lum Berry for the item slashing. Having the extra burst from a Z-move is what makes the Dragon Dance set good. I don't think Life Orb is good or viable. Maybe it can be OO if there are any KOs it hits, but I didn't see any in your Set Details, so I'm thinking to just drop it.

edited the stuff you mentioned and will show what I edited and added in the skeleton.

[Overview]
* Choice Scarf should be considered over Dragon Dance when using Salamence as the Choice Scarf set is much more splashable and effective in battle while Dragon Dance is rarely splashed on Teams and only should be considered if you want to break fatter threats like Mega Slowbro at a +1 with a Z move while also starting from scratch

[Dragon Dance and Moves]
* When carrying dragonium z outrage turns into a 190 base damage attack which makes salamence really scary as even the likes of most mega slowbro sets and max defence fear salamence with 1+ atk when switching in

* Iron Tail deals with fairy and rock types like clefable and tyranitar, if you equip steelium z you can do a massive 180 base attack Corkscrew Crash while also having 100% accuracy which gives it a chance to kill max defense clefable also does the exact same damage as outrage which can be handy however once used you won't be able to pick off other fairies like azumarill at 1+ especially when they're behind a reflect from klefki so watch out

[Set Details]
* Dragonium Z allows for Salamence to do a one turn 190 Devestating Drake attack which helps it tear down many threats that would usually like at 1+ a 80% chance to take out full physical defensive Mega Sableye and guarantees to OHKO pokemon like defensive Rotom-W

[Other Options]

* You can run life orb on the dragon dance set which can grab more power some a few extra kos like krookodile and keldeo when stealth rock is up though this item is too situational and lum berry or z items are just alot better

Amcheck part 1 (I'll do it for the second set when I find time to)

[Overview]
- don't mention things like "choice scarf is better than dragon dance" in the overview. It is just fine to mention the sets it can run.
- unless salamence is used as a defensive pivot, it isnt meant to be switching into attacks or tanking hits. Instead, mention in the last bullet that the weakness to rocks hinders its effectiveness

[Set]
- add Dragon Claw as a slash to Outrage
-also fix spaces and slashes
- Naive nature lets it take things like Bisharp's Sucker Punch and Dragonite's Espeed slightly better, so use it over Hasty

name: Choice Scarf
move 1: Outrage / Dragon Claw
move 2: Earthquake
move 3: Iron Tail
move 4: Fire Blast

ability: Moxie
nature: Naive
evs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe

Moves
======
- outrage shouldn't be used as often as possible, it should actually be used as sparingly as possible. like only when Outrage is needed to KO or when sweeping entirely is possible after the absence of fairy types, steel types and physical walls. Locking itself into outrage isn't always a good option.
- talk about why dragon claw can sometimes prove to be better than outrage. It does almost the same after a moxie boost and doesn't require you to be locked into it.
- mention that Earthquake has good coverage and is much more spammable
- fire blast is used mainly for defensive steel types like scizor, skarmory, and Ferrothorn. Bug, grass and ice types are hit better with its Dragon Stab anyway, and Dragon stab is a better move to locked into against these types since it creates a snowball effect with moxie unlike fire blast

Set details
=========
- remove the mention of it outspeeding scarf landorus-t. It isnt gonna OHKO until after a few moxie boosts. Mention kyurem-b instead.
- naive is just a better nature than hasty, since it has a better chance of surviving physical priority moves. Remove the mention of hasty.

Usage tips
========
- the bullet mentioning slowbro worded quite poorly and is hard to understand. Also, salamence shouldnt try to handle walls on its own without prior damage.
- every sweeper appreciates stealth rock on the foe's side of the field, and salamence is nothing special. Unless rocks are needed to get the KOs against something crucial, remove the mention of stealth rock onthe opponent's side of the field

Team options
============
- why didn't you talk about how latias can provide tailwind and healing wish support?
- latios and latias should be talked about separately
- dragonite isnt a good teammate because it is also weak to rocks and is a physical attacker. Dragonite is a good teammate because it can pick off foes weakened by salamence.
- cresselia isnt the best example when talking about hydreigon. Mention slowbro and jirachi instead
- Zapdos isn't a threat to salamence
- druddigon is just bad, remove it

There are also a lot of grammatical mistakes, try to have them fixed before sending it to GP.

