[OVERVIEW]
Uxie sets itself apart from the other Stealth Rock setters in RU thanks to its base 90 Speed and its slew of support moves such as Thunder Wave and U-turn. However, unlike other Stealth Rock setters, Uxie lacks an offensive presence, making it more of a glue for balance teams, and its great defensive stats are offset by its defensively poor Psychic typing and lack of reliable recovery. Uxie also happens to be outclassed offensively by other Psychic-types in the tier such as Meloetta and Mesprit, the latter of which also has Stealth Rock.

move 2: Psyshock
move 3: Thunder Wave
move 4: U-turn / Dazzling Gleam
item: Leftovers / Colbur Berry
ability: Levitate
nature: Bold
evs: 252 HP / 64 Def / 192 Spe
[SET COMMENT]
Moves
========
Stealth Rock deals chip damage to the opponent's team, providing valuable support to Uxie's teammates. Psyshock allows Uxie to OHKO Adamant Hitmonlee. Alternatively, Psychic can be used to deal more damage to physically defensive Pokemon such as Tangrowth and Tyrantrum. Thunder Wave cripples Pokemon that might switch in and try to set up on Uxie. Yawn provides useful momentum for offensive teams by pressuring the foe to switch out to avoid being put to sleep. U-turn allows Uxie to lure out Bug- and Dark-types that attempt to trap it. Alternatively, Dazzling Gleam gives Uxie a way to hit Dark-types such as Spiritomb and Houndoom.
Set Details
========
192 Speed EVs let Uxie outspeed Adamant Hitmonlee and OHKO it with Psyshock. 252 EVs are put into HP, and the rest are put into Defense for added bulk. A bulkier EV spread of 252 HP / 192 Def / 64 Spe can be used if more bulk is desired, which allows Uxie to outspeed Adamant Tyrantrum and any slower Pokemon. Leftovers provides Uxie with a form of recovery, increasing its longevity, while Colbur Berry reduces the amount of damage taken from the first super effective Dark-type move that hits Uxie at the cost of passive recovery from Leftovers. Levitate grants Uxie with a useful immunity to Ground-type moves and Spikes.
Usage Tips
========
U-turn is best used to escape from unfavorable situations late-game and to pivot into strong attackers that can handle Pokemon that check Uxie such as Emboar. Thunder Wave is best used to cripple strong attackers and setup sweepers such as Houndoom, Tyrantrum, Meloetta, and Delphox. Due to its lack of reliable recovery, be wary of switching Uxie out too much because it will be worn down by Stealth Rock and switching into attacks.
Team Options
========
Slow wallbreakers such as Exploud and Tyrantrum appreciate Uxie's ability to paralyze faster foes. Ghost-types such as Jellicent and Spiritomb can prevent Uxie's Stealth Rock from being spun away. Fighting-types such as Emboar, Hitmonlee, and Scrafty can handle the Dark-types that threaten Uxie. Clerics such as Aromatisse, Togetic, and Wish Alomomola are good options for teammates, as the former two can rid Uxie of status ailments and the latter can replenish its HP.
[SET]
name: Dual Screens
move 1: Reflect
move 2: Light Screen
move 3: Memento
move 4: Stealth Rock
item: Light Clay
ability: Levitate
nature: Timid
evs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 Spe
[SET COMMENT]
Moves
========
Reflect and Light Screen reduce the damage taken from physical and special moves, respectively, for eight turns. Memento reduces the foe's Attack and Special Attack while also sacrificing Uxie, which blocks Defog and Rapid Spin and provides an opportunity to switch in a setup sweeper. Stealth Rock provides support by damaging the opponent's Pokemon on the switch. Alternatively, U-turn gives Uxie the opportunity to set up screens later on in the match.
Set Details
========
A Timid nature with maximum Speed EVs allows Uxie to be as fast as possible, giving it more opportunities to set up Reflect and Light Screen. The remaining EVs are put into HP for increased bulk. Light Clay increases the duration of Reflect and Light Screen by three turns.
Usage Tips
========
This set focuses on setting up both screens and using Memento if Uxie's HP is too low, giving you a free switch to a setup sweeper. In most cases, it is best to set up Stealth Rock first so that you don't waste screen turns. If Defog or a switch to a Defogger is predicted, it is best to use Memento to prevent Defog from working, giving you a free switch to a Pokemon that can pressure the Defogger. If the opponent happens to use a dedicated lead such as Smeargle or Qwilfish, it is best to lead with a Pokemon that manages to beat them such as Virizion because Uxie's passiveness gives it a negative matchup against those Pokemon.
Team Options
========
Setup sweepers such as Virizion, Houndoom, and Scrafty appreciate the defensive boosts from dual screens and Memento support, giving them an easier time setting up. Pokemon that pressure Defoggers such as Glalie and Braviary are valuable partners, as they can prevent the screens from being emoved.
[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
============
Thanks to its high bulk and access to moves such as Thunder Wave and U-turn, Uxie excels at functioning as a bulky weather setter for dedicated weather teams. Because its support moves are quite common among other Pokemon, Uxie can use Imprison to block moves shared with its foe, such as Stealth Rock and U-turn. Heal Bell provides Uxie with a means of mitigating status ailments, but finding a slot for it usually means that Uxie will have to forgo using a crucial move. A Trick Room set can be used, but it is outclassed by Bronzong, which is slower and also has Stealth Rock and Explosion, the latter serving a similar purpose to Uxie's Memento. A bulky Calm Mind set with Rest and Sleep Talk can be used to take advantage of Uxie's outstanding bulk, but it struggles against various things, such as Taunt users, phazing moves, and Pokemon that resist or are immune to Uxie's attacking move. Knock Off, although weak, can be used to cripple Psychic-types that might want to set up on Uxie.
Checks and Counters
=================
**Dark-types**: Dark-types such as Houndoom, Scrafty, and Spiritomb are immune to Uxie's STAB moves and can severely damage it or set up on it, although Houndoom should be wary of Thunder Wave, and Scrafty and Spiritomb are hit super effectively by Dazzling Gleam.
**Steel-types**: Mega Steelix and Bronzong take little damage from Uxie's STAB moves and can set up Stealth Rock or cripple it with Toxic. In addition, Mega Steelix is immune to Thunder Wave.
**Taunt Users**: Taunt shuts down Uxie, forcing it to switch out via U-turn or directly.
**Status Ailments**: Due to its lack of recovery, status conditions from moves such as Will-O-Wisp and Toxic can quickly wear Uxie down.
**Wallbreakers**: Strong attackers such as Durant, Tyrantrum, and Emboar can overwhelm Uxie with their powerful attacks, but they should be wary of switching into Thunder Wave.
