IIRC Pinch berries don't exist in BW (or something to that extent), so you just have to change Poliwrath's item and then everything should be fine.

Aww, that makes sense I guess. It kind of ruins the strategy but glad that I know now.

Yes, just to confirm, it's because of the pinch Berry being unreleased. The server will tell you where the error in your team is when you try to change to a tier that your team is illegal for, btw.