Moves
=====
- give examples of what salamence can outspeed after a dragon dance
- it isnt going to be locked into Outrage 'for good', just say that being locked into outrage can sometimes backfire, and care has to be taken when using it
- just mention that earthquake has good coverage and is able to hit heatran, types like poison aren't good examples of why earthquake should be considered
- iron tail is only meant for fairy types, rocks types are already hit by earthquake
- fire fang doesn't need a mention imo, since things that are immune to earthquake are already hit withholding Fire Blast, aside from sp def celesteela

Set details
=========
- moxie doesnt give it immediate power, salamence needs a kill to activate it
- remove the mention of firium z

Usage tips
=========
- victini occasionally carries glaciate, so use another physical attacker as an example
- Keldeo always carries icy wind, and it isnt going to be using scald secret sword against a dragon team. Remove the mention of keldeo.
- most of the Usage Tips seems to suggest setting up on things that can hit really hard and just hoping to survive it. Salamence is supposed to avoid damage whenever possible and they to find the exact opportunity to set up and sweep.
- setting up on an imminent status move is a bad idea. Its basically just throwing away the Lum berry. Lum berry is mostly meant to get out of confusion and to cure an unlucky status, not for setting up directly on things like defensive rotom-w.
- once again, dont mention that 'it needs stealth rock on the opponent's field' unless the rocks are needed for a KO.
- say that setting up against Foul Play users like Mega Sableye is a bad idea.

Team options
===========
Couldn't help but notice that the Team Options for both sets are almost identical. Both sets are different and have different threats, so make sure that the team options aren't the exact same.
Also, I think 'Lati twins' or 'Lati@s' shouldn't be used in analyses. Use them by their name Latios and Latias. Better to ask a GP member about this.

[Strategy comments]
Other options
===========
- when talking about the bulky set, mention Roost and Intimidate. Also remove the mention of Flygon, it isn't a common or even viable defogger.
- it already runs a mixed set, since you have Fire Blast amongst physical moves. Instead, mention the other special moves it can run, such as Draco Meteor.

Checks and Counters
=================
The formatting is wrong with this. It should look like

**Steel-types**: Bulky Steel-types like...

- In the Bulky Water types section, neither Swamped nor slowbro run Ice Beam. Azumarill also can't switch into a +1 Iron Tail and use Play Rough.

There are quite a lot of grammatical mistakes and poor wording here as well, have it corrected before sending to GP.

This looks ok and is fine to implement Roseybear. I'll add to it or make small changes as I QC and give you some feedback hnbl. The main thing I want to change are the slashes / move ordering.

I'll go over the z move set later.

[OVERVIEW]

Dragon
======== <-Add this

* Salamence makes himself a very good choice for dragon monotype teams as his sweeping ability can make himself a great win con due to its ability moxie raises it attack everytime it grabs a kill Itself; don't add genders even in the case of monogender pokemon such as chansey.
* Salamence can also make a nice revenge killer as with a choice scarf it outspeeds many pokemon and is strong enough to knock out weakened pokemon
* Its a very versatile mon as it can run many moves and sets such as the dragon dance set making it a very effective sweeper however the choice scarf set is the best and most of the time should be considered. Not that many; it has two sets, and 6 moves between them.
* It can annihilate many unprepared teams and should be a threat to watch out for This is more suited to a threatlist than an analysis; you're supposed to be describing it/how to use it
* It has decent bulk with 95/80/80 defenses which allows salamence to tank some hits with or without intimidate such as life orb gengar If it's with or without, just don't mention it. Also Don't give specifics unless its super relevant, which I'm pretty sure Gengar isn't (you aren't using Mence specifically as a gengar check)
* The Choice Scarf set is considered more splashable and makes salamence a better revenge killer while the Dragon Dance set allows salamence to be more mobile as it's not locked into one move and allows salamence to break down walls easier that choice scarf would not handled as well like most mega slowbro sets and fully physical defensive mega sableye Don't say is considered, just say is. Also more mobile is a kinda useless phrasing.
* It fairly easily fits on most dragon monotype teams though faces competition with some pokemon such as Hydreigon, Dragonite and Kyurem-B
* It has a pretty annoying stealth rock weakness which can limit salamence's effectiveness

