complete legitimacy
is it cold in the water?
As usual, the administration team consists of phantom and myself. Here is how this season will unfold:
General Format
- There will be 3 weeks of regular season play, and a final week to decide the champion. If there are more than 2 teams tied for the best records, there might be an additional week to weed out some teams or something else.
- There will be 6 or 8 teams, depending on interest. Obviously not all teams will play each other, so there won't be true competitive equality, but that's not a major concern.
- There will be a total of 8 games in each matchup, most likely. This will probably consist of 3 SM / 2 ORAS / 2 BW / 1 manager, but this is also subject to change based on interest and other considerations.
- The tiers themselves are also subject to change.
- Replays are required for all games.
- We're bringing back the live draft from scRUb League 2. This will probably be held within the next week, so managers will get to handpick their teams once again, for the most part.
- We're also bringing back a dedicated smack talk thread. Frequent participation in this thread will increase your chances of victory.
- Double01 clause is in effect.
- atomicllamas clause is in effect.
- Other rules can and will be made up on the spot. The hosts have absolute authority, which they will use and abuse frequently through the entirety of this tournament.
- If you would like to manage, please indicate in your post. Based on previous times, I would say that if you are interested in managing, then there is a very high chance that you will have the opportunity to do so.
- The main responsibility for managers is that you must draft your team at the live draft. This draft will likely occur in the evening/night Eastern Time in the next 5-8 days or so.
- Managers also have the opportunity to name their teams. However, if an unsatisfactory name is chosen, then one will be provided by the hosts.
- Finally, managers will get to play in random or obscure metagames that change each week.
- Players will get to play in the ambitiously experimental metagames that the hosts create each week.
- However, winning a game of Pokemon is far from the only way to win in this tournament. Alternate challenges will become available throughout the tournament.
Signups will close sometime this weekend. If you have any ideas at all for this tournament (especially ones not shown in the poll), please let me know! I really want this to be the best scRUb League yet!