Moves
========

* Outrage is Salamence's strongest STAB attack and should be used very often for sweeps and revenge killing however it can lead to getting yourself being confused so be careful It's not often the best move to click? Certainly not as much as this seems to suggest
* Dragon Claw can be used over Outrage as it does almost the same damage when given the moxie boost and does not require for Salamence to get itself locked into a outrage however the power difference is noticeable so be careful This is super confusing; don't say be careful so much, or ideally at all
* Earthquake is a very spammable move and has a good coverage of types it can handle such steel, rock and electric types while also handling pokemon that would normally wall salamence such as heatran, bisharp and tapu koko While also? The latter are examples of the former, they aren't seperate things.
* Iron Tail is used for Fairy types which otherwise walls salamence like Togekiss or weakened fairies like Clefable "Hit fairy types and weakened fairy types" uh ok just stick with 1
* Fire Blast is used to hit threats that would other wise normally wall it like scizor, skarmory and ferrothorn while it can hit grass, bug and ice types its better of using your dragon stab as fire blast does not get effected by moxie so keep that in mind You don't need "So keep that in mind"

Set Details
========

* Moxie allows for salamence to get 1+ atk everytime it gets a kill Knockout or KO, not kill
* Choice Scarf allows for salamence to outspeed many threats than it usually couldn't do before like Latios, Tapu Koko and allows it to speed tie with mons such as Charizard setting up a dragon dance Before what? And isn't this the usual set? Say "Threats it couldn't outspeed otherwise or something.
* Max speed with a hasty or naive nature give salamence maximum speed and helps outspeed a few more mons than usual like choice scarf kyurem-b Don't mention hasty, and don't repeat yourself; Don't say "than usual" because as the first set this should be what is usual.
* Max attack helps salamence maximizes it power
* Naive and Hasty comes down to preference like naive nature gives Salamence a chance to live a stone edge from a scarf terrakion, bisharp's sucker punch and dragonite's extreme speed when Salamence is naive while a hasty Salamence guarantees a 1+ moonblast survival from clefable though both natures are need so you can have more power from fire blast which is handy Remove the last part, and hasty is much worse that naive. At the very least, relegate Naive to other options.

Usage Tips
========

* Salamence is best used when its facing weakened pokemon and all of the threats that already are taken care off as it allows for Salamence to sweep teams which also helps grabs moxie boosts
* If Salamence can't sweep the opposing team its always a good idea to try and revenge kill
* If it gets countered by pokemon like slowbro or hippowdon make sure your teammates weaken them as much as possible before actually attacking them with salamence as they can usually recover their health with ease Say "If the opponent has counters"--it being countered by them isn't in doubt, its weather or not they carry a counter.
* Salamence excels vs teams that does not have a fairy or a steel type pokemon especially since none of the remaining pokemon cannot resist a STAB outrage None cannot? Remove the double negative
* Salamence enjoys having Stealth Rock removed and having it removed allows Salamence to tank more hits than usual and allows Salamence to switch in more often. Not entirely sure what this is saying, consider rewording

Team Options
========

* Latios makes good partners as it helps removes Stealth Rock for Salamence, Latios also helps weaken many threats with a powerful draco meteor so it can help weaken many threats Don't repeat yourself.
* Latias also makes a good partner as it is a good defogger while also making a nice support with both tailwind and healing wish
* Dragonite makes a good partner helps punchole teams very nicely with a choice band set and 2hko threats that usually wall Salamence such as Slowbro and Swampert while Dragonite also appreciates having foes being weakened by Salamence so Dragonite can easily pick them off later
* Hydreigon helps as it can tear down many threats with a choice specs set such as Skarmory and bulky psychic types like Slowbro and Jirachi
* Garchomp is a good partner as it can set up stealth rocks which can help wear down monotype teams much easier such as Flying and Bug mono teams while also can help wear down steel types like heatran and scizor without having Salamence locked into a outrage No need to mention "monotype teams"--all teams in monotype are monotype teams.
* Kyurem-Black is a good choice as it can beat bulky ground and flying types such as Hippowdon and Gliscor which Salamence normally can't beat
* Kommo-o with a choice specs can be used to deal with fat threats such as avalugg with focus blast and clanging scales to hit gliscor It can also run a autotomize set effectively which can add more speed tier to the team and still handles most of the same threats like rotom-w and landorus-t. Kommo-O isn't all that relevant; it's not terrible, but not that good either, and if you are including it don't mention automise please.

* When carrying dragonium z outrage turns into a 190 base damage attack which makes salamence really scary as even the likes of most mega slowbro sets and max defence fear salamence with 1+ atk when switching in "really scary" is a bit too informal; try threatening or dangrous.
* Dragon Claw can be picked over outrage since it has much better mobility than outrage however it lacks power compared to outrage which can be noticeable
* Earthquake deals with ground, rock, fire types and poison types such as heatran, bisharp, toxapex and volcanion Volcanion doesn't really stay in anyway and is hit plenty hard by the dragon STAB
* Iron Tail deals with fairy and rock types like clefable and tyranitar, if you equip steelium z you can do a massive 180 base attack Corkscrew Crash while also having 100% accuracy which gives it a chance to kill max defense clefable also does the exact same damage as outrage which can be handy however once used you won't be able to pick off other fairies like azumarill at 1+ especially when they're behind a reflect from klefki so watch out Remove watch out
* Fire Blast can be used so you can cover up steel types like scizor and skarmory while hitting grass and bug types like breloom and buzzwole You'd probably rather hit breloom with a dragon stab much of the time; consider a different example

Set Details
========

* Intimidate helps Salamence give more chance to set up and to tank more hits
* Moxie is a nice option as it gives a 1+ attack every time Salamence grabs a kill but Intimidate is prefered as a simple Dragon Dance is all what salamence usually needs KO or knockout, not Kill
* Lum berry allows for salamence to take status moves such as burns and paralysis while also not getting yourself confused by your own outrage
* Dragonium Z allows for Salamence to do a one turn 190 Devestating Drake attack which helps it tear down many threats that would usually like at 1+ a 80% chance to take out full physical defensive Mega Sableye and guarantees to OHKO pokemon like defensive Rotom-W 190 what? Mention BP
* Steelium Z helps salamence to tackle fairy type pokemon much easier with Corkscrew Crash which helps it to do a one turn 180 steel attack 180 what? Mention BP
* Max speed + jolly allows to speed tie with 100 base speed mons like Charizard while also outspeeding pokemon like Kyurem-Black
* Max attack allows salamence to maximize its strength and power
* Naive can be run if running fire blast

Usage Tips
========

* When using intimidate try and set up on physical attackers like tapu bulu and darmanitan so you can take full advantage of the ability intimidate and set up some dragon dances
* You can also set up on pokemon that salamence resist like lanturn and rotom-h Rotom-H carries wisp; lum sets cant OHKO at +1, while Dragonium Z cant set up to +1 freely
* Salamence can also take advantage of pokemon that salamence can normally tank a hit from like mega alakazam and gengar Why mention normally?
* When using moxie if Salamence outspeed another pokemon and can at least tank one more hit from a opposing pokemon try and take out the current opposing weakened pokemon and then set up Why? the +1 Speed is important, and if you set uo, then Ko you get the same buff.
* If carrying lum berry use it so you can extend your outrage turns or catch out the odd unlucky scald burns which can be very handy No need for "can be very handy"
* Before you set up make you get rid of some of salamence's counters like slowbro and porygon2 which both can recover and just ice beam it out so make sure they are either extremely weakened or fainted
* Setting up on Foul Play users like mega sableye and mandibuzz is a bad idea as setting up one +1 dragon dance leads for salamence getting a 20% chance of getting OHKO'd which is not worth it
* Salamence needs hazard removal as it can tank more hits than you think like for example it can live a dazzling gleam from life orb tapu koko so try and remove stealth rock What. This sentence is really convoluted; cut it entirely or rewrite from scratch.

Team Options
========

* Defoggers such as Lati@s make good partners as salamence enjoy having stealth rock removal, Latias is the prefered choice for dragon dance set as Latios makes a better partner for offensive varients while Latias can be a nice utility from setting up tailwinds, healing wish and defog. Not Lati@s, not ever. Also all Salamence are offensive, what does that line even mean.
* Speaking of one of latios choice scarf users such as Latios, Hydreigon and Kyurem-B make good partners since they can help take out faster threats such as opposing Dragon Mono teams, Crobat and Tapu Koko, Latios does the choice scarf role best as it can outspeed mons like 1+ charizard x and choice scarf garchomp Don't say speaking of
* Dragonite with a choice band can make a terrifying partner for salamence as it can help tear down salamence's counters such as mega sableye and jellicent switching in
* Kyurem-b is great for handling flying, grass ground types such as mandibuzz, hippowdon and mega venusaur while also handling big threats to mono such as azumarill and if choice scarf weavile which can annihilate dragon mono teams let alone just salamence To mono? Be more clear.
* Garchomp is a good parnter as Salamence enjoys stealth rock supports while also handling threats such as bisharp, scizor and skarmory very nicely for Salamence that holds iron tail over fire blast
* Hydreigon makes a good partner for salamence especially if it had Iron Tail to deal with fairy types while in return deal with many bulky pokemon that salamence struggles with such as swampert, slowbro, zapdos, gliscor and many more that salamence appreciates having removed
* Choice Specs Kommo-O is a good partner as its signature move Clanging Scales never drops spa which is handy for wallbreaking pokemon like mandibuzz and defensive porygon2, it also have good coverage like flamethrower for steel like skarmory and ferrothorn and flash cannon to deal with weakened fairies like diancie. Again, Kommo-o isn't that relevant; be sure you want to mention it.

Other Options
=============

Dragon
-------- <- add this

* You can run life orb on the dragon dance set which can grab more power some a few extra kos like krookodile and keldeo when stealth rock is up though this item is too situational and lum berry or z items are just alot better
* It can run a offensive mix set with draco meteor, fire blast, earthquake and hydro pump but gets outclassed by hydreigon which the only thing it has over is hydro pump so it ain't worth using it in most situations
* It can run a bulky defog set with Intimidate and Roost though its outclassed by lati twins

Checks and Counters
===================

Dragon
-------- <- add this

**Steel Types**: Steel Types can wall Salamence when its locked into a outrage like ferrothorn and metagross though they must watch out for earthquake and fire blasts

**Fairy Types**: Bulky Fairy types like clefable, togekiss and tapu fini can take on salamence with ease however mons like clefable and togekiss have to watch out for a iron tail and corkscrew crash so prepare for that Remove "so prepare for that"

**Ice Types**: pokemon like weavile and mamoswine can handle salamence from revenge killing with ice shard or just checking it with mons like avalugg though ice type pokemon have to watch out for fire blasts and iron tail

**Bulky Water Types**: Pokemon such as Swampert and Slowbro wall Salamence by ice beaming it while mons like Azumarill can switch in and play rough it back Their being water-type is irelevant, add this to the bullet below.

**Physical Defensive Walls With Recovery**: Pokemon such as hippowdon and porygon2 can wall it and easily recover back while hitting back with moves like stone edge, ice beam and toxic The recovery is bonus, and put this higher, at the very least above ice

**Stealth Rock Users**: Stealth Rock in general can weaken Salamence and makes it less vulnerable later in matches More vulnerable, actually

Fix spacing like so
I wrote this, but then realized a bunch of things are the same as what HNBL said in their QC check. Are you sure you completely implemented that? A visit to http://www.smogon.com/forums/threads/spelling-and-grammar-standards.3588427/ would probably also help a bunch.

E: looks better now, more thoughts later; the biggest issue right now, so far as I can see, is the spacing around slashes.
[SET]
* It has two main sets and uses 6 moves between them (remove, and maybe expand bullet)

move 1: Outrage / Dragon Claw
evs: 252 Atk / 252 Speed / 4 Spa

* Outrage is Salamence's strongest STAB attack and should be used most of the time for sweeps and revenge killing however it can lead to getting yourself being confused so be careful (remove)

move 2: Outrage / Dragon Claw
move 4: Iron Tail / Fire Blast
item: Dragonium Z / Steelium Z / Lum Berry
ability: Intimidate / Moxie
nature: Jolly / Naive
evs: 252 atk / 252 speed / 4 def

Everything else looks fine and is mostly GP, but QC might have other changes

Just waiting on QC checks right now and recently just edited the skeleton to sort out some grammar issues and sorted out the bullet point ordering with the Overview and Dragon Dance Set Details for Salamence's items

I tried to QC this analysis a couple times, but I think major elements are just missing. The metagame has just evolved way too quickly to where the best Salamence set is Flyinium Z Fly (Dragon Dance), which isn't even mentioned. Roseybear I can try to help resolve the issues with the analysis, but it might require a good portion of the analysis to be rewritten. If you're still interested in writing the analysis despite major changes to Salamence pm me on Pokemon Showdown under username iVid and I can help with rewriting process. If not you can drop the analysis, since it's a big commitment to rewrite an analysis.

You guys been brilliant at helping me write this and very friendly but I don't think I could do a major re-work for the Dragon Dance set so I'm afraid gonna drop this analysis and let someone with more experience take over.

I appreciate how much effort you put into this. Sorry we couldn't fix it up without rewriting a lot.
